Huh, and I thought 2 parent families were forced on the black community as a recent thread claimed. The unspoken implication of “white privilege” is that you were born lucky. That is a fallacy. If you were born to another family, you would be a different person entirely. You are the result of your ancestors’ choices, the good and the bad. You are you and it could not be otherwise.
You seem to be well aware but so many are no so enlighten. There are so many people that do not understand, There is no such thing as White Privilege.

So your consider the individual bishops you refer to, who are a minority against the teaching of the bishops in committee, as well as the Pope, to be moral and correct, but the bulk of the bishops are tainted by corruption and therefore unreliable? An interesting opinion for a Catholic.

That’s sort of the whole debate here - about whether or not references to racism and white privilege are “political.” One camp of us is arguing that these are moral issues directly pertaining to our obligations as Catholics. The other is insisting on politicizing and controverting it. I’d suggest that a reference to dismantling a British presence in Ireland is terribly political; vowing to dismantle privilege and its resulting injustices is moral.
For me racism is entirely appropriate to highlight. It is a sin and is spelled out in the CCC.

I do acknowledge the reality of white privilege but that is more a sociological term and isn’t as applicable in a prayer setting.

Outside of Mass white privilege is certainly something to discuss.

Rightist Catholics have their 3 or 4 hero bishops and one particular Cardinal.

Isn’t that what is is being discussed, whether this prayer is appropriate during the liturgy - the context and the timing.

And I am saying that bringing up white privilege at Mass is a bit inappropriate. Racism, discrimination, and oppression would be entirely appropriate.
