Refugees detained at US airports after Trump exec order

Where is the evidence from around the world that more moderate immigration and refugee procedures have hindered Islamic radicalism compared to those countries that have have more strict vetting procedures?
Same place you’ll find the evidence that any of those 7 countries gave us the terrorists who attacked Americans at the WTC on 9/11, in Orlando, in San Bernardino because…c’mon, shouldn’t common sense dictate who we don’t want entering this country? For all his talk about “draining the swamp,” Trump just demonstrated he LOVES that swamp.

Information as to who and who not the executive order applies to from Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson
The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has today held conversations with the US Government and as a result we can clarify that:
The Presidential executive order only applies to individuals travelling from one of the seven named countries.
If you are travelling to the US from anywhere other than one of those countries (for instance, the UK) the executive order does not apply to you and you will experience no extra checks regardless of your nationality or your place of birth.
If you are a UK national who happens to be travelling from one of those countries to the US, then the order does not apply to you – even if you were born in one of those countries.
If you are a dual citizen of one of those countries travelling to the US from OUTSIDE those countries then the order does not apply to you.
The only dual nationals who might have extra checks are those coming from one of the seven countries themselves – for example a UK-Libya dual national coming from Libya to the US.
The US has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the expeditious processing of all travellers from the United Kingdom.

You haven’t provided the name of a single country… which country’s policies have benefited Islamic extremism?
The chief country to list is the US.

*Al Shabaab, the East African affiliate of the al-Qaida terrorist groiup, released a 51-minute video telling “Muslims of the West” that they are not welcome in countries like the United States. Ten minutes into the video, it says the United States has a history of “slavery, segregation, lynching, and Ku Klux Klan, and tomorrow, it will be a land of religious discrimination and concentration camps.”

It then cuts to Trump calling for a temporary but “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S,” according to SITE Intelligence Group, which studies jihadist propaganda, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. It urges American Muslims to leave the United States and join the group.

Later, on March 24, Newsweek reported that an ISIS video released in the wake of the Brussels attack featured an audio clip from Trump.*

  1. I think that recent President apply good sense. Trump, not so clear.
  2. You perhaps should make a distinction between refugees and other migrants, at least in Catholic thinking.
call them migrants or refugees, I dont care, Trump is applying common sense.

Here is a report from CNN today:
A Syrian Christian Orthodox family was turned back from Philadelphia International Airport after traveling to the United States from Lebanon, airport sources in Beirut said on Sunday.
The family of six were denied entry under U.S. President Donald Trump’s new ban on nationals of seven Muslim-majority countries, including Syria, and flew back to Lebanon via Doha, the sources said.

And then later this morning from the Washington Post:
Just after 8 a.m. Sunday, Trump tweeted: “Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world — a horrible mess!”
Later in the morning, Trump tweeted, “Christians in the Middle-East have been executed in large numbers. We cannot allow this horror to continue!”

So why are persecuted Christians from Syria being denied entry to the US? Does Mr. Trump wants them to go back to Syria where they might be executed?

Good question, I think you should be looking at Obama’s administration for that, not Trumps’ who plans to do more about this.
Does Mr. Trump wants them to go back to Syria where they might be executed?
No.

Well, the professionals have already concluded that the vetting we have in place now is good enough. It is the non-professionals who have called for vastly more disruptive vetting.
Obama armed much of ISIS in their efforts to overthrow Assad as they did other Countries in the ME, and then he would refuse to recognize Islamic Terrorism, so I believe his administration could not possibly vet people properly because Obama’s administration carried with them a mistaken ideology.

Which is why I believe we needed Trump and I would recommend praying for him and his administration.

I hope this has helped

OK, so your definition of “the professionals” as “the Trump professionals”

If someone (Muslim or otherwise) sympathizes with ISIS or doesn’t reject sharia law, then yes, they shouldn’t be permitted.
How does one find out? They can lie unless there’s a way to read minds. Polygraph tests aren’t reliable and aren’t admissible in any Western court I believe. One can close all social media accounts.

We will wait and see, but yea, I don’t know who the professionals were under Obama, but Obama and their polices and actions showed they didn’t understand and if one has a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation, then I believe they cannot possibly vet properly no matter how professional they are.

I hope this has helped

This is a temporary halt.

If someone (Muslim or otherwise) sympathizes with ISIS or doesn’t reject sharia law, then yes, they shouldn’t be permitted.
If Muslims are denied entry unless they reject sharia law, should Jews also be denied entry to the US unless they reject Halakha (Jewish law)? And what about Catholics? Should they be denied entry unless they reject Catholic canon law?

I wouldn’t say Sharia Law, but I would mention some things in Sharia Law. Because some of those things are illegal in our nations. e.g. Child Marriages, Death penalty for Apostasy etc.

This is what makes it different to Catholic Cannon Law and Jewish Law (from what I know) because these don’t breach our laws in serious ways.

Unless of course you are okay with Child Marriages and the Death penalty for Apostasy and some stuff like that?

I hope this has helped

Seems reasonable and fair.

Even in Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, things like the death penalty are imposed by the state. So unless you’re concerned that the parliament in your own country or the US Congress is going to adopt the death penalty for apostasy from Islam, I don’t think that this is a serious issue.
