My condolences and prayers for his family to be comforted at this time.
 
Quickly is right. I’ve always been impressed when people of his age die with their boots on.
 
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
 
He was a man of character. And an honorable veteran. Eternal rest grant him, O Lord.

A lot of people agree with you on that but Rand Paul said “we’re very lucky John McCain’s not in charge, because I think we’d be in perpetual war.”

Yes that’s about right.

I admire a lot about John McCain, but in the 20 years or so that I’ve been following him he never met a war he didn’t like.
 
I really am not a fan of his political persona. I thought he politically did more harm than good. But I respect him. Whatever one says of him one cannot say he doesn’t command respect. I respect the man, and his life. He was a patriot, a warrior, a scholar, and a gentleman.
 
it’s hard to say what McCain would have done if he had become President. Sometimes people talk tough and aggressively but do not act accordingly, such as Reagan, who was more of a peacemaker than a warmonger, after all.

Despite his flaws, John McCain was a man of principle, courage, honor, and a true patriot who loved his country more than his political party. May he rest in peace.

He had GBM. Which is probably the worst cancer you can have.
I must say I wasn’t surprised. I’m more surprised it lasted this long.

It was announced that Senator McCain will have a funeral with full honors at the Washington National Cathedral. It will undoubtedly be very grand - and beautiful. They create liturgies that are unsurpassed. I have been to many.
