I don’t think we know when Jesus will return. We must be ready and we must watch for him.
Sadly, I’ve seen several non-Catholic sites that have fallen into what is called “date setting”. The times came, and Jesus didn’t. Their theories and supposed prophecies failed. Some people like date setting. Some have said even if the personal revelations of their peers aren’t true, that they still like to read about it because it’s like a cup of java. But unfortunately, I’m afraid that those with shakable faith could loose their faith, as private revelations pass with the days, weeks, and seasons.
Many believe that the parable in the New Testament of the fig tree is symbolic of Israel becoming a nation. The parable mentions that the generation that sees such things will not pass away. So many people believe Jesus will return before the generation that saw Israel become a nation passes. Some start it from when Jerusalem was taken in the 6 day war. Some think that Daniel’s prophecy of the 60 weeks began when Martin Luther nailed his list to the door and that it’s 60 weeks of years or something.
But honestly, I would choose the Catholic Church to reveal the meaning of prophecies, and point us to the return of Christ. I say that because the Catholic Church with God’s help put together the Bible, so obviously that should lead one to think that the Catholic Church would know how to interpret the scriptures.
The failed revelations of recent non-Catholic Christians regarding the return of Christ have caused me to become very, very cautious of those who say God speaks to them. At least in the non-Catholic realm.
Saints, and the Church, have my full attention, however. The prophecy of St. Malachy, certain writings of Hildegard Von Bingen… they are all very interesting, and I keep them in mind. And there are other Saints as well, but I don’t have a list handy. It’s all very interesting stuff though.
Jesus did mention signs. And as someone else mentioned here, Jesus said Jerusalem would not see Him again until they (The Jews) say “Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord”. They haven’t done that yet, but perhaps they are on their way (not knowing it yet, however), because of the
revelation earlier last year from a very prominent rabbi that the name of the messiah is Yehoshua, the long form of Yeshua, the name the we translate as “Jesus”. So if something will come from that, and how long it’ll take, who knows…
I don’t mean to go on and on, but I love your question. I often wonder myself if we are in the last days. The best answer I can give is no matter what, live like it. Whenever He returns, however we meet him (Second Coming or by passing away) we must keep watch for Him. And I believe the Bible actually commands to watch. So keep watching! God bless you

P.S.- Sorry, I didn’t realize this was the Non-Catholic religions forum, hope my answer still applies in some way
