Apologies…of course it wasnt you…it was targeted at the unabashed Trump apologist responding to you.

What an ill mannered response…i’m shaken to the core:disappointed_relieved:
Are you denying that Zuckerberg is a Democrat?
unabashed Trump apologist
“unabashed Trump apologist”? Dems on here ought to eventually realize they’re the ones causing people to defend Trump. Post after post after post by Dems and not a single one even grudgingly admits that Trump has done anything that’s good…not even stopping the persecution of the Little Sisters of the Poor or reinstating the Mexico City Policy, which on a Catholic site one would think everyone would approve and cheer.

But the Dems don’t.

And so, as long as the Dem apologists on here keep attacking Trump and his supporters, and particularly when they do it falsely or in a purely personal way, they can expect people to defend him.

No surprise to that. Zuckerberg is a Democrat.

The Church indeed does good works, but right wingers tpically are only pro birth and not pro life, hence the Holy Father’s statement on Health Care.
LOL Yeah because throwing the gospel out after birth is somehow righteous?
Indeed.

I have often thought that Trump supporters are often lacking in control and I appreciate the fact that you have proven it for me. While I am not a democrat, I likely have voted for many fewer democrats in my life than you have, I do find it interesting that when democrats (and republicans and libertarians) criticize Trump, Trump supporters seem to think that such extreme rhetoric has never been uttered before. What I have seen is just normal politics. When Obama was president, many people criticized him. Trump also deserves much criticism.

Yes, but not criticism based on innuendo and speculation.
I agree, he draws enough reason to criticize him from his own actions that we can all observe.
Do you agree Trump has done some good for the pro-life cause?

By fully funding planned Parenthood?

Gorsuch testified that Roe is settled law in his confirmation hearings.

Do you disagree that any good he has done for the pro life cause excuses is other actions, to wit misogyny? I dont.
No I don’t . But I do think life comes first.

I don’t think Trump is a misogynist, though. He has appointed women to prominent places. Personally, I think Hillary is more misogynist after what she said about people, specifically women, who didn’t vote for her.

And passed a Budget that continues to Fund Planned Parenthood. Great Job.

While that is undoubtedly true, I think the point Ridgerunner was making is that tempering our criticism with an honest acknowledgment of the good things a president/politician has done (and surely all of them have done at least something good) would make people less defensive.

I’m not a fan of Trump, but I will admit that when I see people rush to condemn everything he does without qualification, it makes me feel like defending him. I don’t like feeling that way either. 😝

As for Ryan, I wish him well. He has stated that he wants to spend more time with his family. Good for him.

I keep seeing the mainstream press take all these stories as proof that there is going to be a huge “blue rush” this November. While it certainly seems to be the natural ebb and flow that the party with the presidency loses Congress in the midterms, I’m still unsure that it will swing as much as is being predicted. I feel like all the bad press is just causing Trump supporters to double down. I guess we will see which way it goes come November.
