He did. That is our point!!
The followers of Christ were interested in when the prophecies would be fulfilled. Jesus told them, “No man knows the day nor the hour”.
It is none of our business. That is for God to know.
Our job is to serve Him, every day & every hour, as though He were going to come at any time. That is what we have been told to do. It is a matter of obedience to the will of God, to serve God; not to run off on a rabbit trail of something as beside the point as the timing of Christ’s return.
Is it tempting to speculate? Of course. But we have our “marching orders”, and those orders are to live as though each minute was to be our last one, because, one day, that will be the truth.:byzsoc: :gopray2: :gopray2: :crossrc:
Not day nor hour, but Jesus gave signs of the season since even the elect would be deceived by the Antichrist, if possible. So it’s important to recognize those things as they happen so we aren’t fooled. Most notably the restoration of Israel in 1948.

Like, why so many Christians support a nation that doesn’t like Jesus and believes another Messiah instead of him should rule the world is beyond me.

Yes, Jesus is the Temple of New Jerusalem, and the Kingdom includes believers. But there is still symbolism in the Temple Mount, anything major that happens there from here on in is going to mean something in prophecy. That’s what the abomination of desolation for Jews is all about, they lose their Temple to another nation.

Matthew 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

The Quran says Jesus is Messiah and a lot of Muslims know what that means in Jewish prophecy – the human king of David – but a lot don’t. So the Quran doesn’t reject Jesus as Messiah.
Do you see “shattering of the power of the holy people”, “the continual burnt offering” ceasing, and “the abomination that makes desolate . . . being set up”, fulfilled in the destruction of the Temple? (70 A.D.)

There is not a Muslim alive who could convince a Catholic that Islam knows better than we do about what the Bible says. No one knows the hour… That is the answer to your original question, in a nut shell. Muslim took Temple Mount by FORCE and bloodshed to try and destroy the One True Church. You got your answer… now stop trying to convert us. I believe many faithful Catholics and a few Protestants have MORE than answered your “loaded/baited” question MANY MANY times. We’re not going to “slip up” or “misquote” scripture… no matter how many times you keep trying to prove “no one knows the hour” wrong. Frankly, I don’t care when Jesus comes back. I am not to be concerned with such matters. My only concern is to be ready.

Peace be with you

I think that’s when God washed His hands of unbelieving Jews. In the millennium the saints rule with Jesus it seems he may restore Temple duties for Jews according to Ezekiel, since he said the laws would remain until heaven and earth pass:

Ezekiel 45:17 And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

Or that all just may be symbolic of prayer offerings, I don’t know.

But in Revelation, after that Satan is gone at least, heaven and earth pass, and there is no more sin, so I can’t see any need for sin offerings, if there is no more sin.

Hi

Islam does not reject Jesus who was born naturally to Mary (only the conception to Mary was unusual, birth was absolutely natural) and Jesus also died naturally; so Islam accepts JesusMessiah as a ProphetMessenger and ChosenOne of GodAllahYHWH.
Jesus said he would rise from the dead, but Islam does not believe him. Why does Islam believe Jesus is a prophet?

John 10:17 This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again.
Islam does not accept that Jesus s/o Mary would come literally and physically in this world again that chapter is closed; but Islam’s JesusMessiah would be born in a Muslim family and not in a Catholic family and he would be a SuccessorKhalifa to Muhammad and act accoring to the teachings of Quran and not Bible.
Jesus said He would come literally and physically, but you don’t believe.

Mat 25:31 *“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations” *

Why does Islam believe Jesus is a prophet if they don’t believe his words?

Acts 1:10-11 *While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven." *

Why don’t you believe the words of God’s angel?

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

The saints are ruling with Jesus in the millennium right now, and His Kingdom is already here. (but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him) Temple sacrifice will not resume. Jesus is the eternal sacrifice of the Eucharist.

Luke 22:19-20 Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

Heb 10:10-12 *By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Every priest stands daily at his ministry, offering frequently those same sacrifices that can never take away sins. But this one offered one sacrifice for sins, and took his seat forever at the right hand of God; *

After the last battle, we will see the triumph of Christ’s kingdom but *“now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool.” *Heb 10:13

Peace,

Ryan

What do you think of Ezekiel talking about Messiah making the burnt offerings, do you think it’s symbolic?

Second Coming of Jesus
Hi

Second Coming of Jesus is described in NTBible as:

2 Peter 3: DR
10 But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with great violence, and the elements shall be melted with heat, and the earth and the works which are in it, shall be burnt up.

We Ahmadi peaceful Muslims understand that Jesus uses symbolic language; as a thief comes so often in the dark and changes his garbs many a times, so someone like Jesus is to come, not Jesus himself literally and physically. He i.e, Jesus died naturally, so there is no question of his returning to this word again, in our opinion.

