** Rep. Allen West Hints He Would Serve as VP**
Florida Rep. Allen West said today he is “always willing and ready to serve my country,” when asked whether he would consider taking the Number 2 spot on a Republican presidential ticket, according to Politico.

Responding to a question from CNN’s Soledad O’Brien, West — a retired Army lieutenant colonel — said: “As far as the vice president thing, you know, who knows where the future lies, because it wasn’t too long ago, you know, I was sitting in the desert of Kandahar, Afghanistan, and now I’m here talking with you.”

“But, you know, I am always willing and ready to serve my country in whatever capacity that the American people would desire,” he said.

On Saturday, 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told Fox News that West should definitely be in the conversation for the job.

“You know who I’d like to see considered for the VP slot is Colonel Allen West,” she said. “In this very tumultuous time across our world, someone who has served in our military or at least has intimate knowledge of the way the military works and should work, perhaps by having a close family member serve, someone like that — like Colonel Allen West, who went to the school of hard knocks. He should be one who should be considered seriously for VP.”

I know that if one of the ultra conservatives such as Paul takes the nomination, I just will not vote this time.

This might make me unpopular, but I am moderately conservative.

I disagree. I think that Obama’s policies and plans for America are such that we have an obligation to do what we can to defeat him. If that means voting for Ron Paul then so be it. If it means voting for Romney or Santorum then so be it. Even Gingrich.

I agree with this. I like Santorum and perhaps Romney next, but any one of the four will be much better for our country’s future. Indeed, I find likeable parts from each of them. I like a lot of what Ron Paul has to say, for example.

In any case, whether it’s the economy, foreign policy, or social issues, Obama has all the wrong views and has made a bunch of mistakes.

God bless America!

My boss is so confidant Obama will win that he gave me 10 to 1 odds. Have I mentioned that I LOVE overconfident Obama supporters. 😃

Watched Obama’s news conference, wishing Romney ‘good luck’ with a sly/ smug smile .

The Quran burning incident is another episode of the fanatical belief systems that the President elect would have to deal with very sensitively and if Romney becomes the nominee, can see how the Obama support in Baptist belt can be effectively used , to powerfully highlight the unpalatable sides of Romney’s belief systems , such as God being only man , how Mormons become Gods , baptising the deceased into Mormon faiths etc : to explicitly show the vast divide with both Jews and Islamic faiths as well as Christinaity and hope it would not be too late by then , to wish that many others too had cared about these issues , in time !

Oh, I hope, hope, hope Obama takes the religious bigot route. Unfortunately, I don’t think he will be that stupid or ignorant.

Whatever he is, I would never call him an ultra conservative in today’s environment.
Who would you call ultra-conservative? Bear in mind I was raised in a town where a member of the John Birch society was my government teacher and taught Birch doctrine instead of the textbook He put communism on thr far right and JBS on the far left!

I agree with you on Ron Paul, in some aspects libertarians are very liberal and in others very conservative.

Mitt Romney is your second choice? Are you aware that he forced Catholic Hospitals in Massachusetts to provide abortifacient contraception to people? IE: Morning After Pills

Here’s Lifesitenews:
lifesitenews.com/news/archive/ldn/1951/20/5120905
Here’s a Boston Catholic blog:
bostoncatholicinsider.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/did-romney-lie-about-cardinal-omalley-to-the-nation-during-the-wednesday-debate/

The story of these Catholic news sites was also covered by plenty of secular ones… Boston Globe, American Spectator, the Weekly Standard. If you want any of those links… just ask.

Here’s how one political blogger put it:
Romneycare contained exactly the same provisions on contraception that Obamacare did before last week’s compromise was announced. That’s right: Romneycare can now accurately be portrayed as falling to the left of Obamacare on the contraception issue. This could very well be the issue that finally galvanizes the religious right, especially in the South. Imagine how Santorum could use that on Super Tuesday.

Mitt Romney to the LEFT of Obama on contraception. From here:

westernprogressive.com/2012/02/romneys-contraception-position-as-governor-more-liberal-than-obamas.html

In my view, what Mitt Romney did to the Catholic Church in Massachusetts deserves temporal punishment. And I’m going to give him some temporal punishment this whole election. I don’t see how a practicing Catholic can vote for Romney.** I don’t see how any Christian could vote for him… seeing as he’s on the same page as Obama when it comes to violating a Church’s right to not sin.**

I’ve said I’d vote for a potted plant over Obama. Every day I am reminded why we need to unload him. I am happy with ANY of the candidates in contrast to Obama. Hopefully more people will also vote for more conservative senators and governors because of their disgust with Obama’s overreaching ideology. We need to take the “keys” away from him.

