Oh, this is the first time I regret getting married.

I hope that one day that the DoMMoI will have Oblates. I’ll be one of the first in line!

Nunsense, where are you?

I keep checking back to this thread for an update and you are nowhere to be seen.

Jesus, I trust in you!
Jesus, I trust in you!
Jesus, I trust in you!

:hmmm: I will keep saying this prayer so I don’t start worrying. :coffeeread:
Hello there - stop worrying! I am so sorry but I just haven’t had time to get online and post for awhile. We are right in the middle of renovations to the convent - with a wonderful army of volunteers helping out with painting and cleaning. We had a wonderful professional painter come from interstate to help out, and he organized everyone beautifully and taught us how to do it all! He saved the chapel painting for himself (and he deserved this honor) - and he did such a beautiful job. The walls are a gorgeous light blue now and they show off the stained glass windows so beautifully. He mounted the crucifix on the wall - and when we walk into the chapel now - even though the floors haven’t been done yet - it feels so much like a chapel!! We have been very blessed with the charity and kindness of so many people.

Two nights ago we attended the start of a Novena for Our Lady of Mt Carmel at the OCD Carmel here in St Louis. Bishop Hermann celebrated Mass outside in the gardens and it was a lovely evening with so many people there. Then yesterday morning we went to the Tridentine High Mass at the St Francis de Sales Oratory and it was heaven on earth!! After Mass, a brand new priest was giving out first blessings, and we were able to receive a blessing and kiss his hands - God is so good.

I am currently contacting women who have applied for entry for September this year. All those who are interested in joining after September, will be contacted later, when I have more time. They will be asked to come for a live-in visit sometime next year. The applicants for this year will be coming for their live-in in August, so there isn’t much time to arrange everything. We have six sisters right now, with another two pretty definite, and then about half a dozen who will likely visit in August with hopes of entering in September. It is a very exciting time, but also very busy, so not a lot of time to chat online these days. I will try to check back in from time to time though.

I am currently working on the website, with another sister doing the newsletter, but we haven’t had much time for these either, with all the renovations that need to be done before the live-in visits start!! So please pray us on and ask God to send more workers for the harvest šŸ™‚

Thanks for taking the time during your busy schedule to give us an update. I am looking forward to your web site and newsletter.
Rosalind alert for tomorrow! Catholic Answers Live radio show can be heard off this site if you do not have Catholic radio in your area. Ros is scheduled for the 4:00 to 5:00 pacific time show tomorrow. Speaking of the Catholic Answers Live radio show.....yesterday was an exceptional show. Sharon Lee Giganti, a former New Ager promoter of "The Secret" and "Course in Miracles" was on the full two hours yesterday. She had been on the show on July 4 and was so full of information about the dangers of the New Age that she was brought back. I highly recommend listening to all her interviews. You can hear them by going to the Catholic Answers schedule and clicking on the show. She tells some pretty frightening truths about Oprah's New Age beliefs.

:signofcross: Onetruechurch your prayers are answered !! Baruch haShem !
I too have been checking back here for updates on the community. It has been an exercise in patience - one virtue I really need to grow in ! I realise things must be pretty hectic at the convent right now. September will be here before we know it !!
Annie, I hope Rosalind, yourself and the other sisters are well and getting all the help you need.
Keeping you all in my prayers and waiting patiently šŸ˜‰ for any news .

Dear Forum Members: This was on St. Louis Blog yesterday. We need to pray for more volunteers…storm Heaven. :gopray2:

Call for Volunteers from Rosalind Moss
I received an email from the owner of the local Catholic Radio station. Rosalind Moss is in need of volunteer help to prepare her order’s convent before July 26:

Rosalind Moss called today and said they would be at the convent everyday except Sunday from 10:30 until 8 PM. They want as much help as they can get. She said they need everyone. If you have any available time, they will put you to work. I think even children who can help wash walls, sweep, etc are needed. It is going to take a tremendous amount of help to get everything finished before the 26th. Please let friends and family know who could be of some help.

I wish I lived nearby or had some vacation time. I do keep the community in prayer.
I did receive an application, but even though there is much that attracts me, I suspect God is calling me to a more contemplative community. So for now I will hold onto application.

Dear St Joseph, the loving spouse of Mary, please send your workers to help prepare the new home for the ā€œDaughters of Maryā€. As the patron saint of workers I am sure you can get the word out that workers are needed. Please inspire some high school girls from the nearby Catholic high school to ask their principal if they could do the volunteer work as part of their requirement for school. If we could expose high school aged girls to the love and positive attitudes of the new sisters we ā€œjust mightā€ put the idea into their heads that the life of a nun/sister is a joyous life!

St Joseph, this convent will be in honor of your loving spouse. I am sure you would want everything to run smoothly. Thanks
:gopray2: :nun1:

I wish we lived near there, my twin daughters are looking for volunteer work in that vein…all the orthodox orders seem so far away! I pray she gets off to a great start.

