ROMNEY: I’d like to talk about something else that President Obama has been doing. He’s been practicing crony capitalism, and if you want to get America going again –

AUDIENCE: (applause)

ROMNEY: – you’ve got to stop the spread of crony capitalism. He gives General Motors to the UAW. He takes $500 million and sticks it into Solyndra. He stacks the labor stooges on the NLRB so they can say “no” to Boeing and take care of their friends in the labor movement.

AUDIENCE: (applause)

ROMNEY: This president is the biggest impediment to job growth in this country –

AUDIENCE: (wild cheers and applause)

ROMNEY: – and we have to replace Barack Obama to get America working again.

AUDIENCE: (sustained cheers and applause)

ROMNEY: We started a number of businesses. Four in particular created 120,000 jobs as of today. We started them years ago. They’ve grown – grown well beyond the time I was there – to 120,000 people that have been employed by those enterprises. There are others we’ve been with, some of which have lost jobs. People have evaluated that since, well… (chuckles) since I ran four years ago, when I ran for governor, and those who have been documented to have lost jobs lost about 10,000 jobs. So 120,000 less ten means that we created something over a hundred thousand jobs.

ROMNEY: There’s nothing wrong with profit, by the way. That profit…

AUDIENCE: (wild cheers and applause)

ROMNEY: That profit went to pension funds, to charities. It went to a wide array of institutions. A lot of people benefited from that – and, by the way, as enterprises become more profitable, they can hire more people. I’m someone who believes in free enterprise. I think Adam Smith was right, and I’m gonna stand and defend capitalism across this country throughout this campaign. I know we’re gonna hit it hard for President Obama, but we’re gonna stuff it down his throat and point out it is capitalism and freedom that makes America strong.

AUDIENCE: (sustained cheers and applause)
 
A ticket with Romney & Gingrich would be very powerful. Fully vetted and “inoculated” against all scandals and “October surprises”. Very articulate. Not afraid to be “in your face”. The RNC may be namby-pamby, but the voters are not. You can judge by the overwhelmingly positive responses that the candidates get when they are articulate and forceful. At one point, with a forceful response on a racially-tinged attack, Gingrich received a standing ovation. That has never happened before.

Fully practiced in campaigning and articulate argumentation.

Pro-life.

With the backing of all the other candidates … from Ron Paul to Sarah Palin and from Rick Santorum to Rick Perry. And with endorsements from Ann Coulter and Chuck Norris.

Versus a ticket with Obama & Cuomo.

New York State under Cuomo is a basket case.

And we have not yet even counted up all the Solyndra’s and SunPower’s.

And the Larry Sinclairs and Donald Youngs and Frank Marshall Davises.

I’m not so sure about that. Just read some of the posts on this forum and I get the idea there is still plenty of class envy alive and well, no matter what they call it. There are those that want to guarantee outcome of jobs and opportunities, etc. They see no difference in those who make wise choices and those who do not. They just want it to be “fair”. When is it written that life is fair?

I’m beginning to see signs that the black community may not be so supportive.

The United States may not be perfect but it’s a lot better than Rwanda and Haiti.

Those hand dug tunnels from Mexico to Texas bring people INTO the United States, not people out of the United States.

The question in today’s environment and economic times with so many still suffering while the rich get richer, is not a matter of his wealth or envy of it. But rather is about fairness.

In addition you can be rich and still “get” the rest of America. But when someone says as Romney said that making over $300,000 in speaking fees was not a lot of money, people question in these economic times whether he “gets” it.

Bottom line the Romney tax issue brings to the forefront and illustrates an issue on the minds of many Amercians today.

Well, it’s not an issue of whether Romney regards $300,000 as a lot of money or not, but rather should Clinton be able to make $75 million in “speakers fees” by trading on his government service.

Clinton >> $75,000,000 and that’s ok.

Obama >> millions in income and in special real estate favors.

And not a single word of criticism from the left.

Not one.

So, let us vet the Democrats as well as we are vetting the Republicans.

Let us look at every association that the Democrats have.

The mainstream media didn’t do that in the 2008 election runup.

No one criticized that Obama’s campaign got access to sealed court records and statements from the ex-wives of his opponents.

Well, let’s open ALL the records on Mr. Obama. And see how the voters like what they see.

It’s the only fair thing to do.

No double standards; no special treatment.

If Gingrich can pull off Florida, it might be lights out for Romney.
 
Plus there are 2 more debates between now and the FL primary. Plenty of time for Gingrich to serve up some more reality TV sound bites to hungry crowds.
 
It’s looking increasingly like Gingrich may get the nomination. We’ll see.

In my case, it doesn’t matter, because I’ll vote for a slime mold before I’ll vote for Obama. I will vote for whoever is running against him.

There will be a debate tonight.

Interesting that Romney has succeeded in placing his taxes off the table for tonight’s debate by announcing he will release them tomorrow. Tuesday is the State of the Union by the way, if Romney times it right, he won’t be on the front page. Smart moves on his part.

I had hoped that I wouldn’t have to vote for Obama, but if Gingrich is the GOP candidate, I have no choice but to vote for the President and contribute to his campaign. Gingrich is wholly unpalatable to me for all the usual reasons.
