Those who vote on principle don’t need to defend excess baggage.

This is exposing a lot of influential people and voters who do not prioritize life, and does explain a lot why the country is in the state it has been in for the last 8 years.

You are aware, I trust, that a 14 year old girl is not actually sexually mature. Sexual maturity in human females is not merely defined by the presence of the menstrual cycle. At that young age there are more significant risks to mother and baby. While there’s no doubt cultures both historical and extent that view a girl this age as sexual mature, at least in Medieval Europe, average age for nobility or aristocracy was around 16-18, and later for commoners (mainly because there was no dynastic pressures to being a commoner or peasant). There are exceptions, of course, but we’re talking the mean age at the time.

Anyone lusting after 14 year old girls is lusting after a female that is not yet sexually mature. In other words, it is both culturally and biologically wrong. If a 14 year old girl becomes pregnant, she’s at greater risk of high blood pressure, anemia and post-partum depression, and the babies at greater risk of being born underweight or premature.

Girls mature between 6-16, some are comparatively early and some are late, there isn’t a typical 14 yr old. However some 14 yr olds have completed puberty and do look like adults, or at least someone in their late teens or early 20’s.

So I’m curious as to why you seem to be suggesting that it’s merely a cultural issue? Again we seem to get these implicit defenses of Moore’s alleged sexual interests at the time.

Again, we’ll see if this is a good thing over time. Most regulations are there for a reason. I know there have been more coal miner deaths this year then there have been in a while. Was it because of regulations or bad luck?

Not sure if this is a good thing as it means the US will no longer be able to be a broker for peace, but I think the rest of the world is going on without looking at the US as a leader anyway.

Moore brings other big negatives to the table such as his racist views. Muslims shouldn’t be elected representatives? That’s horrible. Not caring about the justice system representing all Americans? Huge problem. Best time for the country was when there was slavery? Goodness. I guess I would have trouble supporting Moore based on his racist views as well, I just haven’t spent much energy thinking about it because he clearly sexually assaulted a child.

Roy Moore is crazier than outhouse rat! That’s more than a little baggage. You guys would have voted for Osama Bin Laden as long as he was anti-abortion. But Moore will win. I hope this doesn’t effect Alabama’s emerging high tech business. The good old boys may not have a problem with Moore, but Silicon Valley and its allies may not want to be seen as lending any kind of support to this kind of Neanderthal thinking. So, “Bye Bye Good Jobs”, time to fix up that shrimp boat and start planting some cotton.

For the GOP, Moore’s presence in the Senate will be a gift to the Democrats that keep on giving. They’re backing him because they have little choice. Sessions clearly has no desire to return to the Senate, and it’s not clear that even if he or Strange had been the write-in candidates that it wouldn’t have simply split the vote and guaranteed Jones’ victory.

As it is, even if Moore wins, it will be an unbelievably tight race, considering how red Alabama is. This is a man that has even damaged the GOP in one of the reddest of states. And then they’re going to have to work with a man of questionable loyalties and judgment for six years, and his very presence will undermine the Republicans’ claims to be the party of family values.

Yup, some 14yr olds will have a problem with pregnancy and some won’t, it’s person dependant. I expect in the past such women didn’t marry till later.

You seem to be convinced this 14yr old is closer to an 8yr old than an 18 yr old. You may be right, I haven’t looked at any photos. But there is the possibility a 14 yr old looks like a matured woman.
