Sanders is the only candidate that I’ve noticed that regularly quotes the pope.
Bernie Sanders is running for President, and given that I’m deeply skeptical as to whether he should have been invited. If he wasn’t running for president, that would be different, but he is.

Has it happened before that people running in an election have been invited to the Vatican to speak?

I’m not convinced it’s right to have Bernie Sanders given that platform when he is running for president.

Other than being married to Bill Clinton exactly what has Hillary Clinton accomplished?
I’ve provided a long, long list of her many accomplishments previously. If you really want to know, feel free to pull up my posts.

Agreed.

I guess the Vatican has other ideas. Who are we to judge?

Bernie likes Pope Francis, and Pope Francis likes Bernie and his values and wants him to speak on building a “moral economy.” He’s a good choice.

Was that included with the list of proportionate reason allowing a Catholic to vote for a Pro-abortion candidate?

The only accomplishment in Hillary life is being Bills wife. She knows that which is why she enabled his ongoing adultery, sexual harassment and sexual assualt

Is it a good idea for Pope Francis to favor Bernie as a presidential candidate? Doesn’t bode well.

One man’s opinion. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

This isn’t the first candidate he remarked on if I recall correctly. Quite a bit of difference in the thoughts, though.

Pope Francis is entitled to his opinion as much as we are, and he is not endorsing Sanders for president. Perhaps he invited Sanders because Sanders isn’t judgmental, and Pope Francis dislikes it when people are judgmental. His pontificate is built on a foundation of mercy.

According to Bernie Sanders he wishes to discuss the morality/ or lack of morality of poverty, and the humanitarian crisis of refuigees.

Extremely politically active first lady, Successful Lawyer, Senator, Only woman to be a presidential primary candidate in a leading position, Secretary of State, Active management of Clinton Foundation…

I’m not a fan, but there is no point in pretending she doesn’t have accomplishments. Certainly they were made easier to achieve due to her husband, but most of the worlds accomplished CEO’s and politicians have some sort of family/financial ties that helped get them where they are.

That’s very savvy of Sanders to approach the Pope and set up the meeting.

sorry, I didn’t know that. Oh well, now I really do know who Pope Francis favors to be our president.
A Vatican spokesman did say it wasn’t an endorsement, but it sure looks like it. I think many people are going to interpret it as such.
