Being typically British I would say no to any public displays of affection. Straight or gay I just don’t care for it.
I’m British, nearly 50, and I disagree with you. Did you have a problem with William and Kate kissing at Buckingham Palace on their wedding day?

A wedding is somewhat different to a usual public setting. I didn’t have a major problem with it but did they need to? No. Would I have a problem if they continued to do it every time they were on a public engagement? Yes. Just no need.

Ouch.
Harsh.
Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are attracted to their own sex and still remain chaste for His sake.

homosexuals to be some of the most annoying people on Earth.
Well that’s just stereotypical of you, no offence. Not all of us are annoying. Some of us are quite nice

and they don’t whine at me when I say things like ‘That’s gay’ or ‘What a fag’ then I will never know they struggle with that and they won’t annoy me.
Well the word “fag” is a word that is commonly used to bully same sex attracted guys like me. so I could see why they would not be so happy when you use that word

I don’t think there is male below the age of 65 and above the age of 7 that hasn’t been called a ‘fag’ at some point.

Yes, I should clean up my language, but when I grew up ‘fag’ and ‘gay’ were slang terms to describe things that are not exclusively ‘homosexual’. If a guy doesn’t care that I use other crude language but then gets indignant that I slip up and say ‘fag’ around him, then it’s annoying.

Not really a big deal though, because I usually try to self-regulate because I am exceedingly polite in person.

As a Catholic I’m ashamed of the attitudes on this thread. The rampant homophobia drives people with same sex attraction away from the Church and deprives them of the chance to learn about Gods love. By fluke of your birth you assume some moral superiority over people with a personal battle you never had. How on earth you think you are following Jesus example is beyond me.

I wouldn’t attend, but then again, I find homosexuality to be literally one of the most disgusting things imaginable and homosexuals to be some of the most annoying people on Earth.
I’m sure plenty of them find your particular versions of sin to be disgusting too. Homosexuality is a sin. We all sin. And we are all made in the image of God, including those you find disgusting.

Wow. You want to go around being offensive, and when they call you on that, that’s annoying. Gotcha. How very very Christian of you.

Back to the original topic.

Find out if anyone else is bothered by it and act as a group.

Come on Nelka we aren’t talking about public displays of smoking here!

I think ‘intensely perverted’ is a bit strong. I would say it’s ‘another point of view’ and that the Gospel isn’t black and white.
Intensely and perverted were the two perfect words to your wrenching the gospel passage out of context in this way.

I suggest you react in exactly the same way to a heterosexual ex-Catholic couple married outside the Church displaying affection. Or a divorced remarried Catholic woman with her new husband. Or a former priest who married without being laicised. Each are displaying an affection which is carried through to sex is considered mortally sinful. And enjoy your new life in a monastery (maybe not even there!) or a desert island someplace.

Exactly! Why this one sin gets singled out I don’t know.

I suppose the best way to approach the issue is to think upon Jesus’ likely reaction, if He had been faced with such a situation.
