I know at least a few of my professors have socialist sympathies. One, my academic advisor and the professor to whom I am closest, is I believe a democratic socialist. He’s a good professor and a knowledgeble historian, and I wouldn’t pretend otherwise because I disagree with his politics. I will most liekly continue to correspond with him long after I graduate .

The reason I tell you this is because I shutter to think that, should I ever run for office (never gonna happen, but hypothetically…) people like you will call me a socialist and a Marxist because I didn’t cut all contact with all my old professors and banish everyone who isn’t in close agreement with my own political views.

These aforementioned communists among many were either BHO's mentors, or were hired by him. **Can you name even two or three NORMAL people who are close personal friends of his?** Every cabinet official and czar in his administration has either been a socialist, radical feminist, pervert , racist or combination, save for defense, which he is emasculating anyway. Remember NASA? Soon our kids will not! :cool: Rob PALIN/RUBIO '12!!

Former governor of New Mexico. Libertarian. Right on the economic issues, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage. Will never be allowed to have the GOP nomination.

Good. What’s the point in being a Republican if he’s not even pro-life? It’s one of the only things they have a hope of getting right. (in my *humble *opinion) 🙂

Republican presidential candidates have used the debate over raising the nation’s borrowing limit to score points with conservative voters and insert their views into Washington’s thorniest political dispute.

But Mitt Romney, the Republican front-runner, has taken a subtler tack, avoiding the issue of the debt ceiling as he presses a more general assault on President Barack Obama’s economic record. That has attracted the attention of his GOP challengers, who have begun to accuse him of ducking the most vital issue of the campaign so far.

“The current debate is about what kind of leadership you’re going to show,” former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum said in an interview Monday. “If you’re running for president, you’ve got to show how you would handle a situation like this.”

“The debt ceiling is a gut-check time for all Republicans on spending and size of government,” said Alex Conant, spokesman for former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. “Apparently, Gov. Romney is still checking his gut to figure out where he should stand.”

Exactly.Mitt Romney has been down this road before and he being very careful.He doesn’t want to offend to many democrats because he knows to get elected he’ll probably need some of their votes.This is sad but to win this next election you’re going to have to be evasive,clever,perhaps a liar.You’ve got to be able to talk without real saying anything.You have to tell the populace that America is not in too bad of trouble.If there was a person who actually told America exactly how it is and what its going to take to fix the economy he would never get elected.There is coming a time when drastic measures are going to have to be taken but nobody wants to hear it.If a president who is elected is going to really correct this mess he is going to be severely hated by many Americans.There is going to be protests and name calling like we’ve never heard before.
 
Bachmann’s jump from six to fourteen percent in a month would have me getting nervous if I was Romney.

A new Quinnipiac Poll finds Romney leading Bachmann by 11 points–25 percent to 14 percent among likely GOP voters. By comparison, Bachmann was in 6th place in a June Quinnipiac poll of 2012 GOP contenders, with just six percent support.

According to the poll, she’s now statistically tied with Sarah Palin, who has 12 percent support in the latest poll. Rick Perry, who is openly considering a 2012 run, registers at 10 percent in the poll.

Other GOP hopefuls lag significantly behind, including Herman Cain (6 percent), Ron Paul (5 percent), Newt Gingrich (5 percent), Tim Pawlenty (3 percent), Jon Huntsman (1 percent) and Rick Santorum (1 percent).

So, you have to be a status quo politician then? People are sick of the same-old, same-old. We are tired of politician peeing on our legs and telling us its just raining.

How else will they get public support for a new program that supplies umbrellas to our needy? Stop complaining about getting peed on in the name of government charity.
