I guess it is a fun waste of time to author amendments which will never pass. There is absolutely no risk to them. It is merely a statement of position, which is fine. But why put it out there in a way that is futile? There is no chance of such a constitutional amendment being ratified.
Similarly, why does the House of Reps waste everyone’s time “repealing” the Affordable Healthcare Act, when they know that the Senate will not take the matter up And if by some fluke of odd circumstances, the Senate did take the matter up and pass the bill, then the President would veto it. How many times has the House done this now, 39 times? Maybe more by the time I type this.
I am all for stating positions. But please don’t waste my time, or engage in futile posturing. How about trying something which can be accomplished? Wouldn’t that be refreshing?
