Sarah Palin endorses Donald Trump’s presidential bid

Unfortunately for Sarah Palin supporters in the UK and Europe she is seen as being the intellectual inferior of Homer Simpson.

I never gave it any serious thought 😊 I did get a good laugh out of it tho. I like Sarah Palin, I think she is genuine, good, smart, and I think she got hammered by insider politics when she went to bat for McCain. She did a great job for Alaska by ridding the corrupt back room boys out of the State’s finances, and she is quick to grasp matters.

Laugh - I will as I think of her saying that she could see Russia from her front porch because its only a stretch from being the truth! lol

Also, the Russian jets are quite familiar on the Alaskan airspace because we really do not have borders, do we? Maybe, we can get a Trump Wall?

How uninformed!She is very politically astute,actually,she is everything the leftists admire,a smart ,savvy,accomplished woman.Just one problem,she is a Conservative Christian…in their eyes,that negates all of her other attributes,oh,and she actually carried her baby with Down Syndrome to term…that must be a real head scratcher for the pro aborts:rolleyes:
 
Really if you think that about her then one has to become more and more circumspect about the US education system and what it produces - I say this as a retired History Teacher.

I believe that was truly Obama’s objective, but the Republicans, as they stated publicly, had as their first priority bringing down his presidency. There was no way to work with them, so Obama stopped trying.

Good point, but not true for this liberal, who admires Sarah Palin.

Why in the world would he drop her as an endorsement? He needs all the support he can get through the General election.

Obama only claimed it was his objective, but he took no steps in this direction. It’s pathetic when people keep trying to blame all his failures on the GOP. He had both Chambers for two years, and real POTUS leadership is able to cross the political divide. Both Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan knew how to do it (lead).

The British system works differently: we don’t choose our Prime Minister (directly), after all. Plus the UK is much smaller (it’s about half the size of Texas), so even party leaders - the prospective PMs, can get round the whole country quite a few times. The current PM and the leader of the opposition are both very well known nationally, as are the other main party leaders - these are the men or women who will be prime minster following their party’s victory so we don’t need a year’s-worth of “getting to know the candidate” because they are all fairly well known anyway.

Don’t think the British are less methodical. Our elections (not to criticise, I’m having a great time following this one from over the Pond!), are even at their utter silliest, an awful lot more sensible and level-headed than American ones. We probably distil all the important things into two months rather than pad it out.

Anyway that’s beside the point. While I think Sarah Palin, as others have said, is politically astute (or far more so than many give her credit for), it strikes me as a bizarre that a politician-turned-reality TV personality is endorsing a reality TV personality-turned-politician. One thing is for sure; this kind of insipid circus doesn’t happen over here.

(Nor would we have a candidate declaring “I have the most loyal people, did you ever see that? I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot people and I wouldn’t lose voters,” as Trump did today, but that’s rather beside the point).

What was the vote in the house? After all, the republicans repealed Obamacare several times even though it would go nowhere in the senate. But when it came to fannie and freddie they did absolutely nothing.

I wouldn’t take this election cycle as normative, if you know what I mean.

Of course there’s plenty of blame to go around… but the pattern is clear. All it takes is for a few Senators to even SUGGEST a filibuster for a bill for it to be killed.

Perhaps you would like to go on the record here and now, and demand that the U.S. Senate change its rules so that Senators who object to bills will have their names known?

Palin’s appeal seems to be somewhat limited, even among Republicans. I think she’d be a huge liability in a general election where Trump would be trying to win much needed support from moderate independents.
