David Brooks, the self-described conservative…more social structure…more support. Same with David Frum…

The Davids are Democrats. I wish they would just wake up and smell the coffee.
😉 Their statements don’t sound particularly conservative. Whether they are really Democrats I am not sure.

I am in the process of sorting people out as liberal/Democrat and conservative/Republican based not on what they call themselves, but rather what they say and what they do.

I mean, Obama has said he sees a “purple America” and considers himself a uniter…and the words and the results have been less than spectacular.

I am going to start calling myself a multi-millionaire and the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots. Ya! Thats it. That’s the ticket. 😃

He really said that?

It’s hard to think of him as a uniter when I cannot think of any conservative who likes him. 😛

Again, it depends on your measure of “pro-life.” Did he enforce any abortion restrictions? Last I checked they were still doing abortions in Massachusetts. Just saying.
Well, actually outlawing abortion is unfortunately impossible with Roe vs. Wade.
History tells us that a third party vote goes for naught and in this case, it helps Obama just as it helped Clinton.
I know. That’s the reason I’m mortified by the prospect of a Gingrich candidacy.
Since I don’t believe “nothing” will get done, only very little, I am a big fan of gridlock. The less the federal government does, the better.
I can respect that. 🙂
All this is precisely why Democrats are hoping Gingrich wins.
Yep.

Romney Leads Among Latino Voters in Florida, Poll Finds:

This surprises me, I thought with Gingrich’s more lenient ‘‘red card’’ system, Hispanic voters would more likely go to him.

What we want is for LIBERALS to vote for a third-party candidate.

NOT for a Conservative voter to vote for a third-party candidate.
As I defy labels, I guess that doesn’t apply to me. I am not a Republican and only conservative in accord to some definitions. I definitely have no desire to conserve the status quo.

My guess would be, and it’s only a guess mind you, that his call to make “English the official language” seems a bit too mean-spirited.
With all due respect, what is mean-spirited about having the native language of a country as the official language? Other countries do it. French-speaking Canada has all official documents and contracts written in both French and English.

Fair point but I don’t understand the bilingual analogy.

On this Feast of Conversion of St.Paul , those who want the nation to have leaders strong enough to take on the threats of Iran , China and Islamic terrorism as well as chaos in domestic economy and morals could have a leader who was oyal enough to bring up the name of Bl.John Paul 11 , during the last debate .

Media seemed to have tottally ignored that !

Yet , we don’t have to !

Thank God that there is atleast one among the candidates , who can read the sign of the times , to know that taking on complex world situations would need great amount of help of heaven !

Gingrich’s wife , being in the choir at the Shrine Of Immaculate Conception too - may be the merciful sign , to tell us , which way our ears are to turn !

Supporters of the other Paul - Ron Paul 🙂 , hopefully would see enough in common with steps in mutual understandings and thus, to give Obama , a merciful return , to the barracks , to be able to contemplate and repent the extent of his persecution of The Lord !

Romney too , hopefully would see the light , to fall from the horse of an organisation , that persecutes The Lord , through deceitful conversions and accepting , in humility that the nation is at a point , when it is esp. important , to have the reins be in hands that are in Him !

May our nation, each of us and esp. those in need , be blessed through prayers of the holy St.Paul and Bl.John Paul 11 !

I could see where Castro thinks our election process is stupid. In Cuba he would have had all the Republican contenders shot and he would be reelected in a record landslide.

So your point is, and I may well have missed it in that post, that singing in the choir is a “sign of the times?”

Personally, I do not think it a selling point that his current wife, after he left his second wife during serious illness…again, who was a twenty-seven year old staffer that Gingrich had an affair with. (he was fifty), who now sings in the choir. I don’t see why that should be anything but a warning sign for me. I still count character as a necessary qualification for office. In this respect, I have more in common with the current president than this particular candidate.

**Independents abandoning Romney according to national polls **
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll (via The Political Wire) shows Mitt Romney’s popularity has dropped dramatically with an unfavorable rating at 49% and favorable rating at 31%.
It’s even worse among independents: 51% don’t view him favorably while just 23% do.
Jonathan Chait: “The Obama campaign would almost certainly still prefer to run against Gingrich. But the electability gap between the two leading contenders is dwindling. No wonder more and more conservatives are frantically casting about for a new candidate to jump in and save the day.”
