Loving God,

We thank for your many blessings and especially for the gift of strong members of our faith community who set an excellent example of what it means to be Your humble servant. Please hear the persistent prayers of your people on behalf of our dear friend of Christ Jim who has endured much suffering and pain in his life. Please bless Jim, bless his wife Elsa, and send your comforting and consoling Holy Spirit to be with them. Please grant Jim the strength and courage to complete his medical treatments and grant his medical care givers wisdom and compassion. Please also let Jim know of Your special love for him as he carries his cross in union with our Lord.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Amen.

Jim,
While I do not post often, you remain in my daily prayers. Your wife remains in my prayers.
May God heal and strengthen you and provide comfort and amazing hope to you and your family.

I pray that each and every one of you had a blessed Easter, the joy of which will continue throughout the entirety of the Easter season. Before I went for my infusion yesterday, I said a prayer for my blood. My platelets have been low, which jeopardizes my ability to receive the experimental drug. My prayer was answered, as my platelet level was still a little low, but more than high enough to receive the infusion. A different nurse than usual attended to me, and increased the I.V drip rate at the end of the process, to finish it a little quicker. May the record reflect that the is a BAD IDEA. I was nauseated on the one hour ride home, as well as all evening. However, I remain blessed, since this is actually the first time this has occurred since I began treatment last August.

I have also been bummed out being away from work where I have the opportunity to witness my faith to those I meet - some of which are truly desperate. However, in listening to our Lord, I now know that He wants me to witness my faith wherever He places me. So, I spoke about my faith with a non-practicing Muslim nurse who is administering the clinical trial, as well as with my agnostic Doctor. I can tell that the nurse is seeking, and the doctor loves creation, but not our Creator. So, I have my work to do! Praise God that He finds work for me, no matter the situation!

May Christ’s peace be with each of you.

Jim,
Sorry you cannot be at work during this time to help those that need a boost of faith. But you are correct in recognizing that God will provide you many opportunities in your daily life to be a strong witness.

Perhaps your job is to merely plant the seed of the Holy Spirit in people that you meet briefly. Perhaps those people at work need to sit and think and contemplate what you have discussed previously.

Who’s to say? But sounds like you do what is asked of you in a graceful and joyous way. You are a good servant.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Jim,
My prayers continue for you. I believe God has right where He wants you to be. You are witnessing to many - us, of course. You hold a dear place in my heart. I’m praying for Elsa as well, and the children of course.

Blessings,
Judi

I agree. Your faith and humility is a witness to us all.

You remain in my prayers…:crossrc:

First of all, thank you and may God store up treasure for you in Heaven because of your faithfulness to prayer.

You have correctly identified my two largest challenges. I claim to believe in all that our faith teaches. If I believe the prophets; if I believe that Christ was born of a virgin; if I believe that he raised others from death; if I believe that He rose from the dead; if I believe that He ascended to the Father; if I believe that He has prepared a place for us, then I must embrace all of our Lord’s promises. I must desire the next life more than this life. I must place my faith and trust solely in Him. I take not one breath without our Lord’s permission and blessing. My life is not mine - it is His. And so, I must break all ties to that which is unholy and seek all that is holy. This has proven to be a test, but also confirms my assertion that cancer has become, via the Lord’s grace, a blessing. All who pray are drawing ever nearer to our Lord. This blessing was revealed to me through a coworker who does not strictly believe in God, but is praying to Him for my sake. How much more clearly can the Lord reveal His presence?

Again, I thank you and ask the Lord to bless all who offer prayer. Amen!

Still praying for you, Jim. Take care of yourself. We are all praying for you.

Blessings,
Judi
