O patient Virgin and Martyr, you were a model of peaceful endurance as you accepted the cruel tortures imposed upon you. Your face revealed peace as the sword and blades destroyed your body. Help me, dear saint, that I may also live in the quiet acceptance of sorrows and trials, bearing them in the name of Jesus our Savior. I ask your intercession that anger, the desire for vengeance, and resentments against those who have offended me will not afflict my soul. Inspire me to offer my other cheek to those who harm me. Help me to obtain the special grace which I ask during this novena: perfect eyesight for odiambo. Amen.

When your body was surrounded by wood and oil, and fire was engulfing you, you prayed ardently for your torturers, that they might repent of their evil deeds. Help me, dear saint, that by imitating you in charity, I may develop a mild disposition and gentle benevolence toward all, though I am surrounded by work, pressures, and criticisms. May the presence of stress and conflicts not take from me the desire to be in union with God and savor His constant presence. Help me obtain the grace that I seek during this novena: perfect eyesight for odiambo. Amen.
