He sure does! That’s why I can’t wait to see him debate Clinton or Sanders, if he is the Republican nominee, which I doubt he will be.

“in certain cases” - guess that is the vague - don’t look too close at this reason for killing a baby".

The issue of “factories of body parts” is usually in horror films, featuring zombies and
those profiting from the sale of butchering babes. Planned Parenthood is the biggest commercial organization receiving tax funding exploiting women before and after they become pregnant.

It would be just fine if PP was found on shaky ground and the earth opened up to remove them from their evil enterprise.

You do know Trump believes in abortion on demand in cases of rape, incest, or life of the mother, don’t you?

"Donald Trump said Thursday he would change the Republican Party platform’s position on abortion to include exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.

“Among Trump’s remaining GOP presidential rivals, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has said he opposes exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother, while Ohio Gov. John Kasich has said he supports them.”

If you’re truly anti-abortion, your only candidate can be Cruz.

I’m not a Trump supporter but wasn’t the position outlined above - opposed to abortion except in certain cases - also Mitt Romney’s position on abortion?

I think so, but I am not positive. Doubtless someone here does know, though.

It isn’t that his position is different from Romney’s, or any other Republican nominee in recent years, it is the fact that he wants to change the Republican platform to reflect his more liberal position rather than the more conservative position in the platform.

When a Romney or a Trump, or any nominee with the three exceptions is running, one thing you always hear pro-life voters say is that you should still vote for them because they are Republican and will therefore promote the Republican platform. Suggesting that the party liberalize the platform in regards to abortion would effect not just this election cycle but future election cycles, as well as change the party’s core stance on personhood.

Which leads to the other thing strange thing about Trump’s desire to change the platform. The platform doesn’t address when abortion should be legal it addresses “personhood.” To change it, the way Trump suggests, it would basically have to say that a fetus is a person UNLESS it was conceived by rape or incest or if it is endangering the life of the mother. It’s almost as if Trump has no clue what the platform even says.

Kasich agrees with Trump, so I guess he has no idea what a person is, either.

I don’t think Kasich is suggesting that they change the platform but I may have missed that yesterday. Did he come out after the Trump statement and say that he too wants to change the platform? I’m not being a smart&$$, I honestly don’t know.

But, one thing, I didn’t say Trump doesn’t know what a person is, I said he doesn’t know what the platform states. He is acting as if the platform says “Abortion should be illegal” and he wants to add the exceptions. But it doesn’t say that.

Obama thought the issue “above his pay grade”, and not just in case of rape or incest. But it seems Hillary Clinton knows. As a proponent of the sale of baby body parts, she has to know they’re “persons” (or at least human beings) because their body parts wouldn’t be useful for human experimentation if they weren’t.

That’s the logical paradox of the position.

Apologies for changing your words around. I didn’t mean to do that.

I really believe Kasich said he was for the exceptions before Trump, though it’s difficult to tell with all of Trump’s flip-flopping on this issue. Kasich has said he is for the exemptions even before running for president. I don’t know if he wants to change the platform or not. News articles don’t devote much space to him. He’s usually an afterthought.

Hey! Aren’t you the one that says no one should tell you how to vote? Mr. Cruz has total opposition to abortion as he has said. That is fine and great, but in this age of carnal over the top desires and all the other civil areas of over the top concern, we need a strong, successful leader that is at least pro-life and is willing to perform accordingly. We also have to have, at last, a good, strong, knowledgeable President that knows how to attack the problems. If he is shy of being full blown, I’ll still take it. Rather than loose the whole ballgame, we will take the step forward. Gov. Huckabee, Dr. Ben Carson, Gov Chris Christie, to name only these three have endorsed Trump and many others as well.

Trump is the one to win and do. Clinton has got to hang it up.

Well, speak for yourself! You were touting your view that the Constitution did not protect babes in the womb as persons. Very enthusiastically, I might add. The person is created by God the Father - He creates a soul for each one. (He is not subject to time, that is something He created for us). So, no need to argue about when the
baby person has a soul or if the Catholic Church has addressed this - the made up fuss over it is a distraction to diminish the evil of destroying new life. Try to follow the concept.

Surely you are desperate to promote Hillary’s disgusting view of women and rights. There is no war on women. A woman is created, a man is created, by God the Father. Some misled women think its just awful that God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son have been revealed to all as men. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three in one Persons. The identity of the male is called “man” and the woman (note the “wo”) before the word man is for the womb. Female identity. Male and female created in human form. We are not God - we are not to attempt to destroy God’s Love. What is so darn hard to understand?

Hillary has another itch to scratch, religion has to change to suit her ideas. That fits with everything else she has touted. You are in compliance with all the methods of coercion by refusing to admit the evil of those who promote and provide abortion. Don’t bother to claim you personally oppose abortion. Its not believable. Don’t bother to claim you prefer Sanders - he is cut from the same cloth.

If you have great difficulty in understanding then quit trying. Accept and serve God.

I’m not desperate about anything, Grotto. Whoever is elected president, my life is going to proceed as before. I really have nothing personally invested in any candidate. Women’s rights is one part of Hillary’s platform I do not approve of. I’m no feminist by any stretch of the imagination.

What’s so hard to understand is that you have been one of the people here who say if there is a candidate who is against abortion, as Catholics we have to vote for him or her. Well, Trump wants to amend the Repub. platform to include “exceptions.” So apparently we CAN vote for someone who supports abortion.

I’m not telling you who to vote for. I don’t tell anyone who to vote for. I’m just surprised you didn’t choose Cruz since he opposes abortion for any reason, and though I doubt his sincerity in much, I do believe he is sincere about that.

I respect your right to vote for Trump. As I said, I’m just surprised.

No we cannot support a candidate that is pro abortion. Mr. Trump is not claiming to provide and promote abortion as the two Democrat candidates. Don’t try to interchange the truth. Your post have been clearly in support of Clinton - Sanders, or Sanders - Clinton. You support and withdraw, withdraw and support. You invest entirely too much effort to claim you couldn’t care less, you are not invested, your life is going smoothly without consequence of cheerleading for evil. You claim to be a Catholic theology instructor at a Catholic University - you should be aware that the written words you put into the computer world can be recalled and not be acceptable. Just saying, be careful of giving off the wrong approach to Catholic theology. Its hard to know just where you are coming from which causes doubt of your sincerity.

You seem to be on the edge of knowing its wrong to support the Democrat Party - as they are set up at this point in time. They may be subjected to loosing their support and better people will be the leaders. That has been the case in history - political parties come and go. Throw yourself into defeating abortion - make that “Leap of Faith”! God bless you!

Why would anyone believe anything Trump says at this point? He’s the very definition of capriciousness. He isn’t going to stop abortion. I’d even wager that he won’t do anything to hinder it.

Women’s rights is one part of Hillary’s platform I do not approve of.
Wonderful! So what parts of her platform balance out her enthusiastic support for unrestricted abortion on demand?

By that logic, never bother with medicine - nothing kills 100% of germs, and anything short of perfect is apparently totally useless.
