The only certainty is that He is to be the Last Pope.

As to when, He simply stated to be alert at all times as the Son of Man will arrive like a thief in the night.

No one knows when He will return, but we must be ready…

Just like the Prophets could only give the Jews the signs of what to look for, but not when their Messiah would come, we are given signs, but not when. This time, He will come as a conquering King with trumpets sounding His arrival and it will be clear to all who He is…

Those who say they do know the time of wehn He will come are ignoring Scripture and are wrong (whether they are lying or just deceived is another matter)…

Prayers and petitions,

no…He gave signs but not exact time because we must be ready always.
humanity.
He will not return as another person nor will He return as a hidden person known only to few in Pakistan:

“But I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26.64

“When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, and the goats at the left.” Matthew 25.31-32.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him…Revelation 1.7
Great post! 👍

Great post! 👍
**Surprising !! Such an important event and nobody knows the dates for certain !! A period of two thousand years has passed and people are waiting. The Jews are waiting for their Messiah because they did not accept Jesus. So their case is closed. Their Messiah will never come. But the christians are waiting for 2000 years. Is that easy?? Is there a mistake??

Please remember the words of Jesus when he said : “You will never see me again unless you say… ’ blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord…’.”

Matthew 23:39
For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ "**

Luke 13:35
Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ "

These words of Jesus may shed some light on the approximate day of his second coming.

of course, because Jesus made it clear we should be always ready, not just before He comes back to judge.

Planten, have you actually read Chapter 23 of Matthew and Chapter 13 of Luke? Or are you just taking a quote that someone else has given to you with their explanation of what it means? **

Both verses are Jesus talking about when he will enter Jerusalem for the last time before his crucifixion. In Chapter 23 of Matthew he is lamenting that the people and their leaders will not acknowledge him. But when he next comes the cry “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” will be heard. and in the 19th Chapter of Luke we find that just this cry was heard by all:

Luke 19:29-40: As [Jesus] approached Bethphage and Bethany on the mount called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples with these instructions: “Go into the village straight ahead of you. Upon entering it you will find an *** tied there which no one has yet ridden. Untie it and lead it back. If anyone should ask you, ‘Why are you untying the beast?’ say, ‘The Master has need of it.’” They departed on their errand and found things just as he had said. As they untied the ***, its owners said to them, “why are you doing that?” They explained that the Master needed it. Then they led the animal to Jesus, and laying their cloaks on it, helped him mount. They spread their cloaks on the roadway as he moved along; and on his approach to the descent from Mount Olivet the entire crowd of disciples began to rejoice and praise God loudly for the display of power they had seen, saying: “Blessed be he who comes as king in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He replied, “If they were to keep silence, I tell you the very stones would cry out.”… {45}Then he entered the temple…

(Apparently I cannot use the word for a donkey-like animal that is used in the bible):o

I know what Islam teaches, so please don’t try to attack my faith with arguments that equally apply to your’s…👍

I don’t think we know when Jesus will return. We must be ready and we must watch for him.

Sadly, I’ve seen several non-Catholic sites that have fallen into what is called “date setting”. The times came, and Jesus didn’t. Their theories and supposed prophecies failed. Some people like date setting. Some have said even if the personal revelations of their peers aren’t true, that they still like to read about it because it’s like a cup of java. But unfortunately, I’m afraid that those with shakable faith could loose their faith, as private revelations pass with the days, weeks, and seasons.

Many believe that the parable in the New Testament of the fig tree is symbolic of Israel becoming a nation. The parable mentions that the generation that sees such things will not pass away. So many people believe Jesus will return before the generation that saw Israel become a nation passes. Some start it from when Jerusalem was taken in the 6 day war. Some think that Daniel’s prophecy of the 60 weeks began when Martin Luther nailed his list to the door and that it’s 60 weeks of years or something.

But honestly, I would choose the Catholic Church to reveal the meaning of prophecies, and point us to the return of Christ. I say that because the Catholic Church with God’s help put together the Bible, so obviously that should lead one to think that the Catholic Church would know how to interpret the scriptures.

The failed revelations of recent non-Catholic Christians regarding the return of Christ have caused me to become very, very cautious of those who say God speaks to them. At least in the non-Catholic realm.

Saints, and the Church, have my full attention, however. The prophecy of St. Malachy, certain writings of Hildegard Von Bingen… they are all very interesting, and I keep them in mind. And there are other Saints as well, but I don’t have a list handy. It’s all very interesting stuff though.

Jesus did mention signs. And as someone else mentioned here, Jesus said Jerusalem would not see Him again until they (The Jews) say “Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord”. They haven’t done that yet, but perhaps they are on their way (not knowing it yet, however), because of the revelation earlier last year from a very prominent rabbi that the name of the messiah is Yehoshua, the long form of Yeshua, the name the we translate as “Jesus”. So if something will come from that, and how long it’ll take, who knows…

I don’t mean to go on and on, but I love your question. I often wonder myself if we are in the last days. The best answer I can give is no matter what, live like it. Whenever He returns, however we meet him (Second Coming or by passing away) we must keep watch for Him. And I believe the Bible actually commands to watch. So keep watching! God bless you :).

P.S.- Sorry, I didn’t realize this was the Non-Catholic religions forum, hope my answer still applies in some way :o.

Jesus Christ Himself told us, that “no one knows the day, nor the hour”.

As to how we will know Him? “He will come again in glory, to judge the living and the dead”…
Kind of hard to miss the glory of the Lord being revealed, no?? “And all flesh shall see it together”.

When He comes again, it will be as the Kings of Kings and the Lord of Lords, that He is and has always been.
As He instructed us, our job is to be ready to meet Him, that we may not be ashamed at His coming.

WHERE WILL HE COME FROM
Acts 1:11 *They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.” *

WHEN WILL HE COME
Matthew 24:36, 42, 44 "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. . . Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. . . So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE HIM
Matthew 24:27-28 For just as lightning comes from the east and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

Hi

Nevermind; let it be the Catholic Church to reveal date, month, year and which denomination, faith, reilgion.
Nobody know what physical feauture Jesus had. Would he be recognized from a DNA testing?

I think it is very important.

Thanks

but the Father alone
Hi

So even Jesus does not know as to when he would come. There is so much hierarchy of the Catholic Church; why don’t they ask it from Jesus and if he does not reply, then “father”?

Have they lost contact with him?

Thanks

Thanks for your explanation and guidance. I wrote what I knew to be correct. But perhaps my knowldge was limited in this matter. Nobody is teaching me against the christian faith. I am on my own.

After your post, I will read the mathews and Luke chapters again. I will try to understand. If I find something not well understood then I will come back with it, or with the same old question/ references. If your explanation is correct that it was about the entry of Jesus into Jeroshlem then I will understand that you are right. Thanks.
