Our prayers are always heard, we must never give up. Our Lady said “In the end my immaculate heart will triumph”

Today Is Saint Padre Pio’s birthday!! Why out of all the days in the year must this referendum take place on so Holy a saints birthday??It has ended. They are counting the votes.
I hope notProbably was held on purpose to mock if this government is anything to go by
That’s a pretty interesting word - compelled. Especially as most Christians - particularly Catholics, reject open theism which is necessitated by the idea of a god acting against its will.Vonsalza:
There are two “major” defenses against the “problem of evil”. One is the “free will” defense which says that the “free will” is so important that God “is compelled” to accept the negative side effects, the evil actions.Obviously Will… (???)
Sure. But I think the biggest, at least from a secular perspective, is probably simple denial of the existence of evil. As you seem to employ. The other one is the “greater good defense”, which asserts that God only allows those seemingly evil acts, which somehow lead to some greater good outcomes - if only we knew what those “greater goods” might be. Of course these are mutually exclusive.
Offered as charitably as I can - just because I don’t want to submit to how your link phrases the issue doesn’t mean “there’s no reason to continue” - especially as I’ve has my own education on the topic independent of whether you want to accept that as true.Unless you read and comprehend the article provided in my link, there is no reason to continue.
Now that might be a reason to not continue, as it’s more consistent with the thread.By the way… let’s commiserate or celebrate the outcome of the Irish vote… whichever your preference might be.
