A poster named Scott who used Pax Christi as his forum name started a thread at Sean’s “Religion Forum” about Sean needing to apologize to Father Euteneuer. The thread is now gone.
Here is what was put in place of Scott’s thread;A poster named Scott who used Pax Christi as his forum name started a thread at Sean’s “Religion Forum” about Sean needing to apologize to Father Euteneuer. The thread is now gone.
Your post here would be good on Sean’s “Religion Forum.” I started a thread over there. Maybe you could put your links in a reply post over there?I like Sean Hannity but Thank God Father Euteneuer! What irked me is Sean stated isn’t it better to use birth control so abortions will be reduced. This really got me mad. Fr. Euteneur should have told Sean hormonal birth control is abortifacient in nature. These abortions through the use of birth control are called chemical abortions. There are an estimated 14 million chemical abortions per year in the U.S.

Then Sean calls NFP birth control. You think he would know the difference between birth control and NFP…

Do you think Sean has ever read Genesis 38 8-10? I think Father Euteneuer needs to explain this passage to Sean.
usccb.org/nab/bible/genesis/genesis38.htm
Seans show only allows 5 minutes of discussion. This is a topic which takes a very long time to understand and therefore I knew nothing would be achieved during Sean’s program. I am just glad a priest finally called Sean out about this finally!
I pray Fr. Euteneuer can get together with Sean and explain what and why are faith teaches on contraception, birth control and NFP. I just don’t think Sean really has put much time into understanding this. Just my thoughts.
Not trying to derail this thread too much, but NFP is birth control (whether it is being use to space births or to aid in conceiving). Abstinence is also birth control. Then Sean calls NFP birth control. You think he would know the difference between birth control and NFP…
This is correct. What NFP is not is artificial birth control. Also, it can only be used for grave reasons as stated by Church teaching. Not trying to derail this thread too much, but NFP is birth control (whether it is being use to space births or to aid in conceiving). Abstinence is also birth control.
NFP is not contraception. And it is contraception, not birth control, that is per se sinful.
IMO it helps no one when inaccuracies are used and continued.
I think we need to do some serious counter offensive with regard to Sean Hannity. If this is how he treats those who disagree with him then we should consider starting up a boycott of the advertisers of his show.I was also blocked from Sean Hannities Forum. I was given the following message:
**You have been banned for the following reason:
contempt of host
Date the ban will be lifted: Never**
All I did was express my displeasure with Sean’s treatment of Father. I did not say anything “crazy”. Also, I put up the following link in my post:
domusdei.org/2007/03/10/sean-hannity-the-heretic
I think it was the link and not anything else I said. Because the posting on Domus Dei really does tell it how it is. The Hannity Forums follow the style of his show… If he doesn’t like what you have to say you will be cut off.
It’s Sean Hannity’s show. He invited the priest there to discuss it in public. I have a friend who has her own talk show and she told me that with those shows they always rehearse and go over what is to be said. The host is always prepared unless someone was intentionally deceptive. I highly doubt that would be the case with this priest. Sean Hannity knew what was coming and he wanted to make this disagreement public.Wow, I had not heard any of this & only rarely catch the show. I agree with you guys & am concerned of the continued scandal this will cause.
Something I feel uneasy about, though, is should Father have done this in public? I had been a lukewarm Catholic for so long I’m weak on Scripture, but isn’t there something in the Gospel about handling a disagreement with your brother in private 1st? I’m not sure what led up to this interview, or if Hannity knew what Father would discuss.
I just think most people would get incredibly defensive being called to the carpet on their own national TV show. I wonder if he had tried to have several meetings with Hannity 1st, sent him materials like “Contraception, Why Not” & THEN maybe Sean would have been willing to recant the statements he had been making. I know he was causing public scandal, but did his counseling or chastisement have to be public?
I caught the tale end of that interview and was completely thrown for a loop. I jumped on the internet to see if I could find the entire interview or whether a thread had been started here at CA. Of course, it was still too soon after the airing so there was nothing to be found at the time.Sean Hannity faced off with Fr. Euteneuer of Human Life International. Fr. Euteneuer called Sean a heretic for being openly pro-artifical contraception.
The text of the discussion as well as a link to the video can be found in the below link:

Dear Mr. Hannity,
Concerning your debate with Fr. Euteneuer on Hannity & Colmes, which aired March 09, 2007, I have only this to say, “You should be ashamed of yourself.” Normally, I agree with the things you say and the positions you take; however, not on this. You were out-of-line and seemed so irate that you appeared to lose your self-control to a point where your argument made absolutely no sense. You became disrespectful, arrogant, and pompous and to be quit honest, you argued as an amateur against an institution, which has defended itself for these past 2,000 years. You threw out silly arguments such as “Judge not lest you be judged” which any elementary school CCD student understands as speaking of the judgment of a person’s soul and final destination. Sean, if that argument were something that you actually believed in, you would be out of a job, since your entire profession revolves around “judging” the actions of others and making those actions (and your opinion of those actions) known to us, the public. You go on to state that you attended seminary, studied Latin, and theology and yet you are obviously uneducated when it comes to Catholicism. Sean, having studied those things, does not give you a pass when it comes to Church doctrine. The Church says that artificial birth control is a grave sin. It becomes mortal if the individuals involved know that it is such and consent freely to commit the act anyway. I am sorry that you disagree but you might as well disagree with gravity for all your protesting is worth. You, though being educated and moral on a great deal of matters, are wrong in this area. I and many Catholics throughout the United States will be praying for you Mr. Hannity. God bless.
GREAT idea… I will…I believe we should send some words of encouragement to Father as well.
