Wondering Waif:
HAHAHA!!! You don’t care if I’m a Christian, nor do you care about the state of Hannity’s soul.
Since when is a caring God atheism?
I do care and so does God. This is not atheism. You accused me of saying that God does not care. I never said anything of that sort.

You said a caring God was atheism, what does that mean!? If you have God at all how can that possibly translate to atheism?
Atheists don’t believe that there is a God.

Once again you use selective posting. Here’s what I said, “Are you a Christian? You don’t care if someone else is offended? God cares. This is atheism.” Not “a caring God is atheism.” There is a difference. The last part ‘this is atheism’, was reffering to the part where I said “you don’t care if someone else is offended”, I took it and put it in question form. I think you need to read more carefully.

Okay, I think that you need to write more carefully, though.

AJC:
Michael,

Hannity is no such thing. He questions Church teaching on his show, time and again. He is a “cafeteria” Catholic, but I would not describe him as “devout.” One should not confuse his reactionary political view with what the Church teaches. :nope:

AJC
Maybe Devout was wrong, but he still isnt evil. Come on!

I was never impressed with Hannity. He is a conservative, and he does get our point across most of the time, but he is very unoriginal and not very thought-provoking - so given a choice I’ll usually change the channel.

Worse than that though, Hannity is very liberal in his faith. In the midst of the priest scandal I heard him say “If the Church doesn’t straighten this thing out [to his standards I assume], I’m out of here.”

I was so disappointed in him. What kind of faith is that? Certainly not Catholic.

Rush is okay…again he’s a conservative with millions tuning in every week so that’s always good. My only complaint is that he seems to tow the Republican party line a little too much. Given that, I would like to see him give a speech at the next Republican National Convention. I think it would be a win-win for both the party and for Rush.

My two favorite hosts are Michael Medved and Michael Savage - both of whom are undeniably brilliant. Savage goes a little too far sometimes, but at least he balances out the extreme left. His show is very entertaining and humorous. Medved always has a professional show, with a wealth of research and knowledge. I have shaken Medved’s hand and thanked him for always speaking positively of the Catholic Church. Both he and Savage consistently support and defend the Church - incidentally neither one is Catholic.

I rarely listen to Sean Hannity. As to whether he is a devout Catholic it depends on one’s definition, since we all fail in living up to it. I think he just has a mantra. Also I could never be his next door neighbor since he would never want to live next to someone who hangs their laundry on the line. I was enlightened with this fact when he was speaking with someone who advocated line drying vs. using the dryer.

Failing to live up to the Catholic faith (failing to be perfect) is not the same thing as disagreeing with the Catholic faith. The point being made on this thread is that Sean has trouble with Church doctrine; not that he fails to be perfect. There is no need to make that point.

I’ve listened to him long enough to hear him say several times… and I QUOTE “The Church is WRONG!”. He was talking to a listener who was defending the Church very well, Hannity got frustrated (because he was loosing the argument, and that was his final word before he went to a break. He rarely defends the Church and you can tell it comes from someplace personal.
I really do like him, but I think he is contracepting or something like that. Just my dumb opinion.
It sounds a bit out of character, though, to make such a bold statement. Are you sure he wasn’t quoting someone other than the caller?

Yet, if we fail to be perfect then we truly have fallen short of even Christ’s simplest command to us.

Basically all talk show hosts, even the best of the conservative ones, have one mantra and it’s spelled roughtly “ka-ching.”

Sometimes it’s also spelled, “book deal,” which does not distinguish them from the worst criminals … at least in that regard.

I don’t think that Hannity is capable of thinking in any other terms but Liberal/Conservative. If he had an interview with Christ he’d ask him who He voted for, what he thought of John Kerry’s latest statements, etc. He was nearly frothing at the mouth wanting to see Tookie Williams executed.

I’m a conservative (not for the death penalty in most cases though) but Hannity just bores me to tears. Same mantra no matter what guest he has. Sticks to talking points and can’t react with any flexibility to the very intelligent or very stupid thing an individual guest says. His rhetorical questions go on and on too which is particularly aggravating when a brilliant guest that I agree with is on (how he get’s them I’ll never know). I want to hear them!

I said on another post that I think he’s sort of a natural Evangelical who believes in Country, God in that order. Always has an Evangelical on to address Christian matters, never a priest…and I don’t always appreciate their being my spokesperson!

Heard him tell Raymond Arroyo that he almost left the Church after the sex scandals which isn’t a sign of someone who can keep things in perspective. Bet he’d never consider not being a conservative if there was a conservative sex scandal!
