Her face burnt almost beyond recognition, she lies prone on her hospital bed and tells in a child’s whispers of the day her mother, father, her two brothers, her sister and her cousin - among 363 people from the same village - were wiped out.

At eight years old, Taisa Abakarova is an eyewitness to the worst war crime in the savage campaign of Russia’s acting President, Vladimir Putin, against the ‘terrorist fighters’ of Chechnya.

The village of Katyr Yurt, ‘safe’ in the Russian-occupied zone, far from the war’s front line, and jam-packed with refugees, was untouched on the morning of 4 February when Russian aircraft, helicopters, fuel-air bombs and Grad missiles pulverised the village. They paused in the bombing at 3pm, shipped buses in, and allowed a white-flag convoy to leave - and then they bombed that as well, killing Taisa’s family and many others.
Hey but at least the village is now safe from homosexual parades!

Maybe Putler can give the survivors an icon or perhaps kiss their bellys, make the booboo feel better.

I am no defender of Putin. In fact, I think he’s a demagogue, I believe he is trying to restore the USSR/Russian Empire by reconquering its old territories and/or surrounding itself with a buffer of puppet/client states.

But a pedophile because he did a splurple on a kid’s tummy? Even I think that’s a stretch.
 
This is just a tiny example of what the wonderful harmless, peaceful Chechens were doing do Russians, Ukrainians, and Armenians before the 1st Chechen War news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/1875162.stm They ethnically cleansed the non-Chechen population from about 30 pct down to 1 pct. When Russia hit back we learned a new word “Chechnya”.
As for the pedophile allegations against Putin. They should receive all the consideration a similar claim would, if a member of a Western intelligence agency defected to Russia, commited treason, became a Muslim and then claimed the president of his former country was secretly a pedophile.

You have said much of what I wished to say . Putin is a top politician and if I ever met
one that was a saint, I’d not believe it .The whole point of me engaging in this thread at all is ask flag flying chauvinist westerners ,to take a good hard look at their own culture and sort out their own back yard ,before they point the finger at others .

Oh, I do, and always have. Promoting killing with M-16s or AK-47s gets the same skeptical response from my naive Catholic self. My head nods no, and before the conversation even proceeds. To tell the truth. Did Putin think we were decadent when they were banned in the US and weapons sales dropped in Russia? 🙂

Believe what you want. I don’t see you stepping up and defending rather vile remarks aimed at the West.

AS far as we’re concerned Russia is not the problem . It is not Russia which trashes cultures ,which spends her time interfering in others poltiics , using NATO .

It’s news, just as much as those who say there was a Coup in Russia and have repeated this countless times.

The only thing I have said is that Russia is known for “child porn” which it is, nothing about “child abusers”, again, we see plenty of accusations against the West, it wants to force same-sex marriage on all EU nations and so on. Decadence of the West and so on. These kinds of things were said for weeks on end. I guess it is a war of propaganda then.

I’ve heard things like Hollywood could get approval for films from the Russian Orthodox Church. Movies like 50 shades of grey are wrong but I think there has been likewise, too much broad-brushing condemnations of whole sets of people. Maybe this wasn’t noticed.

The media in America is Democrat. But if the Republicans take the White House, Obama’s wars will be the fault of Republicans, and will be reported upon incessantly.

No need to attack me. It’s an accusation, it’s not proven. Yet, anyway.

Again, I don’t defend Putin. I just think it is quite possible for him to be a political opportunist, an imperialistic warmonger, a wannabe Tsar – without being (necessarily) a pervert, or whatever.

The problem with demonizing propaganda is that lies get mixed into the truth – and when lies get exposed, then naysayers try to cast the truth in the same light. Their idea is that, well, if you lied about this, then maybe you lied about other stuff, too.

It’s obvious that this topic is very polarizing. There are some here who see him as practically the Antichrist, and others who equally see him as the thirteenth Apostle.

I imagine the truth is somewhere between the two. 🤷
