Here’s my take:I have a question for those whom are well versed in science and evolution.
Don’t worry your silly head. There are no laws against quoting half a sentence especially not when it says something like ‘and sandstones, mudstones and shales.’. I distinctly remember Lui telling me he would not believe anything I said because St. A poisoned the well by posting a detraction against You’s good name. When he eventually thought of asking for a reference to a website I directed him to one in the very next post.It was you who said you quoted from websites, as per:
No one would associate you with websites you don’t quote if you linked the ones you do quote. In any event when quoting from a website it’s always worth including the link – it avoids any charge of plagiarism, lets readers read more if they wish, and many websites, even free sites, are copyrighted and their terms of fair use normally require an acknowledgement of authorship. You might not worry about legalities but there will be a member of staff at CAF who does.
You still haven’t said why you brought up any of this “when it rains things get wet” business in the first place. We all got taught the geology at school, we don’t need to research it, we don’t need any questions answered, we know the stuff and have done for years. It is an ex-parrot. 'E’s passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E’s expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E’s a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn’t nailed 'im to the perch 'e’d be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E’s off the twig! 'E’s kicked the bucket, 'e’s shuffled off ‘is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!! – Dead Parrot Sketch, Monty Python - mtholyoke.edu/~ebarnes/python/dead-parrot.htm
You’re being silly. This has been entertaining, but I have an appointment with reality, so I’ll see you around!Thats a silly thing to say. My house was never covered by the sea, nor was my dog, if I had one. Nor was my tuff sculpture from Sicily. Before any of your volcanoes existed the very same land they were to emerge on later was under the sea.
Psychological factors. So no factors apart from physical events are required to explain the emergence of personal activity?
One of the best sketches ever written, but I prefer the Spanish Inquisition sketch, and the scene in Monty Python’s Life of Brian in which Brian inadvertently steps on the toe of a hermit who’s been silent for 39 years 364 days! When he realizes he has broken his vow of silence, he begins singing, dancing, and defending his juniper bush. You still haven’t said why you brought up any of this “when it rains things get wet” business in the first place. For those hesitant to start a thread, I invite you to my temporary threadso for instance all humans coming from just two parents is exceedingly improbable. (c) There’s a ban on discussing evolution in this forumand we shouldn’t test the moderator’s patience, so for more start a thread in the Back Fence forum.
silly head - a term of endearment used to describe a loved oneDon’t worry your silly head.
Would have been neat if you’d done that for me when I asked.*When he eventually thought of asking for a reference to a website I directed him to one in the very next post. *
Ahem, I never attacked your truthiness (?), it was not my accent but a transcript of the original sketch, and I strongly disagree, as long as we have free speech then it’s never good to quote without linking an attribution.Your own attempts to attack my truthiness with detraction are beneath contempt and are as abhorrant as your dead parrot accent.
I do not want a link to your dead parrot, I did not request a link to your dead parrot, and I advise you to keep your links to yourself unless someone asks for them.

silly head I think we’ve done this one to death now and can put it behind us without mentioning it again, so here’s a last word by way of lightening your mood.
Inocente, I knew Noah had a swimming pool on board!
Gentle Readers,Inocente, I knew Noah had a swimming pool on board!
Do you know if there is any place in the world where the geologic column is complete?Yet the geologic fact remains, every bit of the earth was under water! Just like Noah said…![]()
Plenty of places. See The Geologic Column and Its Implications to the Flood hich lists over 30 places where the entire Geologic Column can be found:Do you know if there is any place in the world where the geologic column is complete?
Not that I know of, the oldest rocks are difficult to find. The different continental plates are like boards strapped to the feet of many energetic children in a lagre shallow puddle. They move north, south, east, west, when one foot is on the surface eroding sediment another is below the surface gathering sediment.Do you know if there is any place in the world where the geologic column is complete?
False, but we’ve been over this before.Yet the geologic fact remains, every bit of the earth was under water! Just like Noah said…![]()
This gentle reader wouldn’t know granny, Genesis seems to have cornered the market. Apparently there are 1,074 chapters in the NAB Old Testament, and we’ve still not finished discussing the first nine of them after 1,800 posts . At that rate it would take around another 200,000 posts to reach the first page of Matthew.Gentle Readers,
I assure you that the beautiful truths of Catholicism do not depend on how much water it takes to make a flood.
Brilliant:thumbsup:One of my more geekish hobbies is googling sentences, as it sometimes finds truly amazing coincidences.
No surprise here. Shows a lack of philosophical training. It shows education is out of balance. This gentle reader wouldn’t know granny, Genesis seems to have cornered the market. According to Six Reasons Young Christians Leave Church, “One of the reasons young adults feel disconnected from church or from faith is the tension they feel between Christianity and science. The most common of the perceptions in this arena is “Christians are too confident they know all the answers” (35%). Three out of ten young adults with a Christian background feel that “churches are out of step with the scientific world we live in” (29%). Another one-quarter embrace the perception that “Christianity is anti-science” (25%). And nearly the same proportion (23%) said they have “been turned off by the creation-versus-evolution debate.” Furthermore, the research shows that many science-minded young Christians are struggling to find ways of staying faithful to their beliefs and to their professional calling in science-related industries.”
True, we’ve been over this already.False, but we’ve been over this before.
