‘‘The president’s campaign, if you will, focused on giving targeted groups a big gift,’’
As if Romney didn’t focus on giving “gifts” to Wall Street and the defense industry. All politicians give gifts to their supporters. I’m glad that Romney can’t run again, I’m tired of his excuses.

Just think if we knew the Benghazi story prior to the election:
Actually, I can think of numerous reasons.
First, the Obama administration believed – rightfully so! - that their media would take what Rice said hook, line, and sinker, especially weeks away from Election Day.
If this were to happen, the White House could create the illusion that this attack was all about protests associated with an anti-Muslim movie trailer and therefore deflect all blame and scrutiny.
But MSNBC and Daily Kos will have a different spin on this.

It would be curious to find out if someone is telling others “African Americans and Latinos will never like you”, wonder what color they are? Wonder what faith they really are??

As a white, middle class Republican, even * I’m* offended by Romney’s remarks.

So is Bobby Jindal, who’s leading the GOP Governors Assn.

If Republicans want to bellyache about losing, that’s o.k. The Dems bellyached in 2000 & 2004. The Republicans bellyached in 2008.

But Gore, Kerry, and McCain *didn’t. * Romney is showing himself as little more than a weeping ninny. We’re probably better off without his weak constitution, now that he’s shown his mettle. Or what little mettle he has. (unless I’m misusing the term mettle, which is entirely possible.)

What he said is true, but it is whiney to be talking about it now.

True, True, but I think he technically can run again but won’t.

Morever, Rove will have to find a different venue of raising cash for the 2014 elections.

You must have come here since the thread was written in a different way to inflame.

Wow.

Voting for someone where the unemployment has risen among one’s own ethnicity. This may be pondered even if it was not said delicately.

At least I’m not setting myself up to have the say so for all minorities which would have questionable motives.

SouthCatholic are you alleging McCain is a racist because he said Susan Rice was not very bright in her response to Benghazi? He is referring to her going to I believe 5 different shows and saying the attack was due to a video that had been online for months and had estimated 300 views

Romney was not talking about African Americans specifically, he was talking about many people, diverse in ethnicity. People have talked of how it was difficult to compete with Obama when he was offering free stuff to attract various groups: for those under 26 - staying on parents insurance till 26; single women - free contraception; Hispanics - temporary DREAM act months before the election

That is what Romney meant
Actually isn’t racist to assume that one one mentions “free stuff” that a person automatically assumes the topic is minorities?

McCain: Susan Rice ‘not very bright’ in Benghazi response

That last one is particularly galling. Susan Rice graduated as valedictorian of her class at the National Cathedral School in Washington, graduated Phi Beta Kappa Summa Cum Laude from Stanford University in California, was a Rhodes Scholar, and earned a PhD from Oxford University. In comparison to John Sidney McCain who graduated 894th out of 899 from Annapolis after getting in as a legacy riding on his father’s and grandfather’s coattails. He has some nerve questioning anyone’s intellect–especially after picking Sarah Palin as a running mate.

Black people do not eschew voting for Republicans because of those mythical “gifts.” They don’t vote for Republicans in large numbers because they know exactly what these wolves in sheeps clothing support!
In another thread, I have linked to a Newsmax.com article which quotes Bobby Jindal as saying Romney’s whole “gift” idea is dismissed as wrong.

Perhaps you should cite it here so we can see what Jindal really said. If he actually said Obama didn’t “buy” votes, or at least (perhaps most) the perception of their being forthcoming, then I would be obliged to disagree with that conclusion.

That’s all Obamacare really is, and nobody could read the posts in here defending it to think otherwise. To clarify, in my opinion, Obamacare creates the “perception” of a gift, but is really not one. It’s like an “anti-gift”, but many a poster in here has said it is a wonderful thing, and praise obama for it. Many, unfortunately, have said how they expect it to benefit them, when it probably won’t.

Not long ago, my wife spoke to a woman who actually thought Obamacare ensured her Medicare’s continuation, and she was going to vote for Obama because of it. Amazing!

Many women have spoken up in favor of the HHS Mandate as if it was manna from heaven somehow. But a cheap “gift” it is, and certainly not worth one’s allegiance. But many bought into the notion that it is.

I heard Jindal go on for quite a while about how wrong Romney is, and how his (Romney’s) words do a tremendous disservice to the Republican party and values, and how the only way forward is to move away from Romney’s attitude. And he also mentioned the ridiculousness of the 47% comments. Oh. Yes. He. Did. 😛

I agree with all of this.

Oh yeah right. They know that Republicans support equal treatment for ALL Americans. They vote for candidates such as Marion Berry, Ray Nagin, Jesse Jackson Jr. and William Jefferson, to name a few, who are loathesome characters. Why? They deliver the (undeserved) goods.
As for Rice's intelligence, I think McCain missed the mark. Even geniuses can be congenital liars, and Rice, along with Hillary and Obama, proved themselves such during this Benghazi atrocity. Of course, everyone who follows Saul Alinsky is of necessity a compulsive, conscience-free liar.
BTW, Sarah Palin has more class and competence than the whole of the Democrat leadership combined. Read her tribute to her Downs son in her womb, or actually LEARN about her accomplishments and courage as an Alaskan politician. It'll make you feel REALLY small if you are a decent person. :doh2: Rob

who cares about 4 americans when thousands and thousands died in iraq over a lie…

Well it’s still 4 lives lost that shouldn’t have. However, how many other lives do we risk abroad to protect them is the question. That’s the problem with keeping or withdrawing troops. Your point about Iraq is well taken.

I’m tired of the “free stuff” thing. And is the Republicans perpetuating it. First of all Obama care’s not free the purpose of it is most of us are going to have to PAY for our insurance. Now some will pay less. And there will be subsidizes but pay we will. And you know what countries with national health care-they pay for their health care too. In Canada there’s a tax everyone pays…

Also youngsters staying on parents insurance-parents are paying that’s not free. And as for interest deduction on student loans-that’s interest deduction…Its not once again kids are paying for most of their education. Its in the government’s interest to make education more affordable so our people can get jobs… Not everyone has a Daddy who can give you money to start your own business. (Romney’s statemment of that is just telling)…

Drinkin’ that Palin kool–aid eh?

I know she may be OK to look at, being a beauty queen and all that, but methinks you are making more out of this character than reality would commend. :)Ringil

Oh, and Bob, she quit.
