To me a political rally is one that is done during an election campaign to garner support for the Candidate.

Can a political rally be different from the definition that I gave for this event?

Poltical rallies are done throughout the career of a politician, not just during the election season.

When they hold gatherings as such, supporters are given front row places where their cheers are sure to drown out the boos.

It’s the reason those who were shot were supporters of Gabrielle Gifford’s and not opponents or hecklers.

I’m not so sure about that. The shooter shot Gifford at point blank range and that definitely means as front row as you can get. I seriously don’t think he was ever a supporter of her.

Why are people using this thread to speak ill of our heroic dead - namely Judge Roll??

If it matters - Chief Judge Roll was a Catholic, a Bush appointee, a former prosecutor and had a reputation for being very conservative. He saw nothing wrong with being friends with a moderate to liberal Jewish Democrat, and neither do I. I am beyond shocked that anyone would suggest he was unworthy of receiving the sacraments, especially given that his pastor and presumptive confessor obviously thinks he is.

Only one person in this thread suggested that there is anything whatsoever wrong with attending a political event featuring a pro-abortion politician. Perhaps you should ask Jim why he believes Judge Roll was not worthy of receiving the sacraments rather than a blanket condemnation of everybody else participating in the thread

I asked because there seems to be an inconsistancy and Bishop Tobin is one who has
told Catholics who support pro-choice politicians, not to receive Holy Comminion.
