“Would Ann Romney be the first “pro-life” first lady?”
Here’s an interesting take. It WOULD be nice to see a first lady take out-and-out leadership in this area. Be a role model. And point out that Motherhood is infinitely superior to
asserting one’s “legal rights” to destroy a baby’s life (in most cases for convenience and NOT because the mother’s life was in danger).
Since the Roe v. Wade decision “first ladies’” takes on the issue have been noted, some of them in opposition to their husbands’ political stands. And in one case a son’s.
Would Ann Romney really be the first vocal “pro-life” first lady? The article does not mention Rosalynn Carter however she received an award from the National Organization for Women (NOW) for her vigorous campaigning for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) though her husband was publicly “pro-life” and a “born-again Christian” and spoke publicly against abortion at times, while nonetheless appointing “pro-choice” Democrats to many high offices.
