Yeah…campaigning isn’t “leadership.” In addition to Woodward, here is a nice piece from Paul Krugman from 2010…

I’m guessing he’s not singing that tune, now that it is election time. He has to pretend that Obama really is a leader…
He’s got the one leadership quality that matters most right about now…🙂

Yes. Liberals are much more impressed by campaign ability than they are with actual leadership. When it comes to American Idol competitions, they are the experts. This has been proven time and again.

Actually, that one leadership quality that I will not name is not restricted to the campaign trail and it is not generally seen on Idol either. It isn’t about dashing good looks, crooked smiles or the ability to croon romantically - as charming as those qualities are. 😉 No, it’s considerably more substantial and is absolutely essential to successful leadership that can outlast the campaign confetti.

You do realize that Obama is currently president. If he had any leadership qualities of value to the office, we would have all seen it already.

I can understand holding such a comment until after the election. You don’t want to look foolish. I get it.

His behind……that is what his defenders says he leads with! Or it could be his ability to lie. Or his ability to pick a drone victim a day.

To be fair, Romney’s accomplishments are a matter of substantial debate.

As head of Bain Capital, he was less a job creator than a vulture capitalist: borrow money to acquire a money-making company, load up the company with that debt, charge the acquired company millions of dollars of management fees, shut down U.S. plants, fire U.S. workers, and move those operations overseas. Some companies survived and did well, others went bankrupt. Bain made gobs of money either way. Not a model for job growth and economic prosperity for the U.S. as a whole. Mitt made hundreds of millions of dollars. His record as a job creator and builder of businesses is pretty weak, however, and unlikely to translate to success as President.

As governor of Massachusetts, he had a mixed record. Like Obama, he inherited an economic mess. He promised more jobs, lower debt, and smaller government. Instead, Massachusetts under Romney was 47th out of 50 states in job creation, taxes and fees increased by $750 million per year, and long-term debt increased more than $2.6 billion. Only a huge outflow of Massachusetts workers to faster growing states kept the unemployment rate from climbing higher. He wasn’t a disaster a governor, but he proved that managing an economy out of a recession is a difficult task.

Would he have done substantially better than Obama in managing our way out of the worst recession since the Great Depression? His record as governor indicates that the answer is “no.” Will he do better than Obama in the coming four years? I doubt very much that he’ll get the chance to show that his brand of “hope and change” will prove anything more than empty promises made on the campaign trail.
Vulture Capitalist? I don’t know, I think this sounds convenient to say about someone’s who is rich.

Obviously, Obama is poor in the economy and doesn’t care about a lot of people’s jobs like the people of West Virginia and their coal mines, hence, a convict drew 40% against Obama in that primary.

Evidence? Why he’s*** leading*** Romney on a chase all over Ohio, PA, FL…😛

After the election (wouldn’t want to give you any ideas right now :D), I’ll share with you the single greatest difference I’ve detected between the two candidates…couldn’t put my finger on it until just yesterday, but it finally clicked…and yes, it has to do with leadership.
Media spin…

It’s all flatulence. Polls are designed to make one side or the other feel good to cheer up their followers. I’ll wait for the poll that’ll be taken on Election Day.
Yup. Carter was “leading” Reagan by around 8% at this point. He ended up losing by nearly the same. Call it a 10-15 point swing. Just not believable.

The term “vulture capitalist” has nothing to do with Romney’s wealth, but rather to the way that he obtained it. Here’s how Newt Gingrich put it in an interview on the Today show: “Look, I’m for capitalism. But if somebody comes in, takes all the money out of your company and then leaves you bankrupt while they go off with millions, that’s not traditional capitalism.”

I don’t think that it’s correct to say that Obama is “poor in the economy” or “doesn’t care about a lot of people’s jobs.” The recovery from the depths of the economic disaster that began in Bush’s second term has been slow but real nonetheless, with an improvement in the financial and banking sectors, all time highs in the stock market, rising employment, and a stabilizing of the housing market. When Romney faced a recession in Massachusetts, his record wasn’t any better. I have no faith that Romney could have done much better than Obama has done under similar circumstances.

Do you realize,

I totally agree with this post. It’s so funny how people conveniently forget the horrible state this country was in when Bush left office. Romney is a scary dude with an even scarier world view. shiver

And the President made it…worse. He just blew 6 trillion and has zip to show for it.
What’s scary is that Catholics would vote to re-elect the most pro-abortion President in US history.😦

… It’s so funny how people conveniently forget the horrible state this country was in when Bush left office. …
The country is in horrible shape NOW on many, many levels, but here is just one.

"Americans’ Incomes Have Fallen $3,040 During the Obama ‘Recovery’

Americans must be wondering how much more of this “recovery” they can afford. New figures from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey, compiled by Sentier Research, show that the typical American household’s real (inflation-adjusted) income has actually dropped 5.7 percent during the Obama “recovery.” Using constant 2012 dollars (to adjust for inflation), the median annual income of American households was $53,718 as of June 2009, the last month of the recession. Now, after 38 months of this “recovery,” it has fallen to $50,678 — a drop of $3,040 per household."…

What’s actually scary is that Catholics hone in on the abortion issue and forget everything else that is wrong with Romney. Many simply ignore the fact that Romney will say whatever he needs to to win. He is pro-life because it suits him now. He’s anti-ACA because it’s convenient. And you also shouldn’t assume that because a person is anti-Romney they are pro-Obama. Neither candidate truly fits a Catholic world view but I generally see comments demonizing Obama without giving Romney his fair share. Both of these men are not great choices but I darn sure won’t be waving the Romney banner because he’s pro-life AT THE MOMENT.

Yes it is, but I don’t place ALL the blame on our current president. I place a lot of blame on politicians who care more about winning than helping citizens in need. Then again, when you have people who think half of Americans are essentially parasites, I can understand why they don’t care. This country is going down and it’s because our politicians are heartless and don’t really care about the people who elect them.
