There is also no such thing as divorce. There is no such thing as homosexual marriage.

According to Grover Norquist, Romney’s lack of leadership and pandering to fringe groups is exactly what makes him qualified to be President of the United States:Yeah, this makes Romney look bad any way you spin it. Does he seriously not understand that fringe groups do not represent the majority? Dumb political move, and I’m not even a Romney fan.
OH? Then, what’s all the brouhaha about? Much ado about nothing? There is no such thing as homosexual marriage.
Even if true, how is this an item of significance, even if it’s inconsistent?Agreed. And it shows how much the right-wing fringe is able to influence the Republican Party. The party is really shooting itself in the foot, letting these litmus tests eliminate the best and brightest. Interesting it was the National Review (I jokingly call it the White Nationalists Review) and Daily Caller (aka FOX) that successfully put the public pressure on the Romney campaign.
Follow the thread.OH? Then, what’s all the brouhaha about? Much ado about nothing?![]()
The Daily News and its competition the NY Post are the perfect tabloids. I read the News when I’m in NYC. Out of maybe 100 pages, about three pages of hard news, two pages of right-wing editorials and Vox Populi, then 25% city crimes, 25% celebrity goings-on, and the rest is sports. If you really want to see slanted news, then read the New York Daily News. They make FOX News and the NYT look like amateur night!
The thread isn’t a discussion of gay marriage, but is about Richard Grenell.Follow the thread.
The only place I was able to find any reporting on your assertion that Obama has members of the Muslim Brotherhood in his administration was from “The Blaze” - which according to Media Matters has been quite active in the right-wing media fear mongering department over the Muslim Brotherhood.Even if true, how is this an item of significance, even if it’s inconsistent?
After all, Obama dumped Van Jones when it became public that Jones was an admitted communist. On the other hand, Obama still has Muslim Brotherhood members in high places in his government, including Homeland Security. Not exactly a consistent approach, but maybe someone will cite the NYT article wherein that’s pointed out. (Doubtful)
Dumb and Dumber just re-played on TV last week. Preview of the national campaign. Oh well we get what we deserve.that looks eerily similar to Obama’s 2008 slogan:
[sign]Vote for Obama because he’s not Bush.[/sign]
Another poster made that reference and I refuted it.The thread isn’t a discussion of gay marriage, but is about Richard Grenell.![]()
You may believe that if you choose to.Another poster made that reference and I refuted it.
Omigosh! A messenger lies dead with a bullet between his eyes! The only place I was able to find any reporting on your assertion that Obama has members of the Muslim Brotherhood in his administration was from “The Blaze” - which according to Media Matters has been quite active in the right-wing media fear mongering department over the Muslim Brotherhood.
Thank you for injecting that bit of unsubstantiated right-wing propaganda into this discussion.
Nice attempt at trying to play the victim, but you attacked Obama with an unsubstantiated claim. What YOU did was aggression, what I did was defense. You might study GOP tactics, but so do I - it is pretty evident what you’re trying to do.Omigosh! A messenger lies dead with a bullet between his eyes!
For anyone who wants to read the “right wing propaganda” bellasbane found, here it is:
theblaze.com/stories/want-to-know-just-how-close-the-muslim-brotherhood-is-to-the-obama-admin/
Bellasbane may be forgiven for not looking beyond “The Blaze”. But there are others. humanevents.com/article.php?id=41650. I’ll admit I only looked for a few minutes, so more searching might be warranted.
But let’s shoot that messenger too. It’s conservative. BANG!
But just SAYING something is unsubstantiated doesn’t mean it is. Undoubtedly, Bellasbane will now proceed to prove that none of those people in either article was ever appointed by Obama to anything and/or that they have no ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Possibly, she will then proceed to demonstrate how the Muslim Brotherhood is a benign organization anyway, deserving of the 1.5 billion dollars Obama gave them from taxpayer money. nationalreview.com/articles/295501/obama-funds-egyptian-government-andrew-c-mccarthy
Oops! But that’s National Review, and we can only accept things told to us by left-wing sources as true. Another messenger lies dead on the floor.
Will they shoot the Huffington Post? huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/08/walsh-obama-muslim-brotherhood_n_1410896.html
Well, it was quoting somebody else, wasn’t it? And it was really just talking about how horrible the Muslim Brotherhood really is…not exactly on point.
But we can await the rebuttal to The Blaze, et al; the rebuttal where Bellasbane definitively establishes that those people were not appointed by Obama to anything; that they’re really not associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and that, perhaps, the Muslim Brotherhood is really just kind of like the Rotary Club and doesn’t support things like female genital mutiliation, burning Coptic churches, having sex with corpses, stoning homosexuals and adulteresses or revoking the peace treaty with Israel. Maybe it doesn’t even support Hamas, and maybe Al Quaeda isn’t really an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Who knows what she’ll find?![]()
You mean the same Media Matters that co-ordinates its stories with the White House.
Source? You mean the same Media Matters that co-ordinates its stories with the White House.
Here ya go.Source?
