Quite possibly. Although, in the end, I don’t think her choice of VP candidate would have made the difference.

Well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that one. As I said, plenty of Republicans think putting her on the ticket was a mistake.
Yeah, sanders might have been the only vp candidate that would have maybe affected the outcome. As for palin, you know I like her, you can count me as one who thinks she was a mistake on that ticket. But not because if palin but rather the target she became. She was regrettable because she was molded into a clown by the media. Trust me, those same reps who thought she was a mistake at the bottom of the ticket voted for trump at the top of the ticket 8 short years later.

If Hilary was in charge, and I wish she was, it would have been business as usual and we wouldn’t be here having this discussion. I don’t think for one second she is a great person but compared to the circus now. Heck I would take dorky W back seeing as he would just say stupid things that wouldn’t cause international incidents.
Business as usual is the problem.

McCain is a war hero. POW. Has Trump ever served in the military? I don’t think so.
did I miss somewhere Obama had served in the military?

my father was a WWII veteran who fought in Germany against the NAZIs and he helped liberate a concentration camp, but I don’t think that qualified him to be president.

It occurs to me that the Canadian pm, with his Castro comments might be the one that deserves criticism. Not a ambassador that could see Canada from her backyard…

Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. That’s a line from SNL.

Furthermore, if Palin were liberal, she’d have an honorary degree or two.

I know. I’m just being funny.

She is my celebrity crush anyway.

More fake news…Nobody in the administration has even mentioned Palin as a potential replacement for the Canadian ambassador, nor, to my knowledge as Palin expressed an interest in becoming the ambassador to Canada. I guess leftists just can’t feel good about themselves unless their putting someone else down. Cue the Hillbilly Barbie jokes…
Like we didn’t just have 8 years of whining, obstruction and retraction from the Right.

Why cant we compromise and come together as a country?

Let me add just a little. At one time in this country, most lawyers never went to law school and, therefore, did not have law degrees. They “read the law”, usually under the tutelage of a practicing lawyer. Most of it was learning a British work called “Blackstone’s Commentaries” which, I understand, was a lengthy explanation of the various aspects of law. Since most of our law came from Britain at the time, that was deemed sufficient. Abe Lincoln, as I recall, never went to law school, but did pass a bar exam after “reading the law” with some lawyer in Illinois.

Nevertheless, some did go to law school and get degrees.

I don’t know if there is any federal law requiring that judges have “law degrees”, but I am sure they have to be admitted to the bar somewhere in order to qualify. To my knowledge, though, it’s not possible anymore to take the bar exam and be admitted after only having “read the law”.

Interesting question.
Since I know at least some of you love historical trivia almost as much as me, what would you say about the judgment of a US President who appointed an Attorney General who had been admitted to the bar only 18 months before his appointment? He was one of those people who had read the law under an experienced attorney rather than going to law school. He was Charles Lee, appointed by George Washington in December 1795 after passing the bar in June 1794. Lee is most famous for representing William Marbury in the famous case of Marbury v Madison. Chief Justice John Marshall found that Lee was right on the law, but a section of the law was unconstitutional. I am not sure if that counts as a win or loss for a lawyer.

Yes, those big, bad GOP obstructionists fighting to the last man to stop the Obama Administration and the liberal courts. So brave and courageous. 😛

And for once, it’d be great if SOMEONE would take the higher road just a bit.

Considering her family’s not-so-sterling reputation vis a vis premarital activity, I’m not quite sure HHS would be the best fit.
If Palin was a Demcrat, you’d call this “slut shaming” and you’d be indignant.

Doesn’t stop the fact-ignorant leftists from laughing and making jokes for no reason. It must be embarrassing for them.
Really? Their post election syndrome must be very traumatic to have resulted in this. Must be booming time for psychiatrists these days.

Not everyone who is critical of Trump or Palin is a ‘liberal’ or a leftist. There are plenty on the right and social conservatives who really dislike both. Dislike *them *not necessarily their policies or campaign platforms. In the case of Palin, she stumbled and a bit unprepared and also unfairly attacked during the campaign. But what was/is terrible about her started after losing 2008 when she started being a shock jock.

Did you ever see the show “Sarah palin’s Alaska”. Honestly it was a good informational show. Some of the best tv I saw that year.
Not joking.

I haven’t.

I should add that as a Canadian, I don’t care if she is named ambassador. It wouldn’t bother me. I would give her a chance.
