I would be interested in who your Democrat minorithy “rising stars” are. In the Republican party we have Bobby Jindal - governor of Louisiana, Susan Martinez, governor of New Mexico, Nikki Haley - gov. of South carolina, Marco Rubio of Florida. All were possible VP choices. There are also a number non-minority young leaders in the party as well - Paul Ryan and Chris Christie, e.g. Who are the new generation of bright young leaders in the Democrat party ready to take the lead?

Ishii
I’d add to the list of bright young leaders … Mia Love!

Here is her speech from the convention: youtube.com/watch?v=H4BM_B0PTvM

I’d be interested in ANY up and comers in the Democrat party. Even Bob Beckel who consistently supports anything moving with a “D” by his or her name, made the comment that it’s the Republicans who have the deep bench now. The young governors, many of them minorities or female, are leading the way showing how a state can come out of big deficits, unemployment and an anti-business environment.

When you think Democrat you think Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid:eek::eek: Dinosaurs well entrenched with an amazing arrogance. And the Democrat governers…Jerry Brown anyone? I thought given that he knew this would be his swan song, he’d have to courage to face California’s dreadful economic problems but he’s capitulated once again.

I see many LEADERS in the Republican party, willing to step up and lead with some courage of conviction. I frankly don’t care about their sex or skin color but I’m certainly proud of our focus on traditional American values, faith, family and community.

Can’t wait to see the line up for the Dems…let’s celebrate abortion, gay marriage, class warfare, and shared misery.

Lisa

PS Just watched Paul Ryan…YOWZA! Love the guy!
I was hoping Olzewski would rise to the challenge and come up with some names - he is the one who seems to belittle the Republican’s crop of bright young new leaders - many of whom are being considered for vice presidency. Not sure the who the Democrats have, but the challenge is for those who dismiss the GOP young leaders - who do the Democrats have? Let any Democrat on this forum answer. I won’t hold my breath though.

Absolutely! I can’t believe I didn’t put her on the list. She is DELIGHTFUL with such a wonderful family story, poise charm and brains.

We’re developing quite a list of incredible young leaders in the party that of course hates blacks and declared a war on women. I guess they didn’t get the memo!

Here you go…Bob Casey, Jr.

John
Let’s see, he’s male, white and a few years younger than me…I’m delighted to hear fifty something is young. Oh and what about that “Bonusgate” issue that he was involved with?

Are there any more?

Yes, he is male. white…and from PA…and stomped ol Rick.

Bonusgate…what was that…I thought (What I think you mean) involved state employees
If not, it is forgotten…wait…do you mean that problem with the Orie sister(R).
Plus, remember that it is unlikely that anyone will occupy the White House without PA.

A poster dismissed the bright, young up and coming new leaders in the GOP who happen to be women or minorities. He said he had never heard of them. I challenged the poster to offer names of bright young minority leaders in the Democrat party - and you offer a white male son of an established Democrat. NOthing against white males, mind you, but if you guys dismiss our minority GOP leaders then I think its fair to ask - “who are the bright young, leaders in the Democrat party?” Minority or otherwise. I don’t think there are any. They have no new ideas, just the past, and the politics of fear and division.

GOP - Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Mia Love, Susanna Martinez.

Democrat - Bob Casey Jr.

Based on that, one could say that the GOP is the party of up and coming leaders who are minorities. The Democrat party is the party of white males.

If its a stretch, then tell me who are the great, bright young leaders of the Democrat party who happen to be minorities. Talk is cheap, oldcelt.

The whole notion of bright young leaders is a subject for discussion. Regarding minorities, the Democratic Party has had people of that description so long that we no longer notice.

John

Ryan and Condi did very well. In fact there were a lot of good speeches tonight.

In other words, you have no names. Just as I said, the Democrat party has no bright young leaders with fresh ideas. They have minorities who buy into the decades old welfare spending/identity politics philosophy of the Democrat party - gays, abortion, race baiting and welfare - to go along with the tired old hacks like Biden, Reid and Pelosi. What a party to be proud of.

Such bitterness…what will you do if Obama is re-elected?
