Didn’t live in the same town. Didn’t have other witnesses to corroborate the story. Didn’t have a pattern of this sort of behavior. Etc.

The trouble with Moore at this point is there is overwhelming evidence he sought after girls between the ages of 14-18, so, no, it is going to very hard for Moore to present evidence to convince people of his innocence and attacking his accusers isn’t the way to go.

Crimes can be prosecuted years after the fact.

I just read about a murder case of a toddler that occurred in 1968, and a new witness has come forward.

Paul Shanley was s predator priest who abused boys in the seventies. He was convicted in the 2000’s

But that’s not the point though.

Holding office is a privilege. There’s a lot of evidence that he’s molested girls. We can decide whether we feel he shouldn’t hold office because of the gravity of these allegations. Isn’t odd that these women told similar stories to those close to them over the years about Moore. Yet they didn’t know each other.

Casey Anthony was found not guilty of killing her daughter. No one would advocate for her to work in a school for example.

Is pedastery even a criminal charge in Alabama? Why this fixation on splitting hairs? He was targeting teenagers, including underage girls. Let’s call Moore what he was, a sexual predator who targeted teenage girls.

I’m sorry, you’re right. I don’t know child sex crimes as well as others around here. I do know sexually touching a 14 year old against her will is a crime in at least two ways. I know the person that did is a sexual predator and belongs in jail and I know that most decent people wouldn’t vote for such a person, but I don’t know what it’s exact legal definition, so I shouldn’t talk about it.
 
The term statutory rape generally refers to sex between an adult and a sexually mature minor past the age of puberty. Sexual relations with a prepubescent child (generically called child sexual abuse or child molestation) is typically treated as a more serious crime.

I’m guessing Moore’s crime would be statutory sexual abuse (not rape). It’s serious enough as it is, no need to pretend it’s pedophilia.

Now, exactly what age does it stop being pedophilia? I mean, what age does the girl have for a 32 year old man trying to have sexual relationship with her and sexually assaulting to be considered a pedophile? I’m wondering since you know these things so well. Is it 14 or 13 or what?
 
Of course Trump supports Moore. They’re both sexual predators. I believe the women. I do not believe Trump or Moore.

A reasonable person would look at the allegations with an initial feeling of disgust…but then ask where these women have been for the past 40 years. Yes, good points have been made about the shame of sexual abuse survivors feel and how infrequently they report said abuse, but before he was a Republican candidate for the Senate there has been NO public allegations, AT ALL!

A reasonable person would also realize that there is a problem with some women making such allegations for personal or political gain. The Duke Lacrosse case comes to mind.

A reasonable person understands that there is no way of actually knowing what happened.

And a reasonable person understands that people are INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. There is no reliable proof here, so it is simply he said/she said.

The worst, most hypocritical thing about this whole issue is this: In the past 60 years, if a liberal/leftist Democrat is accused of sexual misconduct, the liberals/leftists protect them at nearly all cost. Anthony Weiner was posed to run for GOVERNOR. Bill Clinton was elected President TWICE. Ted Kennedy was the senior senator from Massachusetts for decades. Hillary Clinton & the Democrat party attacked the accusers mercilessly, while hyping themselves up as the “protectors of women” as they pushed their abortion-laden immorality.

Moore is an ALLEGED sexual predator. Same with President Trump. Neither have been adjudicated.

But, using your logic, would Bill Clinton support Moore? He actually IS a sexual predator (per the $845,000 settlement with Jennifer Flowers I believe).

We can ALL agree that, whatever the definition, if Moore did what he is accused of doing then it is wrong, and he shouldn’t be in the Senate.

But there is a standard in America that draws a distinct line between being ACCUSED and being CONVICTED. Other than an obviously forged signature, there is no evidence, and it is reasonable to question 40 year old accusations.

It will be up to each voter to decide if he did what he is accused of and whether or not they’ll vote for him based on what they decide. And, there is evidence unless you don’t consider victim’s testimony evidence.

Thanks for giving us an update on the right wing talking points for the day. You can’t figure out why these accusations didn’t come out given the bull these women are going through now? Seriously?
