If I said from the pulpit that the USCCB was “scandal ridden” (as the title here states), very few would have a clue as to what I was talking about. No more than half would even know what USCCB stands for off the top of their head. And even those who know wouldn’t even know about most of these so-called “scandals.” Heck, even the poster who says most people would know didn’t even know about the “Stations of the Cross scandal.”
Its simply not realistic to think the average Catholic is surfing the internet for USCCB news or that they get a Catholic newspaper besides their diocesan one.
I’m standing by my opinion that the USCCB has probably received very little “blowback” on these “scandals” and thus they feel no need to respond.
