Lol, it’s nonsense. On both parts.
Yeah, but … that’s how these folks are “thinking”.

No joke.

That’s what these folks are openly advocating.

May be word-twisting to you … but they feel perfectly justified in saying and be proponents of those ideas.

The problem with polling independents now is, traditionally they’re undecided until the last few weeks before the election.

However, there is a consistency in what they reject and accept in political candidates, and rigidity isn’t one of them.

Yes, but that’s not what I was saying as Ishii was asking about. Our southern border and debt is more of a threat to us than Iran. I find conservatives sincerety lacking when they complain about the runaway spending but are unwilling to bring the troops back and protect our own border. Which would be much cheaper than protecting other countries borders.

Lol, are you suggesting Romney isn’t rigid?

Getting back to the debate the other night, I thought Santorum’s answer to the question of how his religious faith would influence his decisions as president, was the best.

Over all however, Romney clearly won and will appeal to more independent’s in the general election, should he make it that far.

Jim
Yes, I found it frustrating as I am really pulling for Gingrich. I don’t know what happened to him that night. I think it’s Romney from here on out. If Gingrich pulled off FL there would have been a CHANCE for him but I really don’t see him taking FL now.

It’s going to be the wooden Romney.

Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio Warn Republicans On Losing Hispanic Voters:
Senior Republicans including the brother of the former president George Bush have warned the party to avoid using “harsh, intolerable and inexcusable” language about illegal immigration or risk alienating Latino voters.

The Florida senator, Marco Rubio, and the state’s former governor Jeb Bush made their appeal before Tuesday’s primary, being contested by Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

The Republican frontrunners clashed over illegal immigration in a debate earlier this week. The issue is emotive in Florida, which has the third largest Latino population in America.

Latinos make up 13% of Florida’s 11.2 million registered voters, according to data from the Florida Division of Elections, compiled by the Pew Hispanic Center.
Code:
“We must admit there are those among us that have used rhetoric that is harsh and intolerable and inexcusable,” Rubio said in a speech at the Hispanic Leadership Network in Miami on Friday.
Code:
“And we must admit, myself included, that sometimes we’ve been too slow to condemn that language for what it is.”

Bush also urged Republicans to temper their comments. “Hispanic people hear these debates and I think you turn them off. It’s not a good thing,” he said.

Haha…you are “pulling for Gingrich” because you support Obama. That is the best Romney endorsement you could give. 👍 😛

Being humble and forgiving like the Mother they love is one value that many persons of Latino heritage seems to want to emulate , AFIK .

Like much else in media these days , they might have added more salt to what Gingric meant in comments about them !

Not so sure that Hispanic community can ignore the real threat from Mormonism though ; hope they know about the heretical beliefs against the bl.Mother , in the mormon power structure that also has a not so distant history of devaluing of women’s lives , with its advocacy of poly gamy as well as bias against persons of color !

Thus , endorsing a candiate who has embraced a system of such values / lies would be indirectly asking for destruction of faith and not heeding the recent warnings of Holy Father , on the real possibilty of same , with its attendant destruction of man and nature !

A Three for Life Team that agrees , in heart , to cherish and protect life - natuaral as well as supernatuaral , a Newt-Ron - Santo team , in whatever format , in a manner , that the head and tail agreeing , to take up all good sugestions from the middle and Romney agreeing with his expertise in media control , to atone for all small and large transgressions in this area -

Not too late for such an unfolding !

All religions are not the same, but we have had plenty of non- and even anti-Catholic presidents in the history of our nation. There is not a religious test for office, so I find your comments to be highly disturbing.

I will follow Archbishop Chaput’s guidance on the matter from the 2008 campaign:

catholicnewsagency.com/news/catholic_leaders_respond_to_mitt_romneys_speech_on_mormonism/

“Romney, unlike Kennedy in Houston, does not separate his faith from informing his citizenship, and by extension, his vision of public service,” he wrote. "Romney, offered a more reasonable and fruitful explanation of how faith actually works in public service, regardless of one’s political party,” the archbishop explained.

Archbishop Chaput also added further comment on the role on the role of religion in politics saying, “Religious officials shouldn’t and can’t determine public policy. No sensible person would disagree with that. But that’s very different from claiming — as some people now do — that religious believers, communities and leaders should be silent in public debate or stay out of public issues.”

While none of the Catholic leaders offered their endorsement of Romney, both Donahue and Chaput mentioned that they see his Mormon faith as a non-issue.

Their comments on his Mormon faith are well summarized by Archbishop Chaput: "Catholics, like most other people, want to elect someone who has the skills, the moral character and the real commitment to the common good that will enable him or her to lead.”

I may be young to the political seen, but the itchy trigger finger of the Republican party sure does bother me, nearly as bad as the Democratic party’s desire to push abortions.
Probably for good reason, as anyone who brushes off the killing of pregnant women and children as “collateral damage” when dropping bombs needs to take a second look at his own “pro-life” position.

You’re making the same mistake that Ron Paul does - which is to say that we must “bring our troops back” to protect our border. And if we don’t bring them back, then we can’t protect our border. We can do some things to scale back our committments abroad and save money, but protecting our border doesn’t have to come at the expense of protecting our interests in the middle east - such as the flow of oil.

We may have different opinions and I might say you’re mistaken or wrong, but I won’t question your sincerety. I would hope you’d afford me the same courtesy.

Ishii

So you agree with our war in Afghanistan?
I’m glad we went in and have done what we did. I think we’ve lost enough lives and have seen what nearly 20,000 injured? It’s time to come home. We should be prepared financially, physically and mentally in case we need to defend ourselves again.

I do not believe that is what Ron Paul said, nor what I am saying. I’m saying our southern border is becoming more and more dangerous. The longer we ignore it the worse it’s going to get. We don’t have to being our troops home to protect it, we should bring our troops home to protect it. I don’t really buy into the, “we have to protect middle east oil” idea anymore. If the middle east wants to get rich they will protect it themselves.

Oil will mean nothing if we can’t afford it. We are either broke or were not, when your broke, a true conservative knows that all spending is on the table. Even military actions. I don’t want to cut military, I just want to slow things down for awhile till we can get our heads above the water again.

I don’t see Obama, Romney, Santorum probably Gingrich as well taking our financial problems serious.

Oh, folks don’t care that he’s Mormon. I could care less, I’ve got a million other reasons to not support the guy but his religion isn’t one of them.
