Last week, President Obama signed into law the government takeover of America’s health care system.

Let me assure you – I’m not about to give up fighting to protect your family’s health care.

The Obamacare bill that was passed raises taxes, slashes senior’s Medicare, and it will lead to longer waits, higher premiums, and less choices. I also agree with Louisiana’s Democratic Attorney General that the mandate forcing you to buy insurance is unconstitutional.

Senator David Vitter

I agree with you, but I don’t think it wil be repealed. It’s here to stay.

I can understand having disagreements and debates, but don’t lie to make your point. I discourage any other readers from giving such unverifiable or false statements like this a pass just because you dislike the health care legislation.

Socialism is a lie! The demand for ObamaCare will increase. The supply of doctors will decrease. Monopolies, such as ObamaCare, cause services to decrease and prices to increase!

“The growth of the bureaucracy, reinforced by the changing role of the courts, has made a mockery of the ideal expressed by John Adams in his original (1779) draft of the Massachusetts constitution: ‘a government of laws instead of men.’ Anyone who has been subjected to a thorough customs inspection on returning from a trip abroad, had his tax returns audited by the IRS, been subject to inspection by an official of OSHA or any of a large number of federal agencies, had occasion to appeal to the bureaucracy for a ruling or a permit, or had to defend a higher price or wage before the Council on Wage and Price Stability is aware of how far we have come from a rule of law. The government official is supposed to be our servant. When you sit across the desk from a representative of the Internal Revenue Service who is auditing your tax return, which one of you is the master and which the servant (Friedman)?”

Well since I believe it is unconstitutional, I believe it will increase wait times, I believe it wll increase costs, I believe that there will be fewer doctors, and I believe it will result in fewer choices for the healthcare consumer, what is it exactly would I be lying about? If I disagree with you, am I lying?

Amend. Socialism is the politics of envy. Is it any wonder that the Catholic Church opposes socialism? God gave us a free will. What right does government have to take away our free will? I lost my respect for this government when it crossed the line of divine law and natural law in 1973 with Roe vs. Wade. An unjust law is no law at all!

Here is a quote from Bishop Sheen on politics:

“Our Constitution puts politics under theology, democracy under God. But today, politics denies its divine foundation. Politics is today the supreme and absolute science. We once lived in the age of the Theological Man; then cam the age of the Economic Man; now we are in the age of the Political Man. The Theological Man lived for God; the Economic Man lived for profit; the Political Man lives for the State…So important has politics become, that now men judge religion by its attitude toward politics, rather than politics by its attitude toward religion.”

Shall we ask him just how we can add millions more people to the government plan and not have those things happen? His math must be different than mine, or else he has bought Obama hook, line and sinker.

The increase in wait times etc do not follow from unconstitutionality. The problem is that they are primarily speculation and claiming otherwise is dishonest. Other claims, such as “obama is a socialist” and “this is a government takeover of health care” are indefensible and blatantly false.

For example, premiums are going to increase. They would have increased had the bill not been passed. They will still increase if the Republicans repeal the bill. Further, government spending on health care will increase. The idea is that these increases will be lesser than they otherwise would be.

The situations described are manifestations of the rule of law. I think what you would prefer is a theocracy.

Actually it isn’t…speculation based upon wait times in other countries…WHICH ARE FACTS…isn’t dishonest.
“this is a government takeover of health care” are indefensible and blatantly false.
If the leftist liberals wish to persuade that Health Care isn’t now Governmental Controlled - they should present evidence to their claim - This will be a hard sell even to me.

IMHO if it wasn’t Governmental Controlled - there is no need for the new Government Agencies / Committees.
The idea is that these increases will be lesser than they otherwise would be.
NOW this IS speculation - as no one even knows the costs yet.

The government’s mouth is the law. The “rule of law” is an ancient memory.