As far as the Jewish leaders, depending on their age, they have a right to doubt. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and Catholic’s were taught that in many, many Catholic schools. That is somthing not debated by Catholic bishiops, etc. and they stopped it. (my chiildren have gone to Catholic school and I would have taken them out if I heard anything hateful) My friend said, ā€œJews were going to hellā€ was a common statement along with others that didn’t believe and you were to avoid them. This was in Boston, but I"ve heard others say they were taught that too. Then there were nice guys like our late great Pope John Paul ll that didn’t seem to hear those sentiments in Europe and had friends that were Jewish. I’m not saying all schools did this, but I know it was prevelant because it was asked on EWTN’s site and they said it shouldn’t be done anymore, and sometimes a nuns/priests views are not the faith.
It’s sad but I had an argument just last year with a Christian (not catholic) that Jesus was Jewish…her pastor said he wasn’t???
I hope Rosiland’s group and others, help heal what harm was done in the past along with the rest of our good example as Catholics.

Annie (nunsense),

I know that you must be extraordinarily busy but I’d love to know how everything’s going. I’ve been lurking in this topic for quite a while.

Ditto! :coffeeread: Even the little yellow face is searching for news.

:gopray2: Our prayers are still with you Nunsense and Ros! I hope everything will be ready for Archbishop Burke to bless before he heads for Rome. We are expecting pictures…even pictures of the progress would be great!

Praise+Jesus

I have been on retreat for the past two weeks so haven’t been able to get online. For very personal reasons, I am no longer with Rosalind’s community, although I pray for them every day and ask God to bless them with vocations and benefactors.

I am now starting a three month live-in as a hermit, which is what I actually intended to do when I left Carmel in March. I feel very blessed and honored to have been with Rosalind at the beginning of her apostolate, as she is a charismatic and inspired leader who sincerely wants to serve God as an evangelist. I know that God is calling me along a different path however - the way of desert spirituality. I feel a great peace at my choice and have had Rosalind’s full support in making this decision.

Please email Rosalind directly using rosalindmoss@gmail.com for any enquiries about her community. I will not have phone, email or online access during my three month live-in but feel free to send me your prayers via your guardian angels! šŸ™‚

May God’s peace be upon you all in the heart of our blessed Savior, Jesus.

I don’t know whether to be happy for you or sad at our loss! This must be what it feels like to have had a special sweetheart and then hear that he/she has decided to enter the religious life. Is it okay if I cry? :crying:
Now that I was able to cry for my selfish loss of your excellent reporting I will congratulate you for finding the religious life that you had always wanted. You are a very special person and I feel honored that I and all the others were able to get to know you via Catholic Answers. You have kept this thread entertaining and very informative. It won’t be the same without you. I hope someone who lives near St Louis will pick up the ball and keep us up to date regularly. We can’t just end this thread until the Archbishop blesses the convent.:gopray2: :highprayer:

I found this July 7 post from nunsense on the following website:

phatmass.com/phorum/index.php?showtopic=82152
šŸ˜‰

"The habit is in the hands of two absolutely wonderful seamstresses here in St Louis and they have been letting us try one on while we determine what changes need to be made each time. The final design is not yet completed, but part of the reason for that is finding the right fabric material in the right color. Some fabrics are too hot, some wrinkle too much and others don’t have the right color or don’t wash well. It is a very fun time and we are all praying to Our Lady to help us - so please add your prayers to ours!

It is wonderful that so many people do want to contribute to the community is some way, and the idea of prints is a very good one. We have had people offer statues and pictures and there have been many other wonderful gift ideas from people. Of course, we are very grateful for the love and support of everyone. The greatest gift of all is your prayers of course, and we thank God for blessing the community with so many supporters and benefactors.

Blessed be God forever."

This website also indicated that the new community’s website,
motherofisraelshope.org/ is coming soon.

…Second all motions!..Alleluia Amen! May The Lord richly bless you in your vocation Nunsense…but I am going to miss your posts and hope that someone else ā€œin the knowā€ will soon take over…I have noted the new coming website link for the new community…

I have been reading this thread and following it from the beginning although not posting.
I live in Australia.

Rosalind Moss is a great inspiration and while I was not Jewish, I did come out of an evangelical background. I am sure everyone has their own two or twenty reasons why we love Rosalind Moss and want to help her in her continued service to God.

I have been keeping up with her work to establish her new community, Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope and know that once the web site is up and running it will help a lot. Thank you all for the updates posted here. šŸ™‚

+Peace
John

I want to encourage any of you Catholic Answers fans of Rosalind to not only listen to the Catholic Answers call-in show tomorrow (Wednesday, August 20 at 4:00pm Pacific time) but to call in and ask her about the progress in St Louis.

You don’t have to have a Catholic radio station to listen. Listen by simply clicking the ā€œlistenā€ button on the home page of Catholic Answers.

Let us know if you plan to call so we will know you are ā€œone of our ownā€.

Was anyone able to listen…I couldn’t. Any news about her work in St Louis?? I’m praying for her…it is a lot of work but I know she will have a lot of safisfaction when it’s over.
