Rhode Island bishop: Obama’s Tuscon compassion ‘meaningless’ in light of abortion support

It was a democrat rally where they were their in support of her. In fact, Judge Roll was firends with Gabrielle Gifford. Whether he voted for her or not, is unknown, but he was still supporting a pro-choice politician, so what’s the difference?
Secondly even if said Catholics did vote for her, no one has suggested that they be denied a Catholic funeral mass. Even Ted Kennedy was entitled to a PRIVATE Funeral Mass.

No one did, because the Bishop Of Tuscon, didn’t and he’s their Bishop. However, what if they lived in Phoenix instead, Bishop Olmstead’s dioceses?

Ted Kennedy went to confession and received the last rite before his death.

So, it may be he confessed to his support of abortion?

Anyway, it just seems inconsistent and I wonder why Bishop Tobin and others have not called for refusing a Catholic Funeral Mass for the Catholics who were killed at the pro-choice politicians rally?

It was not a democrat rally at all. She is not up for reelection as she just won her seat. It was an event where she would listen to the needs of her constitutients.

As for the Judge, do you have evidence that in his role as Judge that abortions were permitted in specific trials?

I have to wonder if these questions you are raising have more to do with tone of this thread in regard to abortion and an attempt on your part to derail it?

You see what you want to see, Catherina. If you read the article about the meeting between Obama and the Dalai Lama, you will see that the President did not make concessions to China’s “sensibilities,” which were very angered that Obama would even meet with the Dalai Lama.

Nor did the President counsel the Dalai Lama to get along with China.

You also have a clearer view of current history. One need only contrast the way The Cinese Presiden tand the Dali Lama were treated By Obama as opposed to way they were treated by Bush to see where Obamas priorities are.

America (USA) and relativism as central to their belief system.

I’m not so surface as to judge our President by the style of reception he offered to our official guests. I’d think that the Dalai Lama wouldn’t want a posh celebration with Hollywood stars and such in attendance. He seems too humble a man to want that.

The way I’d judge is not by the tinsel being hung or the glitter in the ballroom, but by the substance of the discussions between the President and him and the priorities of both men with regard to Tibet.

But, that’s just me. I’m not that impressed with the bling as a criteria of what is important vis-a-vis a visitor’s country…

As infamous as the action of enforced abortions is (among so many atrocities in China),
obama’s choice to ignore the issue is beyond irresponsible. Yet obama was fully
supportive of late-term abortion in Illinois so his neglect is neither benign nor surprising.

Late-term abortions can and often do result in the delivery of a live infant.
If obama is that comfortable with murdering a newborn rather than giving
medical attention to newborns - (obama’s stand), this nation is in grave danger.

So the president is into infanticide? No big deal???

I understand your concerns. But, that has what to do with EstesBob’s remarks about the difference in the receptions offered to President Hu and to the Dalai Lama? :confused:
