I support Romney’s decision. The operative point was this man was openly gay. Either Romney understands the homosexual act to be intrinsically evil or he does not. Asking his staff to rise to a higher morality is a good thing.
Yes, there used to be a term called moral turpitude. Not only a legal unerstanding but a social one as well. People did not compartmentalize their moral life from everything else. Bad examples make no difference today. Bad moral living is some type of minimal dimension that has no bearing on any other aspect of life apparently.

I guess it is part of post modernism.

The Obama-Muslim-Brotherhood meme serves only one purpose - to discredit a loyal and patriotic American who just happens to disagree with conservatives on the proper role of government regarding economic and social issues. So why go there?

The Democratic Party has not adopted abortion as its central focus of devotion. Women would find that repugnant and women are more likely to be Democrats regardless of their age (gallup.com/poll/120839/women-likely-democrats-regardless-age.aspx). So unless you believe that most women are inherently evil and are motivated to kill their babies - then something else must be going on. Why don’t you try to figure that one out?

As for being “orphaned” - please, let me wipe your tears. As far as I can tell, you have totally bought into the Republican memes of individualism and “economic freedom” - so social issues are not the only reason why you don’t fit with the Democratic party.

The truth is - the Democratic party DOES promote ideas that smack of a “European-style of socialism” and so does the Catholic Church. Where do you think the Europeans got their ideas about universal healthcare and the dignity and rights of workers? Not Ayn Rand.
The proper role of government is to bypass Congress and give borrowed US taxpayer money to foreign agencies who have publicly declared that we are their enemy? I know there is debate room regarding the proper role of government, but this is a stretch. And if you read Obama’s memoires and examine his actions, he isn’t an “America-loving patriot”. He hates this country, and that it patently obvious in how he treats it and how he speaks about it.

And if American Catholics like European socialism so much, they can just pack their bags and move their. Why subject the rest of us to that decrepit and immoral social system?

I think you have it right. Is there a reason why a foreign advisor is to be shunned if he’s divorced or living with a woman, or even with a man. How does his private life have an impact on his ability to get the job done especially if he does his job well? “Bad” is. of course, your fair call and you have a right to say that; but it may not be the opinion of others.

Ah, a candid admission by half. I never doubted that the radical Obama administration does promote European-style socialism (though I think it’s to the left of even that, as even Angela Merkel rejected Obama policies) But the Church doesn’t. Do you really think the Church supports socialism? Read the Social Encyclicals and you’ll see that it most vehemently does not.
Hardly a radical admission to say that starting with Newt Gingrich, the GOP has made a point to use inflammatory labels like “socialist” and “communist” against Democrats at every opportunity. Therefore, it is no surprise that they should label basic economic justice “socialism”. Unfortunately, since the Catholic Church supports the same sort of economic principles (progressive taxation, universal health care & workers rights) by extension it also falls under the same false label.

As for all your “proof” that Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood, since it comes entirely from biased right-wing sources, the burden is still on you to produce some kind of objective evidence that it is real. I’m not going to waste my time dignifying some stupid witch hunt.

Finally, given that women of all ages are more likely to be Democrats, that means Democrats of all ages are more likely to be women. Therefore, you can’t reconcile your claim that abortion is “the central focus of devotion” for the Democratic party without accusing women of being devoted to abortion - which is totally absurd and unnatural. So again, I ask - What’s going on? Why do you think women want to keep the government out from under their skirts? The way some folks frame it, you’d think it is because women enjoy getting pregnant and then killing off their babies.

So you think that a biased left wing source will provide this?:rotfl:

Tell me, how exactly is Mitt Romney going to correct this travesty of injustice that you describe? Also, I would like to know where in his memoirs Obama states that he hates this country? Maybe he hates the neocon vision of America as global bullies - but so do I.

I could just as easily say that if you hate the government so much, pack up your bags and move to Somalia - I hear they don’t have one.

So you think there are no other sources?

But of course, biased right-wing sources have nothing to do with all the conspiracy garbage about Obama that is out there. You can print anything when facts don’t matter to your readers. 🤷

When the shoe is on the other foot it is OK? How can you honestly defend a self admitted liberal protectionist press?

You can’t complain about the liberal press as long as Rupert Murdoch’s “fair and balanced” media empire is still intact. Sometimes I wonder how conservatives can watch Fox News all day and then claim that main stream media is liberal? The highest rated media outlet in the United States providing an unmitigated and unrelenting platform for GOP talking points, and you want us to believe the liberals are controlling the message. Really?

Point 1. I’m not the one who introduced the word “socialist” into this conversation. You did, and attributed socialist policies to the Dem party. I merely followed up on that.
Point 2. I did provide objective evidence that it’s real. They named names and positions. I can’t produce those people bodily. You produced nothing. Saying it’s a stupid witch hunt proves nothing. Judgment for Ridgerunner.
Point 3. You haven’t even demonstrated that women “of all ages” are more likely to be Democrats. Actually, it’s more of a “marriage gap” than it is a “gender gap”. 15% more married women are Republican than Democrat, and is about the same percentage of married men who are Repubs. 11% more unmarried women are Democrat than Republican. One cannot say that independents are either Democrat or Republican, or they wouldn’t be “independents”. One could speculate why that “marriage gap” exists, and some have done so. But I won’t do it in this post.

Yessiree - survey says - over 90% of journalists are self-admitted liberals.

If Fox is getting the viewership it is because people are sick and tired of journalistic monopoly.

And when liberals go on Fox and have to defend there positions, they fall flat in the face of logic. Liberalism is very emotional.

Oh, God help me, I can’t resist this. Conservatives CAN’T watch Fox News “all day” because they’re working.

Then what are you doing blogging all day! Get to work! 😛
Possibly you have not noticed the big gaps; sometimes in days or weeks. Besides, I own the place, and know what needs to be done, by whom, and when. Ever wonder why I sometimes post late in the evening? Same computer. Some people take breaks and do nothing during them. Some people take off afternoons to play golf. I do this. 🙂

Actually, I already have land in Costa Rica and I am looking at a purchase in Brazil. One step ahead of you. 👍

But do you really run, on ridges?

I met some recreational “mountain marathoners” in Colorado. Serious business!

That’s why his admin has upped the number of predator strikes and homicides in countries we were never at war with because didn’t like Bushes policies he has followed them to the letter.

I have run on ridges all my life, but not necessarily in that way. My wife is from Indiana and she considered Ozarkers like myself to be “Ridgerunners”; something they seem to say in Indiana about anyone from south of Indiana. It’s perhaps a bit less perjorative than calling someone a “hillbilly”. But it’s a distinction, as near as I can tell, without difference.

But it’s not entirely inconsistent with my view of life. In some sense, we’re all “Ridgerunners” (you know, as in “I have fought the fight, I have run the race, I have kept the faith”) We try to stay on the high ground where we can see what lurks in the woods below and the ridges alongside.

In the Ozarks, they say “It’s not that the mountains are so high, it’s that the hollows are so deep”, and there’s a great deal of truth to that. I learned long ago as a kid that one might run the ridges late in the day, even at dusk, and be able to see. But if one descended into the hollows, it was nighttime, where and when the critters lurked; coyotes, catamounts, feral dogs or wolves, and whatever else did a heavy-sounding “pitter patter” in the dark. Being able to “see” is always of some consequence in avoiding malice and snares, including those of the Enemy. That’s what we all try to do, all our lives long.

So that’s the tale, whole and entire.
