Scandal-Ridden USCCB Brings Pro-abortion, LGBT Rights Activists To Speak At 4-Day Event

It seem the shepherds are cooperating with the wolves, instead of protecting the flock. :eek:

It seems to me that the USCCB should be disbanded. This organization is responsible for an outrageous amount of financial support to the wolves. The smoke of satan has entered the church.

The other night, Saul Alynski was praised on EWTN. Then the exposure of all of their (USCCB) financial support to Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gay, organizations over the years. Sheeessshh

DISBAND THEM!! It’s to late to clean house, they are infected beyond belief. When gangrene sets in, then it’s time to amputate.
 
The people is on for a big fight.

US bishops are infected and dont seem to get it. what is the people to do? i wonder if we can know who is given them money? i wonder if they are getting money from those supporting abortion, gay marriage and so forth. how can we know? i dont be quick to judge. for i know it must be a faithfull bishop in somewhere.

Will you give it a break. St’s. Peter and Paul did not agree on everything, but they agreed on the one big thing, Jesus Christ.
 
Maybe the bishops are finally going to take a stand,
Maybe they are gathering a diverse crowd of dissenters to make a statement,
Maybe they will be giving out bells (w/o clappers) books (sealed) and candles (snuffed out),
Maybe I dream…
 
While Jesus taught us to love & include everyone, like sinners, tax collectors & adulterers, He surely did not let them give “seminars” during the Sermon on the Mount, speaking about the good of their sins!

Jesus clearly said to all of us sinners; **“I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Lk 13:3) **

Even the Apostles who Jesus hand picked & personally taught for 3 years still denied, betrayed & abandoned Him, until they fully opened their hearts & souls to the Holy Spirit!

Pray for our Bishops & all of us weak sinners!

Jesus did share meals with the worse sinners of the day. Remember His words, those who are well do not need a doctor.
We can certainly listen to opposing views. If our faith is strong enough, we can confront evil without turning to it.

Kind of reminds me of the cluelessness coming out of Washington these days. How many more scandals need to be unveiled? Not that this group EVER believed or practiced transparency, but they are not smart enough or humble enough to see their credibility–the little they may still have–going down the tubes fast.

I understand that, and generally agree; but will Fr. Reese and Prof Hayes provide the medicine that these people need? I think someone like Archbishop Chaput would be a better speaker for this event.

We can then trust the the necessary medicine won’t be watered down so much as to be ineffective.

I checked the program for the event, and I didn’t see any of the speaker ( Fr. Reese, Prof Hayes etc…) that you mentioned.

I went to the USCCB website’s advert for the event, which mentions none of these people, then to the link to the event they provided “for more informtion.” None of these people are mentioned.

Maybe we need to check our sources, lest we commit the sin of calumny against our own bishops.
 
I clicked on the OP link for the post and did see John Carr. And on that same page, it
does indicate that there are “other” speakers. I guess we can check next week to see
if these other names pop up.
 
Looking at the event catologe of events it looks like a comprehensive view of the Church’s social teaching and action.
The few voices that the web site objects too do not appear to represent any great number. When discussing social justice issues all sides need to be heard. It is the only way that understaning an dsome common ground can be found. Often there is just a knee jerk reaction to issues.
It is troubling that the article does not have a name on it, only a staff writter. The wolves are not the speaker at the conference, but those who find no problem in attacking our bishops.

I couldn’t agree more.
 
I find the news coming out about our Bishop’s Conference troubling; it is truly a scandal that money is being funneled through the USCCB to groups supporting homosexuality and abortion.

As far as those people speaking at an event, that does not necessarily warrant instant condemnation. The Bishops may seek opposing perspectives without agreeing with them. I hesitate to assume the worst of the USCCB. Sadly, it does look bad. The appearance of things, from reading the program on the USCCB website is that these people (such as John Carr) are speaking on behalf of the USCCB. If that is the case, the Conference really needs to clean house. The silence of the Bishops in the midst of this scandal has been confusing and disappointing.

Let make it clear. I am not attacking Bishops as individuals.

But it is obvious, that something is seriously wrong with the “Organization”. That organization is infested with pro-abort, pro-gay, anti-catholic leaders (not necessarily bishops).

One simple line from the bible:

“By their fruits, you shall know them”…

And the fruits are: millions and millions to Acorn, huge funds to pro-abort, pro-gay organizations and agencies. Leadership (the lay persons) qualifications that are appaling.

Every month that goes by, more and more organizations that are funded by this USCCB, are exposed as being anti-catholic.

If the bishops, as an organization, can’t clean house, then they shouldn’t be forming an organization at all.

Who needs them anyways? I much prefer the Vatican and the magesterium. I will listen to the Vatican and the Pope any day of the week.

But listen to John Carr??? No way ho-zay.

Saul Alynski was praised on EWTN, is that true? if so I find that extremely disturbing.
As for the USCCB if that is all true then we need many many prayers, for them and the Holy mother Church!😦
