Not hearing alot of great things about Perry, particularly from native Texans.🤷
Well, he just won overwhelmingly in his last election and regardless of what native Texans may think about him Texas is going to go for the Republican nominee. To give the man credit he did just push through a law extending the waiting and requiring a sonogram for an abortion in Texas and defunded Planned Parenthood. There will be no perfect candidate this year, in fact, there is never a perfect candidate, but Perry is more than acceptable to me.

careful who you are hearing it from.

Record against record… Perry will trounce Obama.

The Texas record is pretty darn good.
Objectively, Texas seems to be much better managed than any other state. But like you said, I need to verify my sources. People will say anything on the internet these days…😃

I didn’t say any of it was true. I have gotten some negative feedback and I am going to process it through my validation filters and toss out the garbage. Every vile rumor typically has an element of truth to it, I just want to get a few sources together and cross -reference.

One of the things, and this may or may not be widely known, is that Perry and G.W. do not like each other. Bush back Kay Bailey Hutchenson when she ran against Perry. Not sure what the source of that beef is, or if there even is one. Maybe Bush thinks Texas governors should be term limited. 🤷

It was only the elder Bush’s who backed Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Bush 41 and Barbara.

. Perry would not be my first choice, but I would support him. But then I will support anybody that is currently running for Republican nomination.

The dirty little secret is that the Texas governor has very little power. But he gets to take credit for everything that goes good and blamed for everything that goes wrong. Regardless

Ya, the growth of Texas economy is impressive, considering it sucks everywhere else. I cannot confirm nor deny that my G.O.O.D bug out location is in or around Texas, primarily because of its strong Castle doctrine. Plus it has all of the elements to be an independent Republic if it ever came to that. Its got a great climate for agriculture, lots of oil and natural gas, and its bi-coastal. Plus they make some hellacious barbeque! I have my priorities. 😃

And of course if you want to learn humility when you move to Texas you can become Houston Astros fan.

I was a Red Sox fans back in the mid-60s when my then home, Kansas City, was without a baseball team. I pull for them now, because they’re the best hope against stopping Satans team team from getting into the playoffs.

Yech! Yankers! My wife is in NYC right now. I told her if she brings any pinstripped cra…into my house, she will go out with it.

Sounds about right. Tennessee would not elect a flaming liberal. Gore went far left and lost his own state in 2000.

Democrats have gone so far left… I dont recognize them anymore. My extended family changed parties after Clinton…they were conservative democrats… now are republicans.
My family back in Maine is so far out in the cold, they still think the Democratic Parrty is the party of JFK.
