I heard the video was leaked by Jimmy Carter’s grandson. Any other information on this?
Roll back a few posts. I think there was a source of this claim. Neil Cavuto interviewed Mitt Romney and asked him about Jimmy Carter’s grandson. He said it didn’t matter who sent the video to HuffPo.I heard the video was leaked by Jimmy Carter’s grandson. Any other information on this?
What broader world is this? The same two networks that made Romney’s response to the consulate bombing the top story for days, and all but ignored Obama’s blowing off of intelligence briefings before and afterwards, ignored the White House’s fabricated story about this attack stemming from a protest (that didn’t exist), and all but ignored Obama’s major diplomatic gaffe of labeling an ally not an ally?Yep, it’s playing a little less favorably in the broader world…and I’m being kind.

Is there a standing ovation smiley on this board? What broader world is this? The same two networks that made Romney’s response to the consulate bombing the top story for days, and all but ignored Obama’s blowing off of intelligence briefings before and afterwords, ignored the White House’s fabricated story about this attack stemming from a protest (that didn’t exist), and all but ignored Obama’s major diplomatic gaffe of labeling an ally not an ally?
Please. Like all Romney stories, this gets made into a “big deal” because it deflects from Obama’s lack of anything credible to run on. Most fair democrats can admit Obama gets a pass on things they attack Romney on viciously. That isn’t really what journalism is supposed to be about.
So again, tell me what “broader world” are you relaying information from.
You may not be stupid, but you are a biased partisan if you can’t even admit the basic truth about what he said. Unbiased people understand what Romney said, whether or not they thought he said it artfully. He wasn’t giving a speech. You might as well critique Obama for what he says to his relatives at Thanksgiving, off the cuff. What about the I’ll never convince them line?..that’s the killer. I suppose he meant that in only the most positive light…
Some of us aren’t that stupid.

Wait for the 2016 election when Hillary runs.could be worse…he could think he is Ginger or Maryanne![]()
30 million people, or 1/10th of the population? And even if they are truly needy, why do we want more of Obama, who increased their numbers exponentially.Which people do you see “lowering their standard of living so the ‘subsidy’ becomes the sole source of income”? This sounds like one of the stereotypes about poor people, particularly Blacks, that were prevalent in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. I’m not sure to what extent it took place then, but is it really happening nowadays? I think people who qualify for food stamps ARE the truly needy in the vast majority of cases.
Romney neither said nor implied such a thing. Some people may not realize they are eligible, while others may not know how to sign up for assistance, and still others may be too proud to take advantage of the program. If you believ people on food stamps are NOT truly needy or needy enough, then are you saying they would rather not work but instead live off the government, as Romney seems to believe? I just want to be clear what you think about these people, apart from blaming Obama for their existence.
As I said, the standards have relaxed significantly. When food stamps were first conceived the number of people using this resource was miniscule. Food stamps have increased ONE HUNDRED PERCENT under Obama. Did you know the vast majority of the Farm Bill is for Food Stamps? Here is Senator Sessions testifying on this subject:Some people may not realize they are eligible, while others may not know how to sign up for assistance, and still others may be too proud to take advantage of the program. If you believe people on food stamps are NOT truly needy or needy enough, then are you saying they would rather not work but instead live off the government, as Romney seems to believe? I just want to be clear what you think about these people, apart from blaming Obama for their existence.
OK, I get it. Romney is going to decrease the number of recipients of food stamps by either gutting or severely restricting the program and, in its place, create jobs at home for most of these millions of poor people by means of investing in technical educational programs that give them the necessary skills to meet the job demands of the 21st century. Let’s hope he has the will, leadership skill and ingenuity, as well as the cooperation of Congress to accomplish this. One question: is such a plan on his agenda?30 million people, or 1/10th of the population? And even if they are truly needy, why do we want more of Obama, who increased their numbers exponentially.
Does anyone see any reason to think
If so, tell me why - I am generally curious.
- the number of people on food stamps will go down under Obama?
- Average household income will go up, per year? (it;'s dropped every year he has been in office).
- Unemployment will drop back to 4% or below?
I’ll be here Nov. 7th- can’t wait. . . .Wishful thinking on your part.![]()
Most Americans pay more than the 14% Romney paid when his income was $20 million. The fact that he is too ashamed to release his own tax returns says a lot. I have come to think of the Republican party as the party of shame. A presidential candidate too embarrassed by his own behavior to be forthright. A party too ashamed of the behavior of its last president to allow him to attend the convention. Pathetic. From an October 2011 USA Today article:
Source: usatoday.com/money/economy/story/2011-10-06/income-tax-nonpayment/50676912/1
So yes, the percentage is correct for those who do not pay federal income taxes.
Oh, I’m sure it’s going to be a GOP after Obama. Americans don’t often go 12 years with one party.Wait for the 2016 election when Hillary runs.
Or even Obama if he loses this year.Wait for the 2016 election when Hillary runs.
You are an expert on your own opinion! You have zero evidence that Mitt Romney was ashamed to release his returns. You have zero evidence that President Bush was either not invited or ashamed to come to the Convention. You are wrong on both counts. Pathetic.
Meltzerboy, why do you think so many are unemployed? Is it because they lack job skills? Suddenly in 2008 the job market changed dramatically and all those people who were employed then no longer have the skills to work? Really?OK, I get it. One question: is such a plan on his agenda?
Why is the concept of “capital gains” so hard for you to grasp? Go look it up, and stop cluttering the board with your falsehoods. He doesn’t earn “income” like you or I. He makes his money off of investments. You might as well complain that he doesn’t pay the same state income tax rate as people in Oregon. Even though he doesn’t live in Oregon. For someone who acts so “smart”, this is pretty basic stuff. Pathetic.
So say you,at the very least they are in a dead heat…I’ll be here Nov. 7th- can’t wait. . . .
Romney’s not doing well at this point.