David Brock, according to the Daily Caller, has collected a $250,000 annual salary for his work at MMFA, which includes daily screeds against Fox News Channel and other media outlets that allow conservative perspectives in their reporting.
Brock’s group, founded in 2004, is spending $20 million this year in a campaign to influence news coverage that sheds a positive image on the current administration as well as progressives and lawmakers in Congress.
And the campaign is going well, according to a former employee who told the DC that “virtually all the mainstream media” has used Media Matters’ research.
“We were pretty much writing their prime time,” the ex-employee was quoted saying of MSNBC.
Sorry. No cigar. I provided evidence, so I met my burden. Just because one doesn’t like the source doesn’t make it untrue. The burden now shifts to one who wants to assert that it’s untrue. That person would be …ah…Nice attempt at trying to play the victim, but you attacked Obama with an unsubstantiated claim. What YOU did was aggression, what I did was defense. You might study GOP tactics, but so do I - it is pretty evident what you’re trying to do.
The Huffington Post article you link to is about the insane rhetoric of Republican Joe Walsh (the guy who won’t pay child support for this kids) - that is hardly support for your assertion that the NEW YORK TIMES ran an story about Obama’s connection to the Muslim Brotherhood.
I hope you’re having fun cleaning up all that fake blood you spilled on the floor.![]()
Sam H beat me to it, Thanks Sam,Source?
The Obama-Muslim-Brotherhood meme serves only one purpose - to discredit a loyal and patriotic American who just happens to disagree with conservatives on the proper role of government regarding economic and social issues. So why go there?Sorry. No cigar. I provided evidence, so I met my burden. Just because one doesn’t like the source doesn’t make it untrue. The burden now shifts to one who wants to assert that it’s untrue. That person would be …ah…
Never did I assert as factual that the NYT ran a story about Obama’s connection to the Muslim Brotherhood. I intended irony, saying surely someone would produce such a story. (irony, irony, roll eyes, roll eyes, roll eyes) Sorry if I didn’t make it clear that I would never expect the NYT to ever touch a subject like that, or an Obama lover to produce it even if the NYT did.
And please do not suggest that I’m a Republican. I’m not. Never have been. I was a “cradle Democrat” and held party office. I was left orphaned when the party adopted abortion as the central focus of its devotion. (I am tentatively inclined to like Joe Manchin, I’ll admit, but I would like to see his prolife bona fides demonstrated a bit clearer. But golly, is Manchin the only “real” Democrat the party now has to offer? Or is the party now just irrevocably and irredeemably pro-abortion, anti Catholic and radical leftist, and Manchin is just as orphaned as I am?)
Ah, a candid admission by half. I never doubted that the radical Obama administration does promote European-style socialism (though I think it’s to the left of even that, as even Angela Merkel rejected Obama policies) But the Church doesn’t. Do you really think the Church supports socialism? Read the Social Encyclicals and you’ll see that it most vehemently does not.The Obama-Muslim-Brotherhood meme serves only one purpose - to discredit a loyal and patriotic American who just happens to disagree with conservatives on the proper role of government regarding economic and social issues. So why go there? SO YOU CONCEDE THAT YOU CAN’T REFUTE THE ASSERTION THAT OBAMA HAS PUT MEMBERS OF THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD INTO THIS GOVERNMENT, INCLUDING HOMELAND SECURITY. CASE CLOSED.
The Democratic Party has not adopted abortion as its central focus of devotion. Women would find that repugnant and women are more likely to be Democrats regardless of their age (gallup.com/poll/120839/women-likely-democrats-regardless-age.aspx). So unless you believe that most women are inherently evil and are motivated to kill their babies - then something else must be going on. Why don’t you try to figure that one out? **THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HAS NOT ADOPTED ABORTION? THEN WHY IS IT IN THE PLATFORM?. AND REMEMBER THAT HALF THE INNOCENT CHILDREN KILLED ARE FEMALE (PROBABLY SLIGHTLY MORE NOW). **
As for being “orphaned” - please, let me wipe your tears. As far as I can tell, you have totally bought into the Republican memes of individualism and “economic freedom” - so social issues are not the only reason why you don’t fit with the Democratic party. I DIDN’T ASK FOR TEARS, AND CERTAINLY NOT CROCODILE TEARS, SO SPARE ME. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY “MEMES”. I’M PROBABLY TO THE LEFT OF YOU IN SOME WAYS. BUT YOU’RE RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING. I DON’T FIT IN WITH THE CURRENT DEM WORSHIP OF ABORTION. NOR WITH ITS JOB-KILLING. NOR WITH ITS ANTI-ENERGY POLICIES. SO, I TAKE IT YOU ALSO WANT TO THROW DEMOCRAT SENATOR JOE MANCHIN OUT OF THE PARTY. HE AND I ARE EXACTLY IN AGREEMENT ON THOSE THINGS. LOOK IT UP.
The truth is - the Democratic party DOES promote ideas that smack of a “European-style of socialism” and so does the Catholic Church. Where do you think the Europeans got their ideas about universal healthcare and the dignity and rights of workers? Not Ayn Rand.
