Russian Troll farms

Oh, I think we’re all waiting for the investigation to be done. It will be interesting and possibly tragic to see what tangential person Mueller indicts for something unrelated to “collusion” with Russia to influence the election.

Go ahead and give us your citation from the U.S. Code where it says “collusion” is a crime other than in antitrust law. You won’t, of course, because it’s not. And of all your name calling won’t make it one, however much you wish it would. How very typical of the left. Don’t want to face the fact that you have accused a person of a crime that doesn’t exist, so resort is made to name-calling.
I have before. In response to you. And you said you don’t think it applied as I thought it did. Do you not remember these conversations? I have concerns I am talking to a different Ridgerunner. Maybe several people sharing the same account. Something that I might expect a Russian troll farmer to do. Naw, couldn’t be.

Actually, you didn’t, and you know it.

While collusion may not be a crime, conspiring with others to commit a crime is a crime, even if you don’t actually commit the crime.

Wow. Now I have serious doubts that I am talking to the same person. Yes, we went back and forth in July. This is about the fifth time that you have insisted that I repeat myself. I am seriously concerned for your health that you can’t remember this. Unless of course, you are a Russian troll that has replaced the original Ridgerunner, in which case, you don’t remember because you just got hired and not because of health issues.

Who was conspiring with someone to commit a crime? You should report this to the police if you know of this taking place!

But there has to be a crime which one conspires to commit. What crime did Trump or his team conspire to commit? Be specific about that. If we’re going to accuse people of committing crimes or conspiring to do it, we ought to be able to name the crime. If we can’t we shouldn’t make the accusation.

You have worn out the ill-mannered troll thing. Either point out the crime of “collusion” in the USC or just admit you have no idea what crime you’re accusing Trump or his people of committing.

I’m sure a Russian troll would find being called out as ill-mannered. Again, we’ve been through this and I’m not going through it again. All joking aside, I am really concerned about your inability to remember multiple conversations we’ve had on this very same topic.

It would behoove you not to jump to conclusions, people are “innocent until proven guilty”, however, you seem to assume his guilt without much evidence of any crime? Any reasons why you’re promulgating this?

The emails released by Trump, Jr show clear intent to collude with the Russian government to get ‘dirt’ on his father’s political opponent. Is that criminal? I think so, but I admit I am not a lawyer and not one to necessarily have the knowledge to correctly interpret the law. So, if a fellow says he just murdered someone, I am inclined to believe he is a murderer even though he hasn’t been convicted in court yet.

And nearly a year and a half later, and millions spent by the DNC, the liberal media, and Mueller, they still haven’t found a crime.
Actually, we don’t know what has been found or not found yet. None of us are privied to that information yet.

If Trump Jr was hoping to get dirt on Clinton (valuable to campaigns, much like inside information would be to a stock trader), that is a federal crime.

Could we all stop acting as if the Trumps and the Clintons are perfect angels or perfect devils? Both families are full of flawed people who do incredibly stupid things, some of which are also illegal.

PLEASE STOP POSTING NONSENSE you’ve acknowledged is nonsense.

You admitted collusion is not a crime here.
There is nothing illegal about doing research on your political opponents,
meeting with people to discuss your opponent is not a crime, even if they are foreigners.
Trump didn’t do a wiretap on Clinton’s staff or request such of the Russians.

Coordinating with them to go after a political opponent may violate Federal election laez but even if it doesn’t, do you think it’s fine for a campaign to work with one of the United States’ primary geopolitical rivals? If we are just down to technical legality, then where does ethics go?

Maybe English is not your first language, but I hate to tell you that, in no way, does what I wrote there suggest that “collusion is not a crime”. I said I think it is a crime, have said that before and will continue to say that, but I have admitted I am not a lawyer and may be misinterpreting the law.

Now, as far as your claim that it is not a crime, let’s face it - you are not representing the facts here. Meeting with people to discuss your opponent is not a crime, even if they are foreigners. Except that’s not what Trump, Jr. thought he was getting. He thought he was meeting with an agent of the Russian government who was offering dirt obtained by the Russian government. So, you are changing the facts to meet your particular narrative. Is it one fed to you by the right wing media or is it one fed to you by Putin’s followers, who am I to say?

Why is it illegal to get your facts from the russian govt but not a private source?

If the facts are true, they are true. If they are lies, you may be guilty of slander and be sued.

You’ve not provided an ounce of weight that his meeting was remotely criminal.

Gosh, we’ve been through this on the forum before. It is illegal to receive contributions from foreign nationals (see Section 30121 of Title 52 of federal campaign law). The intention to receive information is a form of a contribution and the person he was meeting with he knew to be a foreign national. It is also illegal for receive any thing of value in a political campaign from a foreign government, which ‘dirt’ would qualify as (IMO).

Now I can understand why a Russian troll would say something as silly as “You’ve not provided an ounce of weight that this meeting was remotely criminal” but I can’t understand why any American would. Well, at least any patriotic American.

So you’ve already decided the investigation is somehow unfair before it has even concluded. It strikes me that you are the one being unreasonable. And why exactly are you so interested in declaring an ongoing investigation both invalid and some unjust prior to any findings of any kind being released? What is your expertise that you can make declarations as to how long an investigation should take, what the appropriate number of leaks should be, etcetera? Are you an expert in Federal law or Federal prosecutions?
Am I being unreasonable? The Whitewater investigation ended up being all about a blue dress and perjury, which was not the purpose of the investigation. The Valerie Plame “unmasking” investigation turned into a conviction that the key witness later disavowed, while the actual “unmasker” skated. And, of course, it turned out Plame wasn’t “unmasked” as a covert agent at all.

And the Watergate investigation lead to Nixon resigning before his inevitable impeachment, conviction and removal from office. You seem to be cherry picking Federal investigations to make your point. Can you give me a percentage of such investigations carried out in, say, the last fifty years that you think were invalid?

So you are assuming his guilt with the knowledge that you are not sure that what he did was criminal?

If it was criminal, any reasons why he hasn’t been indicted yet for a crime?

'I believe that a reasonable reading of the law indicates he broke it and he admitted as much. I admit there may be nuances to the law I don’t understand.
If it was criminal, any reasons why he hasn’t been indicted yet for a crime?
Probably because it is part of a larger investigation and the prosecutor is trying to get all his ducks in a row before handing out indictments because it sounds that there may be even more criminal behavior in the inner circle of Trump’s campaign.
