Refuting Jewish objections to Jesus as the Messiah

I think that you’ve given yourself a reply: Christians explicitly and implicitly acknowledge God’s revelation at Mt. Sinai–the Jews reject His Revelation at Bethlehem–even in spite of the Old Testament Scriptures!
Revelation at Bethlehem? Who saw it? How many people? At Mount Sinai, the entire nation was there. How many % of the population was at the manger?

Wait … was it Bethlehem or Nazareth?

How many people would have been needed at Bethlehem in order for the Jews to consider it the truth? I didn’t know there was a required number.

How many Pharisees and Saducees were in Pilates courtyard when Jesus was being sentanced? Evidently the number was great enough.

How many people saw Jesus ascend into Heaven. Approximately 500. I guess that one was true. All the Jews believe this one because the number was big enough.

What can I say… speaking to you about the Holy Scriptures is like speaking to pluto about his station as mickey mouse’s pet…

Read the Hole Scriptures… not your “teacher’s” interpretation of the Word of God.

May the Holy Spirit free you!

The devil this time is unfortunately not in the details. We should not miss the forest for the trees.

If the NT is to be put on the same pedestal as the Torah, then the evidence for it has to be great enough to convince the Jew of the claims within.

And you have to do it such that the Tanakh points forward to Jesus, not the other way round!

You mean read the Holy Scripture or read the Catholic Church’s teaching on the Holy Scripture?

May the Holy Spirit frees me. If He doesn’t, what does it imply? God is powerless?

I’m not Jewish, but how do we know that Jesus is the true Messiah? How do we know that someone didn’t just take a persons documents and forge it to look like a supernatural being or the messiah.
That is exactly what some Jews claim

If you have I tunes Download “judaism response to Christianity” by Tovia Singer

There are about 15-20 programs about 1 hour each

Every one who is trying to bring the gospel to the Jewish people should listen to them

Icemoon,
It’s interesting that you say the Tanakh must point to Jesus and not the other way around. Our Old Testament includes the Torah, the Nebiim, and the Ketubim. When I say “our” Old Testament, that’s exactly what I mean.

The Old Testament is an indispensable part of Sacred Scripture. It’s books are divinely inspired and retain a permanent value, for the Old Covenant has never been revoked.

The method of how the Old Testament was written and the way it was orientated prepares and declares in prophesy the coming of Christ, redeemer of all men. …

The books of the Old Testament bear witness to the whole pedagogy of God’s saving love: these writings are a storehouse of sublime teaching on God and of sound wisdom on human life, as well as a wonderful treasury of prayers.

Christians venerate the Old Testament as true Word of God. The Church has always vigorously opposed the idea of rejecting the Old Testament under the pretext that the New has rendered it void.
CCC paragraph 121, 122, 123.

Jesus said that “…any man who denies Me before other men I will deny him before the Father…”

They are taking a big gamble with their eternity in denying the Son of God. But, then again, it’s a matter of choice. We all, more or less “choose” our eternity.

…my mistake; I did not know that you meant that the book of Hebrews was an accepted part of the Holy Scriptures:

It’s ok.

I’m just wondering whether you live up to the biblical dictum of “test everything; hold fast to what is good” from 1Thess 5.

Since you quoted Paul telling Christians to scrutinize everything and keep what is “good;” I mistakenly thought that you were insinuating that Hebrews was “bad.”

Again, my apologies.

…it’s not that you are anti-Catholic… it’s that you are confused.

Jesus, a Jew, taught His disciples, all Jews, that He is God and they in turn, taught their first disciples, all Jews, that Jesus is God… as the Church (both Jews and Gentiles), founded by Christ Jesus, brought the Gospel of the Kingdom of Yahweh God to the world, the Church affirmed Jesus Divinity.

Again, you are confused. The Holy Spirit is that Power of God that executes His Will. There is no separation between the Holy Trinity: One God (Yahweh) is not a lesser God than One God (Yeshua) than One God (the Holy Spirit).

May the Holy Spirit free you as in:

***7 But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go. For if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you: but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he is come, he will convince the world of sin and of justice and of judgment. 9 Of sin: because they believed not in me. 10 And of justice: because I go to the Father: and you shall see me no longer. 11 And of judgment: because the prince of this world is already judged. ***(St. John 16:7-11–DRV)

First off I don’t endorse the views of Tovia Singer.
However he is one of if not the most effective voice in counter jewish evangelism.
Therefore if one desires to evangelize the jewish people one must therefore know and be able to refute to argument that Jesus is not the messiah

Therefore when I say listen to Tovia it is like a coach saying study the game film of the opposing team not to join the opposing team