Exactly. I have been trying to argue for the point of view that Obama’s policies are so bad for this country that we need to oust him. Given what has transpired since January and the HHS mandate, I think the idea both parties are the same has proven to be a false one (as if it needed proving) - but the Ron Paul supporters and lukewarm types have no excuse now to not get behind the eventual GOP nominee. This is not an election to sit out in a fit of anger because your favorite candidate didn’t win. Also (and perhaps more importantly) this is not an election to be cynical, apathetic or lukewarm. Much is at stake this election and although people say this every election, I truly think this is one of the most important elections in a long time. We need to settle on a nominee and then focus on beating Obama. With his victory in Ohio over Santorum, it looks more and more like it will be Romney as the nominee.

One thing is for sure - we need to focus on beating Obama and wind up the nomination process. With Romney’s win in Ohio I think he is looking more and more like the nominee. Now we need to focus our efforts on beating Obama. Hopefully we can elect some conservative senators as well.

Obama loses Dem primary in 15 Oklahoma counties

The following is submitted by the Randall Terry for President Campaign:

Mr. Terry states:
Code:
"My message was simple: Obama promotes the murder of babies by abortion, and is attacking the Church and religious liberty. Knowing this, a Christian cannot vote for him in good conscience.
Code:
"Obama's promotion of the murder of unborn babies could cost him the White House in 2012. I will run in at least 6 swing states, and be a voice for the babies who are dying under Obama's policies. If these numbers hold true in those states, the plight of the babies will cause Obama to lose the White House in 2012. How's that for the most critical 'social issue' of our times being the driving force of an election? Obama's promotion of murder is his Achilles heal."
What follows is the script of a robo call that went out to tens of thousands of Democrat households:
"Pro-Life Democrat, today you can use your vote to be a voice for unborn babies.
Code:
"Obama promotes the killing of babies by abortion; and has attacked the Church and religious liberty by demanding we pay for drugs that murder the unborn. You can send a message to Obama and the world, that there are still pro-life democrats who will use their vote to defend the unborn and religious liberty. The Democrat primary is today. Please, vote Randall Terry for President ... for the sake of the babies. Paid for by Randall Terry for President."
As of right now, with 91% of the precincts reporting, Mr. Terry has carried 12 counties, and defeated Obama in another 2.

With 91% of Precincts reporting, Mr. Terry currently has 18% of the vote.

If Mr. Terry receives 15% of the vote, he will receive delegates at the Democrat National Convention.

As of right now, Mr. Terry has beaten Obama, and come in first in twelve counties. They are as follows:

Beaver County 38.8 to 26.5
Simmeron County 32.1 to 20.4
Roger Mills County 40 to 22.4
Grants County 34.9 to 28.5
Grear County 37.8 to 30.2
Bryan County 36.5 to 29.7
McCurtain County 31.6 to 27.1
Texas County 36 to 28
Pusmhmataha 29.5 to 25.8
Dewy County 35.8 to 19.6
Washita County 32.8 to 24.6
Harper County 36.7 to 23.8

Mr. Terry Comes in 2nd, and Obama 3rd (Behind Jim Rogers):
Ellis County / Rogers 28.5, Terry 27.8, Obama 27.1
Coal County / Rogers 30.3, Terry 23, Obama 22.4

Okay, we’ve gotten Super Tuesday out of the way. :coolinoff:

With 86% of the precincts reporting, CNN is calling Alaska for Romney. This gives him six victories yesterday. Santorum took three states and Gingrich hung in to win Georgia, which he represented while in Congress.

Estimated delegate totals at present, with 1144 delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination, are:

Romney - 396
Santorum - 158
Gingrich - 103
Paul - 60

cnn.com/election/2012/primaries.html

Gingrich is vowing to stay in the race. It will be interesting to see whether he, or Santorum, will win the deep South states of Alabama and Mississippi next week.

This is hilarious!

Well, it is Oklahoma, after all. :o

Interestingly, Randall Terry may have won a delegate in Oklahoma. If so, it would deprive Obama a unanimous re-nomination.

The Democrat establishment will not allow Randall Terry to be the nominee because of his position on abortion unfortunately, even if there was not an incumbent Democrat president.

Ohio turnout was up 100,000 from 2008.
I’m surprised it wasn’t higher. In 2008, McCain pretty much had the nomination wrapped up by the time the Ohio primary took place (March 4th.) He won every county in Ohio, and his victories that day secured him the Republican nomination.

This year, the Republican field is still an open contest. I would think there would be more interest.
