I simply pointed out that your characterization of the GOP as a group of white shoe country club types is both inaccurate and ignorant. Many of the most prominent rising stars in the GOP are minorities or women. What sets them apart from the old style race baiting, demeaning and bigoted view of minorities with their hands out wanting goodies is that they were raised with strong traditional values, the demands by their parents that they earn their success and that they believe America IS the land of opportunity.

If you think that this is still the era of the Rockefellers you are sadly mistaken.

At least CNN has some pretensions to objectivity in their coverage of the RNC. I watched MSNBC, and even though I’m a Democratic supporter of Obama, I had to laugh at their so in-your-face partisanship, including the one Republican reporter who was former adviser to the McCain campaign. Entertaining, however.

There’s difference between being ignorant and not caring about the GOP or their “rising stars.” You, to be sure, may laud them to the skies and perhaps even persuade others to support them. But, I can guarantee that the disadvantaged won’t be on their bandwagons.

I know very well silk-stockinged, country-club type Republicans, the kind who used to be characterized as Rockefeller Republicans. I count many of them as friends.

Given the militant pro abortion stand of the Democrat party, the platform, their President, their former Speaker of the House, why would there be a majority of Democrats on a CATHOLIC forum?

Oh and per your previous question, I would be happy to hear of any Democrats who are running on traditional values, against socialized medicine, against abortion, and for prosperity and growth in our country.

I do grant you have a half minority on your Presidential ticket. So let’s vote on the basis of skin color and do MLKJr proud.

No, they have names like yours and mine. A lot of them are members of the Greenwich, CT Country Club. If I could persuade a friend to invite you there when I’m in NYC, I would. I certainly haven’t the wherewithall to afford to be a member myself.

CNN’s Gloria Borger challenged former congressman Artur Davis’ “incredible 180-degree shift” from the Democratic Party to GOP convention speaker, but the GOP’s new addition had an answer ready and waiting on Tuesday night.

** “Well, Gloria, I’ll be honest with you, the easy thing would have been for me to frankly to do what you guys are doing and to be a pundit.** The easy thing for me, and no offense for what you do, but the easy thing would be to do a ‘plague on both your houses’,” Davis retorted.

  2. What Democrat is NOT for prosperity and growth in our country?
  3. Obamacare may well be the wrong policy for our country, but what is wrong with the right sort of universal health care, “socialized medicine” in your book?
  4. On the state level, my own being an example, the Democratic candidates are as anti-abortion as those of the GOP.
