I am soooo sick and tired of hearing about Christians talking about the “end times”, especially on nice, even calendar years when they end with three zeros or a 500.

And this idea of blindly rushing to Israel’s side every time a Palestinian throws a rock?

It’s absurd and naive!

God has not always protected Israel! When they left God for a certain time, He let Israel’s enemies walk over them!

We need to adhere to the Just War Criteria and common sense, and you won’t find much of that from the religious zealots on either side of the conflict.

Having said that, though, I do agree that the rise of militant Islam is going to be a huge menace to global civilizations, and that it needs to be checked; if diplomacy fails (and there is every reason to believe it might) then a Just War solution would certainly be required.

And in such a situation, Israel would be an ally, not an enemy.

One can be pro-Israel without drinking the LaHaye-flavoured Kool Aid. I’m one of them, and I’m not even American!

That’s really odd, given the fact that there hasn’t ever even been a religious Prime Minister.

And it must be a real “coincidence” that Black Sudanese, Eritreans’ and others- including many Muslims from those countries, are fleeing to Israel specifically. In fact, they literally risk their lives crossing all of Egypt, including the Sinai desert, to get to the Jewish state.

When an Egyptian born Coptic Christian living in the United States was called out for a youtube video insulting to Muslims and accused of causing riots and murders, he immediately fell back on the tried and true “blame the Jews”. A story was immediately circulated that an Israeli Jew was behind the video and that 50 Jews had come together to donate the money for the video. Even though there was not an iota of truth in this accusation I assure you that in 20 years time you will find people who believe that the video was produced and financed by Jews.

The libel that the Mossad knew about 9/11 but didn’t reveal their knowledge and prevent the attacks is another case in point. People are willing to set aside any intelligent thought or logic in their quest to malign Jews and Israel. The entire FBI and the entire CIA working out of their home base were unable to uncover the 9/11 plot. However, the Israeli Mossad secretly carrying out widespread espionage in the United States were apparently able to uncover the plot. Unfortunately, so the story goes, the Mossad did not reveal the attack to the Americans lest the extent of their espionage network was revealed or because they were interested in the attack being carried for various nefarious reasons of self interest that Jews and the Jewish state are known to have.

This is a wonderful libel. First, it shows just how powerful and dangerous are the Jews and their agencies. Which is perfectly logical if we consider that the people who believe this libel also believe that the Jews control the American government. Then we have the point that the Jews and the Jewish state act against the interests of Ameica which is why they should be shunned and boycotted. In this scenario it’s not that all the American agencies failed in their mission to uncover the plot, it’s not that a group of people mainly from Saudia Arabia, an ally of the United States, carried out an act of terrorist mass murder. No, the people who are to blame for 9/11 are the Jews and the Israeli Mossad.

Of course, hundreds of Jews and also some Israelis were killed in this horrendous act of terror. To counter this claim, it was claimed that no Jews (or Israelis) were killed as they had all been warned beforehand. It also naturally had to follow that the entire terror act was an “inside job”, again taking away any responsibility from those who did plan and did carry out this unspeakable despicable act.

Needing a more tangible link for the libel, a group of young Israelis who freaked out watching the horror before them were turned into agents of the Mossad. If you want to understand their weird reaction you have to know how traumatic 9/11 was to the people of Israel While our neighbors were dancing in the streets, we the people of Israel were traumatized. Most of us have a personal link and empathy to victims of terror. To see it carried out against the United States on American territory was devastating. Ask any Israeli where he was on 9/11 and you will receive a detailed answer in the same way Americans who were alive then can tell where they were when President Kennedy was assasinated in 1963.

Now it turns out that the Mossad, that agency that is so professional it can discover terror plots that allude every American agency, has a group of young Mossad agents that are such rank amateurs that they call public attention to themselves by their antics and for no apparent professional reason. Luckily for them, even after being arrested they are soon released despite their apparent involvement in this horrendous act of terror. Which leads to the next part of the libel, which is that not only Israel and the Mossad were involved in these horrible acts of terror but also the American government itself.

So if you believe those things it really isn’t so strange that you believe, for instance, that Jews are carrying out genocide or any other of the nonsensical things that certain people say about the Jews.

Excellent point!! There were posters here who ran with that story. “Agent Provocateurs” were blamed (ie, Israelis) who the citizens of the US “need to be aware of”. It’s amazing how history repeats itself. You would think the “perfidious Jews” theme is straight out of Der Giftpilz. It’s the same message, just wrapped up in different packaging. But now “Jews” aren’t to blame, it’s the “Zionists” who are the baby blood matzoh-making, organ havesting, power behind every war or act of terrorism.

It’s very sad, and the overwhelming proof of WHY there MUST be an Israel. It took 6 million+ dead for Jews to realize they can only depend on one person for their defense: Themselves.
