If you rent a house your background is checked to see if you will be a good renter.

If you buy a house the bank checks to see if you can pay it back.

If you plant a crop do you plan or do you just throw some seeds out and hope for the best.

If you had children, when it came time to drive, did you buy them a hot rod or a safe car to drive?

Common sense? If Trump cites 9/11 as the reason for this EO, then common sense would dictate you start with the country believed to be most complicit in 9/11: Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, “common sense” is that if you ask anyone to name a Muslim country, Saudi Arabia is likely going to be the #1 answer. You could fill the Grand Canyon with all the Saudi nationals who have harmed us. And now those same Saudi nationals get a free pass from Trump.

I wondered where the Christians were during the height of Christian persecution …all the while only Muslim refugees were permitted to flow to the US.
And now they surface as pizza angels to support protesters of a temporary ban designed to protect.

I’m not sure how this action makes America safe or great. The New York Times reports that these men were in transit as the executive order was signed.

Pope John Paul was against the invasion of Iraq. We invade anyway.

Pope Francis speaks of accepting refugees as a moral good, we arrest two gentlemen who have already been vetted, one worked for the US government.

Can’t wait until they impeach Trump – over another issue for which they have very good legal grounds.

Meanwhile, since that will take time, I think the Republicans can with Trump’s help end or grossly reduce Social Security and Medicare, along with all the other “nanny-state” programs.

Maybe they’ll also make abortion illegal, though that will be last on their agenda, after they get rid of all the child-aid programs, so they won’t have to pay for children in need who are born.

So everyone wins !!! Yeah !!! :rolleyes:

For an impeachment to proceed, based on what I have learnt, the House Commitee on the Judiciary has to allow the impeachment to proceed, and this Committee has many more Republican members on it, than Democrat: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_Committee_on_the_Judiciary

The Chairman is Bob Goodlatte. He would have to approve the investigation in regards to impeachment.

So if the Democrats try to impeach Trump, I don’t think it’s going to get very far.

Actually experts in intelligence & the military are saying that Trump’s ban on Muslims from these 7 countries is playing right into the hands of ISIS (which wanted to create further polarization between the US and Muslims in order to get more recruits) and making our country and Americans living or stationed abroad LESS SAFE.

But who needs expert advice on serious national threat problems when they have Steve Bannon to advise. :rolleyes:

It’s not Democrats, but some group, and I do think the Republicans will be happy to impeach Trump once their get their basics – kill Obamacare, Medicare, etc.

Think about it. Who would succeed Trump if he is impeached??? 😉

If you think “some group” or Republicans are going to impeach Trump, that’s up to you. I don’t share that view.

I don’t want to get off topic massively here, but you think Trump wants to kill Medicare? Based on what?

  1. I think that recent President apply good sense. Trump, not so clear.
  2. You perhaps should make a distinction between refugees and other migrants, at least in Catholic thinking.

ISIS recruitment has plummeted because these guys are being killed all over the Middle East. ISIS hasn’t made any friends by what they have done to their supposedly fellow muslims, thats why they are having to grab people at gunpoint to try and make them fight. Implementing a new standard of vetting during a 120 day ban isn’t going to make people pour into ISIS’s ranks. I’m assuming that, since your smarter than Trump, then you are a billionaire, too, huh?
