Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end.
Amen

Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection,
implored Thy help or sought Thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother;
to Thee do I come, before thee I kneel, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in Thy clemency, hear and answer me.
Amen.

Lord God of all creation, You have called your daughter to You, through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Father, Your love remains eternal and unfathomable to us! Our sister has suffered at the hands of the evil one and those who have done his work. We pray that she will overcome this trauma through the application of Your love to her life. Let not the evil one re-kindle the horrors of the past in a vain attempt to shake her faith and destroy her interior peace. You alone have brought her through all of life’s dangers, calling her name with a small, still voice in the midst of storms and terror. May Saint Michael the Archangel defend her on this spiritual battlefield which she is negotiating on her way to communion with You. Through a regeneration of the purest goodwill in her heart, may the peace, which she has only recently begun to experience, blossom and grow into a beautifully robed flower. Grant that she seeks Your mercy upon those who were so cruel to her, as they did not create the evil, but only repeated what had been visited upon them by others. Give her a heart of true forgiveness as she thanks You for counting her worthy of being called to Your Kingdom. We ask this through the perfect intercession of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Your only Son, Who livers and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!

Susan, this is the first time I have been on this thread. I am shocked and can’t keep from crying. One of the Hail Marys I say at bedtime, every single night, will be for you. I pray that, if surgery is needed, our loving God will lead you to just the right surgeon who will do everything necessary, beautifully. The same for a therapist. If you are looking for St. Maria Goretti’s assistance to forgive the perpetrator, you are on the right track.

There has been a subtext running through my conversion, that I think may have run through your conversion, that we don’t deserve these blessings of God we are receiving. Of course we don’t! They reflect only His immense love, mercy and power. There is the feeling that we are somehow not eligible for this. Same answer. I’ve struggled a lot with bad things that happened to me in the past, as well as my own past sins. The answer is always the same and comes to me especially when praying before the crucifix in the church. Friends who converted have told me that they experienced a roller-coaster life while in the process of converting. Ask yourself, why is satan working so hard? But we have the assurance that greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world. It seems that the darkest hour really is before the dawn. I pray that the Body and Blood of Our Lord, which you are soon to receive, will be unspeakably sufficient for every need in your life.

Blessings to you,

Luminous Hope

Susan, Child rape is the most horrendous crime against children. I am so sorry it happened. Dealing with the reality of the trauma is important. Trust your memories, they are likely real if traumatic.

One important aspect of trauma is that memories are vivid and never forgotten. People may attempt to confuse you with missing parts. The reason for missing parts is that there are other traumas that have yet to wake from, likely from the same experience.

Keep up the therapy, best to go to a Psychiatrist. General therapist lack education and experience with extreme trauma which can cause additional conflict.

Here is something you can hang your hat on; Severe trauma is stored as unprocessed experiences. We can not change or alter unprocessed memories, in fact there is greater detail that surrounds unprocessed experiences. If our brains didn’t work that way we could never learn and society would act as a bunch of rabid dogs. If you had processed these memories completely at a younger age, likely not as you wouldn’t be here now, there would have been a chance of inaccuracies. This is not the case, trust them completely.

Most important; continue as you do here for support as you need to, go to therapy and most important notify the DA and FBI, and whom ever else, who did it to you.

Best to you.

More. No one can install memories into someone, even under hypnosis. If they try, those memories are not lasting, have limited details and will never hold up under scrutiny.

Lastly and be ready; There are three major parts to trauma resolve.
  1. waking from the trauma
  2. the realization you missed important parts of your life due to the trauma, including younger years
  3. those who will deny you and minimize the effects ← this can be the worst and most destructive
Forcing yourself to forget will stop you from solving important psychological problems needed for a healthy life. You need to get through it to become stronger. Remembering is important, forgetting will prevent you from developing important brain functions needed. As bad as it sounds, you need to face it.

Work every day and remain positive to resolve.

Email me anytime.

Best to you.

I was raped at age 10, and although I’ve dealt with it somewhat with counseling, the memory has been resurfacing the past couple of weeks. This morning after I attended mass I remembered it very vividly, to the point where I almost passed out. I suppose it was a flashback. I am home now, just resting for today. I would really appreciate all of your prayers to help me through this difficult time. Thanks and God bless.
Susan I will pray a rosary for you today.

Father, Judith is progressing spiritually just as You have ordained. She is undergoing trials and tests along this journey, but for the good of her soul, and the good of Your Kingdom. Sustain her, O Lord, as she draws ever nearer You, experiencing anew the unfathomable love which You have for her. May she take refuge in the Sacred Heart of Jesus when the evil one threatens. May Saint Michael the Archangel defend her against the devil’s wickedness. Lord Jesus, we beseech You to bear our prayers to the Father, that He may incline His ear to hear Judith’s plea for mercy and strength. For our part, we pray that she will progress steadily toward a blessed and Spirit-filled communion with You, O lord on that blessed day that is rapidly approaching. Grant this in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Whose Advent we celebrate and Whose coming we long for. Amen! Alleluia!
