jomoco, check out this statement by the USCCB:

“Most Americans believe that abortion should be illegal except in certain limited circumstances; an overwhelming majority agrees that unmarried minors should not obtain abortions without parental knowledge or consent. Nonetheless, ***pro-abortion ***or so-called “pro-choice” groups have mounted a campaign to convince legislators and others that Americans want abortion on demand.”

Notice how they refer to pro-choice groups as “pro-abortion.”

And so do I - rightly.

No, it’s fundamentally false to deny it’s not a freewill choice to either murder or not to!

That would be a brazen lie to state otherwise, in my objective opinion.

It has everything to do with an individual’s freewill choice to sin, and be judged for their sins by God, rather than men who commit the same crime, under “special” circumstances.

I’m sorry-I didn’t realize you were the poster who believes that abortion is okay because it immediately sends children to heaven. I would not have replied had I realized so.

It is. And here in the temporal realm, we humans like two impose laws on ourselves for the sake of our physical protection. Oter people’s choices, such as the choice to kill another human being, effect others, not just the one who makes the choice. You may choose to kill or not to kill. But if that decision is left to you, I then am deprived of my right to choose whether or not to be killed. The allowance of that freedom of choice to you or anyone ellse infringes on the freedom of others, and it is at that point that the law should limit freedom of choice. Christ and the Catholic Church have no objection to the existence of temporal law. Do you? Do you think murder should be legal? Your position simply doesn’t make sense to me.

The Pennsylvania Republican issued a five-point plan aimed at reshaping the federal government, cutting taxes, removing regulatory burdens, improving capital markets, and tapping domestic energy sources to lead an economic resurgence and reduce unemployment.

I find it strange that Canada is known for being more “liberal” and the United States more “conservative” but Canada is (according to wikipedia) 43.6% Catholic and the United States is 23.9% Catholic.

I wonder what percents of that 23.9% vote Republican, Democrat or third party. :hmmm:

Let’s pray that all 23.9% of us are renewed in our faith for the upcoming election and vote with a clear conscience 🙂

That is because most Catholics have been secularized to the point where they believe that they can vote away their personal responsibility to charity and service to others.

E.P.A Chief Stands Firm as Tough Rules Loom
nytimes.com/2011/07/06/science/earth/06epa.html?_r=1&ref=science

WASHINGTON — In the next weeks and months, Lisa P. Jackson, the Environmental Protection Agency administrator, is scheduled to establish regulations on smog, mercury, carbon dioxide, mining waste and vehicle emissions that will affect every corner of the economy.

She is working under intense pressure from opponents in Congress, from powerful industries, from impatient environmentalists and from the Supreme Court, which just affirmed the agency’s duty to address global warming emissions, a project that carries profound economic implications.

The new rules will roll out just as President Obama’s re-election campaign is getting under way, with a White House highly sensitive to the probability of political damage from a flood of government mandates that will strike particularly hard at the manufacturing sector in states crucial to the 2012 election.

Congress has the authority to limit the scope of the Supreme Court and the authority and reach of the EPA. Much as I hate to say it, we need a REpublican Congress, Senate, and WHite House to reign this whole disasterous agency and “global warming” hoax in before it destroys the country.

GOP Candidate Ron Paul would abolish TSA

Ninety-five year-old women humiliated; children molested; disabled people abused; men and women subjected to unwarranted groping and touching of their most private areas; involuntary radiation exposure," Paul said. “If the perpetrators were a gang of criminals, their headquarters would be raided by SWAT teams and armed federal agents. Unfortunately, in this case the perpetrators are armed federal agents. This is the sorry situation 10 years after the creation of the Transportation Security Administration.”

More Ron Paul from earlier today:

On creating jobs: “It takes a lot. You have to change the environment. It has to be a deregulatory environment. You have to entice capital to come to the country, which means you want a strong currency. You don’t want to keep printing this (paper) money, which chases capital overseas.

“Then you have to change your tax code to bring capital back home. Some of our big corporations have all their profits overseas and they don’t want to bring it home and get charged 40 percent.”

On American manufacturing: “The big industries are the ones especially burdened by union wages. We see it in the steel industry and the auto industry. A lot of (companies in those industries) went overseas because of all the taxes and the regulations, but also (because of) the wages.”

I agree, we will need a Republican dominance to straighten out this country.

Should be top of the first page if it allows you to vote. It may not if you are a trial member, not sure.

I am not saying that a Republican dominated government WILL solve the problems (much more likely if it is a Tea Party backed Republican government), I just know that it definately WON’T happen under the Democrats. They are the ones driving the car over the cliff.

(Quote from Ron Paul, from Caldera’s post).

The problem I see in this statement is that there is almost no way to compete with so many other countries in deregulation. We can get rid of child labor laws to compete with Indonesia or Nigeria, perhaps. Abolish minimum wage (which may not be a terrible idea if replace, say, with incentives to companies that pay higher wages) Americans still won’t work as little as Chinese workers will even in a completely unregulaed market. Deregulation won’t save the American economy, only a better trained and better educated orkforce will, and better technology, more research and development, etc.

Of course we need stronger currency, given we are a nation of consumers. Maybe President Obama was hoping devalued currency would boost exports, which might’ve been clever if the US had something to export. We have what, GM? Unforunately no one else in the world wants giant shoddily made cars that waste tons of gasoline and probably wouldn’t fit on half the roads in Europe.

Yes, Mordor needs as many trained and educated orks as possible…😛
