Repeal ObamaCare!

I’m with Ron Paul - he says that national bankruptcy will repeal Obamacare. The unsustainable burden of it added to the astronomical deficit and continued spending will force us over the precipice. Who do they think they are kidding anyway?

Perhaps that’s been the plan all along!
Ron Paul is the best! I agree with his conclusion. Most people have to feel before they are willing to change their life.

Try to save yourself. Learn to grow some of your own food using non-hybrid seeds. When other countries no longer accept our government money, Obama’s socialist game is over.

I already have a two tier money system in place for the organic food that I produce. I use 1963 prices for real money (U.S. silver coins) and 2010 prices for government monopoly money. When inflation enters into the high double digits, I will no longer accept government funny money. If the government makes it a law that I have to accept their monopoly money, I will grow less food and I will stop selling any surplus food.

Oh well, the world is in a meltdown of deception on the political sphere.

Aren’t you fortunate that you can grow your own food. I live in a tightly covenant-controlled patio home! l o l ! There will be no security with growing our own food, however, because already there have been several bills introduced under the false title of “Food Safety Laws” that might eventually curtail us from even eating what we grow. Also, you may want to check out John McCain’s S3002.

Food is a weapon and the government intends to use it against us.

Is famine possible in the United States?

World food reserves are at a very low level compared to forty years ago (less than a month of supply). Additionally, the world came very close to running out of corn a few years ago! Low food prices tell us that food is abundant. What gives?
 
Coerced charity is simply disguised thievery! Is it any wonder why the Catholic Church opposes socialism? If you still support socialism, then Churchill was right. The creed of socialism is ignorance.

The same efforts were launched against Medicare/medicade as well as new deal entitlements like Social Security. I think we just need to accept that health care reform will be here to stay.

I think better, would be to direct all of our energies into reshaping it. For instance legislating abortion straight out of the system, and making other practical (moral) changes to the reform legislation.
And then we might do well to figure out how to pay for it.

Technically, prior to the passage of this bill, everyone (including those here illegally) had medical care under EMTALA. I’m not saying that a reform was not necessary - just NOT this one which empowers the federal government with more interference in our daily lives.

Of course society, as a whole, will support a massive Entitlement Program with absolutely no thought as to how and whom will pay for it. They will embrace it as their due and think nothing further of it - I suppose they somehow erroneously believe the U. S. Treasury to be an inexhaustible well from which to draw. The reality, of course, is that someone must pay the piper and the added burdens to the rest of society and businesses which will bear the brunt of it all, will be the end to any common good as defined by the Church. So we will all fail to reach the goal and further, those formerly able to assist the poor with true charity, will have had the ability to do so, taken from them by higher premiums and taxes and unemployment.

The very most important thing to discuss is blatantly missing from these threads. Socialism holds Man as the arbiter of morals and would usurp God’s power (look at the abortion funding included in this bill.) The primary common good of which the Church in past encyclicals speaks, includes spiritual fulfillment; that is, the hope of salvation for mankind. The socialist viewpoint is only a material one without any regard for the total man, body and soul.

Careful, you do know the old adage “Ignorance is bold and knowledge reserved.” While you may think that placing socialism in bold text places it in the ignorance camp, in doing so you make your posts the boldest in this thread.
 
If they have enough votes to repeal it, it would never have passed in the first place. The only difference might be if there is enough of a groundswell to force a swing by several Senators/ Representatives. Won’t happen. Wait for the November elections.
 
No where does the Constitution grant the imperial federal government the power to compel private citizens to purchase a good or service from other private entities. It’s just not there. 🤷
Someone explained it to me this way: it’s a tax that you have to pay only if you DON’T buy heathcare. The Federal government is allowed to tax, yes?

I also heard that states will have the ability to withdraw from these requirements, but if they do, they will forfeit Medicare funding. So technically, your state could avoid these requirements if they feel that they are onerous.

I think that Winston Churchill made some good points when he said that the creed of socialism is ignorance, the philosophy of socialism is failure and the gospel of socialism is envy.

Right, good thing we’re talking about the Health Care Reform bill and not socialism.

The lies, and viral campaigns which misrepresented the bill failed to stop it from passing. You’ll just have to live with the fact that we’ve entered the 20th century. In 10 years everyone will look back and have a laugh about this.
 
Last week, President Obama signed into law the government takeover of America’s health care system.

Let me assure you – I’m not about to give up fighting to protect your family’s health care.

The Obamacare bill that was passed raises taxes, slashes senior’s Medicare, and it will lead to longer waits, higher premiums, and less choices. I also agree with Louisiana’s Democratic Attorney General that the mandate forcing you to buy insurance is unconstitutional.

ObamaCare, like all socialist legislation, is already a failure. In ten years Congress will be looking for more government intervention to fix the failed ObamaCare.

The end result of credit expansion to pay for all the failed socialist legislation will be the destruction of our currency. The debt collapse is already happening around the world and now it has reached our shores.

When you have to spend every penny of your money on staying alive, you get a little focused on the matter. I don’t have time to think of anything else other than making it a few more weeks, a few more months, now I have to wait 4 years and if this fight lasts long, maybe longer than that.

Right, I’m sure all those other “socialist” countries in the free world would be interested in this spin. Perhaps someone can bring it up the next time we borrow money from them…

Many of us on this forum have sympathized with your plight, however the government needs to wait that long to supposedly gather the money to begin paying for this freebie? for all of us. Needless to say, the money will be spent right away on more vote-getting opportunities while the Dems are still in the majority. It is not right that folks in your situation should be without, but there are ways to help you that does not trash our whole system, the best medical care in the world.

They offer sympathy and then offer plans that won’t do anything to help me at all. I’m not really sure how to interpret sympathy when it’s followed up by brushing aside the issues that several million people like me have in our every day lives. I wouldn’t know squat about the ‘best medical care’. I’ve always received the bare minimum of anything, local hospitals are rude, condescending and frequently I’ve had delayed care because they always assume I have AIDS.

You and I live in different worlds, in the same country.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact,** I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated **If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! **I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care. **

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However , that doesn’t work because since **there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law. **

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn’t stop there though.

The **9th Amendment **that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.” If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

** For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us. **