We have yet to pay the full financial price for the economic policies of the economist Keynes and the socialist policies of FDR and the Democrat Party. My guess is that we may not have long to wait. Hyperinflation may be just around the corner. The true inflation rate is most probably around 15% and my guess is that it is headed much higher. Enjoy your government monopoly money while you can. The value of the dollar is evaporating.

When the U.S. socialist government can’t print money fast enough to fend off another deflationary Great Depression, then **it will change the value of the U.S. dollar **in cooperation with the G-20 countries.

I think The Government already prints Promise Notes that it doesn’t have for Social Security …doesn’t it?

Sorry, but the changes to insurance policies mandated by the new bill will cause premiums to skyrocket, not just rise.

Insurance companies can’t start accepting people with pre-existing conditions and removing life-time caps without raising premiums accordingly.

If the federal government had wanted to reduce the cost of insurance, there were a huge number of things they could have done other than what they did. If they had intended to raise insurance prices astoundingly, they couldn’t have done a better job.

The situations described are manifestations of the rule of law.
The problem is this bill isn’t a manifestation of the rule of law it’s a manifestation of the rule of the mob. The Constitution specifically defines the powers of the federal government. Those powers…not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. (10th Amendment).

No where does the Constitution grant the imperial federal government the power to compel private citizens to purchase a good or service from other private entities. It’s just not there. 🤷

Yours in Christ

I"m sure that the people who had no medical insurance at all will wholeheartedly disagree with you.

30% of Americans think that it is Christmas. The other 70% of Americans are ticked off!

“The philosophy of socialism is failure (Winston Churchill).”

Ludwig von Mises wrote, “Authors of economics books, essays, articles, and political platforms demand interventionist measures before they are taken, but once they have been imposed no one likes them. Then everyone—usually even the authorities responsible for them—call them insufficient and unsatisfactory. Generally the demand then arises for the replacement of unsatisfactory interventions by other, more suitable measures. And once the new demands have been met, the same scenario begins all over again.”

"After decades of governmental intervention into the health-care arena, the failures are apparent for all to see. But rather than root out the cause of the problem, Americans are demanding that government do something about it…

Most Americans, including many free-market advocates, simply will not—perhaps cannot—face the truth: that the welfare state (socialism) and the managed economy (interventionism) have never worked and can never work. No matter what is done—no matter who is put in charge—no matter what plan is used—the result will always be the same:** failure.** The sooner we come to grips with this truth, the sooner we can begin traveling the road to a healthy and prosperous society (Hornberger)."

The operation was a success but the patient died. Bankrupting the United States is the rationale for Obamacare, not health care delivery. These people aren’t stupid, they’re evil; yet we fight not against men, but against powers and principalities. I’m grateful to my parents for helping me through college; and the best thing I learned about were the hateful sociopath control freak students and teachers who pushed for Communism/Socialism (Marx said it was all the same…). They are, at the root, parent haters without the guts to admit it. Obama is a great example, as he was abandoned by his dad and, in part, by his mom who dumped him on grandma while she got her masters. “Pray the daily Rosary for peace.”

Thank You, dearest Heavenly Daddy, as Jesus called You “Abba”, for giving us Your sonship through Christ our Lord; and the faculty for embracing Your perfect love in thanks and praise through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Coerced charity is simply disguised thievery! Is it any wonder why the Catholic Church opposes socialism? If you still support socialism, then Churchill was right. The creed of socialism is ignorance.

The same efforts were launched against Medicare/medicade as well as new deal entitlements like Social Security. I think we just need to accept that health care reform will be here to stay.

I think better, would be to direct all of our energies into reshaping it. For instance legislating abortion straight out of the system, and making other practical (moral) changes to the reform legislation.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
~Thomas Jefferson~
I’m with Ron Paul - he says that national bankruptcy will repeal Obamacare. The unsustainable burden of it added to the astronomical deficit and continued spending will force us over the precipice. Who do they think they are kidding anyway?

Perhaps that’s been the plan all along!
