Sarah Palin gives her account of Paul Revere's ride

I was thinking more of the “hero” myth.
 
I think the point of the whole episode (if there is a point to this foolishness), is that Paul Revere didn’t set out with the intention to warn the British soldiers. He set out to warn the colonists, and only said anything to the soldiers because he was captured. If he had managed to avoid them, then he wouldn’t have gone out looking for them. After all, how much sense does it make to tell the British soldiers that British soldiers were around? 🤷

And he wasn’t ringing bells and firing guns as he rode through town.

Bush never had a big ego (I don’t even think he wanted to be President); but he also never woke up, except briefly after 9/11, and then went back to sleep again. Come on, you know Presidents are supposed to make fun of themselves and go along with the comedians at the press dinner. I’m not familiar with Obama’s idea of a national police force.

It was a joke, but it was one of those, it’s funny because it’s true comments. I dunno if you watched it, but it wasn’t just a punchline comment.

The example I gave was just what I meant. He thinks there should be a Fannie Mae sort of government answer to all our needs. Even the police force. Give that man the run of the mill for eight years and you would have seen what I meant. Luckily he only had it for two.

Beau, respectfully, you (and millions of other Americans) still have no clue about her. I challenge you to watch Undefeated when it comes out. Sarah is shockingly talented, and America MUST have her at the helm. There are other good people, but there is not another Sarah Palin. :) Rob
 
Based on a narrative I read, what I know about Paul Revere is that he probably deserved a lot more blame for the disaster at Majabigwaduce. Revere had a lot of clout as a hero though by the sounds of it.
 
After reading through most of the posts here, I’ve come to the conclusion that if Sarah really wants to be a serious contender, then she really needs to be well informed on US History, major cases of SCOTUS, geography and foreign policy. Otherwise she should stick to fund raising which she appears to be very good at.

Either way, I think she has a lot of catching up to do.

I guess you didn’t read all the posts and know history very well as you claim. Revere DID warn his British captors just like Palin said. The biased media WAS wrong. Revere actually DID tell the British that the Americans had the resources to beat them and DID warn the British to go away or die.

That would mean admitting she was right, can’t have that.

You want to read some strange history - read what Obama has had to say about the history of social security.

Paul Revere talked to some British soldiers after he was stopped, but his mission was to warn the Americans that the British were coming. What he did NOT do was ride through the town ringing a bell and firing off a gun to tell the British that they couldn't have our guns.

He may not have o knows, she did not say that was his mission. That’s what he ended up doing, the bells and guns may have been fired by other people. But we had folks on this forum saying she wa stupid because they couldn’t afford bells then.
 
I honestly don’t care if she doesn’t know her history that well. I still support her.

The more the story goes on the more the left moves the goalposts. Immediately after she made her comments the left mocked her for claiming Paul Revere warned the British. When it turns out that was true the left claims Paul Revere didn’t warned the British the way she said he warned the British. The truth of the matter is Palin has shown a greater grasp of what really went on than the overwhelming majority of Americans, myself included.

The left said Eisenhower, Ford, Reagan, Bush, and Bush 2 were all stupid. The only they would admit was smart was Nixon - he was one of their own.

Me as well! I didn't know what she was talking about b/c my school never taught us the full story. Sadly, today's young generation probably never HEARD of Paul Revere. As for the left, they'll twist themselves into a DNA strand before they'll admit the truth: That Sarah Palin is extremely bright and competent. :thumbsup: Bob