Thanks

No, parr. The thief never tells you when he is coming! That is what Scriptures and the parable is telling us. The ‘hour’ will be a surprise to everyone.

Jesus Christ will look and appear to human eyes, the same way He looked, in appearance, when He ascended amongst all the witnesses. That is what the Angels tell us.

God’s Kingdom was the Temple sitting on the Temple Mount, now Muslims are there. Things like that just don’t happen for no reason. Muslims represent Ishmael which represent all the Gentiles including Christians, and he is the other nation that bears fruit by preaching that Jesus is Messiah, while for the most part, Jews do not.

The Quran doesn’t deny the crucifixion as stated elsewhere. Muslims and Christians are confused about a lot of things, but they both say Jesus is Messiah.
Islam denies the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Muslims believe that God rescued Jesus from the schemes of the unbelievers and raised Christ to heaven. The general Islamic view is that someone else was crucified in Jesus’ place, with most Muslims believing that Judas Iscariot was the one whom the unbelievers killed.

**According to this majority view of modern Islamic scholarship Judas was made to look like Jesus on the night when Christ was to be crucified. The unbelieving Jews thought that they had crucified Christ when in reality it was Judas that they had killed.

The idea that Jesus did not die on the cross stems from the Quran in S. 4:157-158**

**“And because of their (the Jews) saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger- they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.” **

There is nothing we can do to make Jesus return. He will return when He decides to.

There is much you would have to learn about Christianity to understand what readiness is. Here is one example:

Matt. 25:31-46 *“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’ Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’ He will answer them, **‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do **for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’ And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” *

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

Sorry, Peary, You have rightly heard that story of Judas crucified. Not all Muslims believe in that now because it is a false story injected into the Muslim books long ago.

People accepted it without thinking. That is quite an impossible story and cannot be true. You being a Catholic, please follow your own belief and the belief of the Jews. Nowadays, the muslims have seen the many flaws in that substitution theory. That is totally unbelievable. That theory is against the teaching of the bible too, on a very fundamental issue.

very good.

am not sure about the “inserted” part since it was the interpretation of some mufassirin, including Ibn Kathir, yet i agree with your post : it makes absolutely no sense…it is time for different interpretations that do not oppose neither history, nor human intelligence.

what do you think about FaithofAbraham’s interpretation? mainly that it appeared Jesus died of crucifixion but he died just before it? can you find it in the Quranic passage ?

I have no idea what you people are talking about.

It is an historical fact that Jesus was crucified and died on the cross.

It is documented in Roman and Jewish historical records,

If one wants to change what had occurred 500 years later well let them have their fantasy,

There was no history of Islam as we know it today till 500 years after the time of Christ so no recorded history there.

Christianity can base it’s roots from today to Adam and Eve.

Islam starts it’s recordable religious facts from around the year 500 and fills in the blanks or changes what it wants to believe or fits it’s goals and has occurred from that point.

No data = does not compute

Hi

There are several nations in the world, not the Jewish and the Romans only. From Galilee Jesus alongwith Mary after the event of Crucifixion went to eastward to preach his gospel among the 10tribes of the House of Israel. He vistied Persia, Afghanistan, India, Tibet and Kashmir. So for history please also see the history of these nations.

Jews though believe that they killed/executed Jesus on Cross but they don’t believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead. No Jew , I think, would witness that.

Kindly make amendments in your historical concepts accordingly.

It is you who make a comment there is historical data there that jesus was not Crucified and Died on the cross. I never mentioned the ressurection you did.

As for historical data I am not going to chase my tail in a circle.

You state there is other historical data to state otherwise well then show it along with it’s validity or accept the Lord as your Savior.

inJESUS;3172718:
FaithofAbraham;3170638 said:
Psalms 118:22-26 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
Dear FoA,

You made an interesting bible quotations, FoA. Both Psalm and Matthew you are quoting talks about Jesus himself, not about Ka’ baa. Remember, Jesus just like the common way of teaching of the Jews, always used parables. Jesus is the stone the builder rejected, which is the man that people rejected. Jesus always teach the correct laws which are unlike what the Jews practiced. Therefore, Jesus was thrown away. But, Jesus has become the cornerstone, which is the basis/foundation of human salvation. “The Kingdom of God… the fruits thereof” stressed that the salvation that Jesus brought, was/is/will/always be valid to all human.

Hi

What do you mean by readiness?
Are there certain things you have to perform before descent of the PromisedMessiah?

Thanks
Dear paar,

That means that we must (1) love God above anything, with all of our might, our ability and our truthfullness, and (2) love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Those 2 must be done simultaneously.
